Teacher Unions endorse support for trans students

The American Federation of Teachers , meeting in Minneapolis this past week, passed a resolution in support of LGBTQ students and staff.

The resolution is called School Safety and Educational Opportunity for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning Students

As chair of the AFT’s Pride Caucus and a national board member of Pride at Work the fact that my union and America’s teachers are dedicating themselves to protecting students based on sexual orientation and gender identity means a lot.

Finally have wifi. Looks like I missed a lot, so I will be reading and catching up. What can I tell you about Philadephia? It' too damn hot!

My daughter and I arrived yesterday. I am back on prednisone for my illness so that was perfect timing as always. But I did finally meet Alison Wunderland and so far she has been the highlight of the trip for me. A million stories and all of them fascinating.

The rush to control borders and stop migration by excessive rhetoric and measures is non productive at best and generally counter productive.

You have Trump in the US we have Marine LePen over here, the let's hide behind walls brigade as it were. It's as if we can somehow cut ourselves off from the world in general, even if our governments have caused a lot of the problems in the first place.
