Empires rise and empires fall. We're living during one of those transitions which have occurred many times before. The loss of the dominance of the US dollar is happening before our eyes as American arrogance, aggression, and bullying has turned much of the world away from the US/west and toward the evolving "fair world" multipolar order. There are many signals flashing, giving warning, and it is time to think ahead and prepare for the coming storm.
This chart looks back 1400 years and charts the estimated relative supremacy of the great empires. Of note: the blue American A-frame with a peak around 1955, and the meteoric rise of red China.

What, they're asking Questions?

Finally some officials are asking questions about the pandemic response and vaccine mandates. Unfortunately not in the US (perhaps Rand Paul and Ron Johnson?), but recently in Europe. I've also got a good vaccine media spin clip for those interested. The excess deaths are getting a little play, but really very little play considering the hysteria over COVID deaths. How much have you heard? So below the graphs and the fold are EU and UK politicians asking the right questions, and a good story of BBC vaccine spin.

Album of the Week - 11-12-22

Afternoon folks!

This week we've got some excellent Chicago blues with Magic Sam and another album by a friend of his, Luther Allison. There's a bunch of other blues rock and rock with Hot Tuna (a double, live album), Ten Years After, most of Stone The Crows first album, the tragically under-appreciated Jesse Ed Davis, Van Morrison, Steeleye Span and finishing it off with a large anthology of The Easybeats who are mostly known in the U.S. for their hit "Friday On My Mind."
