Wikileaks Releases "Rosetta Stone" Of Clinton Foundation Corruption Story

As many will note upon reading the ledes in Thursday's Wall Street Journal and New York Times, and elsewhere throughout Thursday's media cycle about the latest Wikileaks' email dump--specifically: a 2011 memo from President Clinton's right-hand-man-turned-"public-relations"-mogul Doug Band--it is now crystal clear that it was, indeed, as many have speculated for the last couple of years, Band who provided much of the ethically bereft (outright forbidden--by none other than President Obama--if not blatantly illegal) nexus between Clinton Foundation donors and the former Secretary of State and her family.

In fact, upon a full scan of Thursday's lede, readers will learn that Band (per his memo), himself, back in 2011, while running an arm of the Clinton Foundation, was taking credit for generating no less than a third ($50 million through 2011, with $66 million in potential/future revenue--see page ten of the memo, below) of all the cash that's accrued to the past-and-soon-to-be-present first family's personal bottom line(s), since President Clinton left office.

(Of course, the public was already aware that many of the current Clinton campaign's leading figures, such as none other than John Podesta and Huma Abedin, were closely involved in/aware of this effort, as well. But, the November 2011 Band memo which has just been released, and the resulting communications about it between folks such as Podesta and Abedin, makes this entire matter brutally obvious and virtually impossible for team Clinton to now refute.)

To say this extended story--about which books have been written and movies have been made; and thousands of hours of Clinton campaign staff time has been spent feebly attempting to discredit those books and movies--of "perfectly legal" American graft and corruption of the highest order, is now, as of today, to the point of being so clearly-documented, it is fair game to call the publishing of Band's 2011 memo the definitive "Smoking Gun" on the subject. Or, as the New York Times' Nick Confessore referred to "the Teneo-Clinton Foundation complex" in a series of tweets on Wednesday night:

This Doug Band memo, in the latest Podesta dump, is the Rosetta stone of the Teneo-Clinton Foundation complex.

Band's argument: I am not get fully compensated for all of the stuff I do for Clintonworld, so you should let me do Teneo. Everyone wins.

Now, you could argue: So what? If Band gets his clients to pop over money to a charity, why is that bad?
— Nick Halloween (@nickconfessore) October 26, 2016

But consider that Band was selling his clients on idea that giving to foundation was, in essence, a way to bolster their influence.

Teneo Foundation Final 11162011 by Daily Caller News Foundation on Scribd

Here's the story from Thursday's WSJ (which is slightly less-slanted than the even more pathetic coverage from the NYT; to get around the WSJ's firewall, just take the headline of the article, enter it into a Google search, and click on the first link in the search returns):

Clinton Foundation’s Fundraisers Pressed Donors to Steer Business to Former President

Two chief fundraisers for the Clinton Foundation pressed corporate donors to steer business opportunities to former President Bill Clinton as well, according to a hacked memo published Wednesday by WikiLeaks.

The November 2011 memo from Douglas Band, at the time a top aide to Mr. Clinton, outlines extensive fundraising efforts that Mr. Band and a partner deployed on behalf of the Clinton Foundation and how that work sometimes translated into large speaking fees and other paid work for Mr. Clinton.

The memo, part of a cache of emails stolen from Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, resurfaces an issue that she has had a hard time shaking: questions over the relationship between the Clintons’ charity work and their personal business.

Mr. Band and an associate introduced top corporate executives to the former president, on the golf course and elsewhere, and then asked them to contribute money to the Clinton Foundation or attend the Clinton Global Initiative, an annual foundation event...

And, for kicks and giggles, here's the "non-story" from Thursday's NY Times:

Donations to Foundation Vexed Hillary Clinton's Aides, Emails Show

In the years before Hillary Clinton announced she would run again for president, her top aides expressed profound concerns in internal emails about how foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation and Bill Clinton’s own moneymaking ventures would affect Mrs. Clinton’s political future.

The emails, obtained by hackers and being gradually released by WikiLeaks this month, also are revealing how efforts to minimize potential conflicts at the foundation led to power struggles and infighting among aides and Mrs. Clinton’s family.

One top aide to Mr. Clinton, Douglas J. Band, noted in an email that the former president had received personal income from some foundation donors and “gets many expensive gifts from them.”

