Open Thread - 11-12-21 - Have You Seen the Stars Tonight

Back in 1980 the 13 series documentary Cosmos by Carl Sagan had a profound effect on myself. I anxiously awaited every week for the new episode to air and then watched it again later in the week when it aired for the second time. As soon as possible I ran out to Barnes and Noble and bought the accompanying book just missing getting a first edition by only a few days. To me this was television at its finest and would eventually lead to a decades old hobby of mine, astronomy.

I thought today we could take a quick tour around our solar system. I am a huge space buff and one of the reason I got into art was so I could do space art. So sit back and relax and enjoy the tour of our little corner of the Milky Way. When possible the textures are courtesy of NASA.

Welcome to Sunday Brunch. This is an open topic thread so help yourself to the goodies and sit a while and let us know what is new with you. Yesterday was Astronomy Day. I have been interested in outer space all my life. I remember as a child Dad would take to the San Francisco Planetarium every time there was a new show. We watched all the moon landings. It was a special bond Dad and I had looking at the stars. As an artist I started out my graphic art career doing space pictures.
