Hardball 5/25

I watched Hardball last night in order to see my UAW president sell out our membership by endorsing clinton. Up until last night I hadn't watched it since the Obama/McCain race. Anyway I watched with interest when the issue of clinton's emails came up in relation to States IG report saying her server was not approved and her emails weren't handled properly. No new news there except someone official said it. But what was intriquing to me was the lengths tweety will go to cover clinton.

Open Thread Part 3 Design and Art the 40's graphic and pop art.

open thread.jpg

I really wanted to skip over the 40's through 50's as the whole graphic design word was all about the world war followed by the cold war. Not much street art or peoples art available. Most of the graphic art and popular art is war propaganda from all sides and nations.

So The Portland Chief of Police Went On A Hunting Trip

Portland Police Chief Shoots Friend In Back, Calls It 'Self Inflicted.' Is Placed On Leave

Yep. You heard me right. Another hunting trip gone bad because someone shot themselves in the back. Hey! It could happen to anyone: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=paxk_LPmdMI

A Day in the Village -- Universal Welfare Dominica Style

OK, so we have free universal medical care for people in Dominica (not the Dominican Republic), no card necessary, no paper work. But, there is a major problem in organization at the clinic. There are always doctors at the main hospitals but the doctor comes to the village clinic only once a month and has three jobs: 1) emergencies, 2) do the preliminaries before seeing the doctor, 3) dispense the (free) medications for the month. There is a pharmacist, a nurse and the doctor.

Trivial Observation (non political)

FreeCell played on a computer is different than freeCell played IRL. Whether IRL or virtual, I find it therapeutic as I explore the transition from initial to final states. My iPad's virtual version has an interesting feature: Cards that can be played to a foundation will automatically play unless a lower ranked card is locked inside a cascade. This along with the ability to reset to the initial state of play allows me to explore in great detail each game's topology.
