As I write this, there is less than 10 minutes left of the Winter of 2015-6.
You got that right. Ostara, the Vernal Equinox, will occur at 10:30 PM MDT and corresponding times in other time zones.
Why, do you ask, is this happening now? Isn't it just a skosh early for this?

I'm planning an essay about the Pagan Holiday, too, per request; but I wanted to get this announcement out before the actual celestial event!

Not the 21st this year, by Cat!
I thought I still had until sometime tomorrow to get my Essays about Ostara 2016 out, because that's when the Equinox customarily occurred in my younger days. Then, as I was watching the local weather report on TV, the weather lady remarked that Winter was coming to an end in 15 minutes (!!) So I went to the Old Farmer's Almanac website (linked in the essay) and, lo and behold, the weather lady was correct! Yikes!

It's been snowing for the last two days.
Last week I was out in shorts and a cotton top slogging around in the mud and pools of standing water cleaning up winter debris. Even sat on the porch and drank a beer with the sun hot on my face. Now, it's snowing.
It's a spring type snow. Scanty. melts on contact. But it is snow.
