"You're Lazy", Said Every Non-Disabled, Neuro-Typical Person Ever

It's easy to judge a person who has dealt with multiple disabilities their entire lives who isn't working as 'lazy'. It's what most people do. Even people with other disabilities, i.e. "I have ADD and I do just fine."

Funnily enough, even if I were working a McJob or was working as a greeter at Walmart (Many people with disabilities often work as greeters), these same individuals still wouldn't be satisfied.

Hell, I applied for a few jobs online today and got a call back from one telling me that I'd have to work anywhere between 7 AM to 11 PM, but would be 'required' to work eight hours a day, five days a week. Of course, that reasoning leaves the door wide open to erratic schedules involving far more than 8-hour work days or 5-day work weeks. That's when I told them about my transportation situation. Of course, this was a deal breaker because elements forbid I'm not available 24/7 for whatever menial task doesn't actually need to be done.

It's ironic. The people who call us or anyone else lazy either don't seem to know how badly they're getting fucked or perhaps they simply don't care and would rather drag everyone else down with them.

And that will be the death of us all.

See ya around,

Aspie

You aren't a money maker for your boss.
I am a boss. My full time employee has MS. She gets paid a salary. She misses work. She still gets paid.
I arranged for her to have a computer set up at her home.
Look for a small company.
We small time employers just want help.
Good luck.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981

@on the cusp thanks a lot for saying that! Wow. You are a gem in the rough, in my view.

How? Tell how you want help too, please. I wonder what would happen if every employer were required to hire from the whole range of their community, instead of "the best and brightest" mentality yuge HR departments have, both public and private. BIG. Talk about robots, those HR bots one step away from replacement too. Robot Resources at your service? How can a small employer resist and still participate?

Thanks
P.S. Last year, Transportation is now the biggest source of CO2 in the USA, is why I think about local employment first, and not a climate changing commute. thx

@eyo I pay my employee more than anybody in my field pays theirs.
I pay my employee full salary no matter if she is sick and out for a week.
I give my employee bonuses.
I give my employee free legal work for her family and friends.

@on the cusp I'm going to assume those actions don't make it too much harder for you and your business, requiring external help. I don't know. If you can manage to thrive unsubsidized, I hope every employer grows up to be like you some day. Smile

Thanks.

@eyo whoever will kiss their ass/suck their corporate c*cks the most. Corporate hates me, HATES me. Because I refused to kiss up to them and knew my rights. It's not worth it.

that "sweetheart" job--work when we tell you; you have no life of your own; you are always on call; failure to follow these rules will result in immediate termination. In return for this you get to work for minimum wage with no benefits.

@irishking thanks, I didn't realize that was much more there than Sam Cooke singing. The other day I was shouting "go back to mowing, not spraying poison on everything" but the truth is if that happened, it would be California prison labor doing the work. Need to unwind Furthur, keep going until balance within reach, at least. Doses for Wall Street West why not?

... now NYSE Euronext, conducts no business operations under the name Pacific Exchange, essentially ending its separate identity.

I saw the Cons myself one day when first moved here, they did mow along the river path, now sprayed with defoliant. Again felt odd to be "protected" by the bosses who stopped work so I could walk past. I made as much eye contact as possible, you know we were all so happy to be outside in nature, that was cool. Conservation sounds so much nicer than Convict: http://www.cdcr.ca.gov/Conservation_Camps/

lol currently getting "500 - Internal server error" on links from this Public/Private About page, because of course: http://www.pia.ca.gov/Inmate_Development/JointVenture.html
"That's the system."
Edited: to say the link is up now, and too Orwellian for me to describe so go on. Free Venture Program, whee! Great America, making youth labor free so private corporations can make a profit.