Chelsea Clinton accused her father’s aides of taking “significant sums of money from my parents personally,” of “hustling” during foundation events to win clients for their own business, and of even installing spyware on her chief of staff’s computer.
Hillary Clinton, another email showed, had promised to attend a Clinton Foundation gathering in Morocco at the behest of its king, who had pledged $12 million to the charity. Her advisers worried that would look unseemly just as she was beginning her presidential campaign in earnest.

“She created this mess and she knows it,” a close aide, Huma Abedin, wrote of Mrs. Clinton in a January 2015 email.
For months, the Clintons have defended their foundation, making public proclamations that it went above and beyond what the law required in terms of transparency while Mrs. Clinton was at the State Department.

The emails, which came from the account of John D. Podesta, who had a leadership role at the foundation and is now Mrs. Clinton’s campaign chairman, have not contained evidence to support Republican contentions that Mrs. Clinton performed any favors for foundation donors.

But they do show pronounced worries among the Clintons’ closest advisers about the millions of dollars coming into the foundation, and to Mr. Clinton personally, and how they could inoculate Mrs. Clinton from criticism over it...

Last but not least, I'm adding the LA Times coverage of this story to the mix, if for no other reason than its headline...

An aide says he once arranged for $50 million in payments for Bill Clinton

A close aide to Bill Clinton said he arranged for $50 million in payments for the former president, part of a complicated mingling of lucrative business deals and charity work of the Clinton Foundation mapped out in a memo released by WikiLeaks on Wednesday.

The report was written by Doug Band, who has transitioned from his job as a Clinton aide to a partner in Teneo Consulting, a firm whose client roster now includes some of the biggest companies in the world. Along the way, Band wrote, he also pushed his clients and contacts to donate millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation, and to help win business deals for Bill Clinton.

Band wrote the memo in November 2011 to John Podesta, now chairman of the Hillary Clinton campaign, and sent copies to other key Clinton aides, apparently to explain and justify his work in the face of criticism from others in the Clinton orbit — notably Chelsea Clinton.

WikiLeaks has been releasing thousands of hacked emails from Podesta’s account in recent weeks, revealing the rivalries and controversies roiling inside the Clinton family network as Hillary Clinton prepared to run for president...

Of course, there's everything "nothing to see here." Apparently, it really was all "perfectly legal" (corruption)...and, besides, it's "all Putin's fault!"

Another four years of endless Clinton scandals, this time with a lot more substance than Vince Foster conspiracy theories or Whitewater yawn-fests. I warned the TOP crowd back in January that would happen, but the Hillbots just won't hear it.

The sooner the Republicans get after Clinton corruption, the better. Between Republicans spotlighting pay-for-play on the one hand, and Warren and Sanders pushing back on Wall Street insiders entering the administration on the other, we may see some check on rampant corruption once Hills moves into the Oval Office. With any luck, the scandals revealed will be so bad they might even lead to some legislation to curb some of the worst practices. Average folks becoming aware of the awesome corruption in the government could well lead to enough anger that one of the major parties might see some benefit in coming out against it. Republicans are going to be looking for something to rescue their party after the Trumpocalypse sinks it.

Democratic elites knew this would happen, but they just kept pushing Clinton as the nomimee. Bernie Sanders didn't have the baggage HRC has and that is one reason he was so popular. From yesterday's Washington Post, an interview with Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), Chairman of the House Oversight Committee:

“It’s a target-rich environment,” the Republican said in an interview in Salt Lake City’s suburbs. “Even before we get to Day One, we’ve got two years’ worth of material already lined up. She has four years of history at the State Department, and it ain’t good.”

Thanks to Wikileaks, we now have the smoking gun in the hands of the perpetrators, but what can we do about it? How can we rid ourselves of the Clinton corruption when there is no one to prosecute it? We know why the FBI and the DOJ declined to charge Clinton over her private server issues because the President himself knew about it.

IMO, there has been plenty of outrageous news already and yet we seem powerless to do anything about it. If Obama is worried about his legacy, it will be tied to one thing. He allowed and participated in the massive corruption in our government. He cannot paper over that fact.

I do not know how more overt this has to be before someone, anyone who has the power to do so acts against it.

If I ever take the time to publish the specifics here concerning what actually happened there, to me personally (with regard to why I'm now "permanently N.R.'ed" there), with full documentation provided by yours truly regarding same, you'd have a better understanding from whereof I speak on this subject. Long story short: Faced with the reality that the site's admins didn't have grounds to seriously "punish me" with a Bojo during this past summer, they did the next best thing and, simply, MADE SHIT UP OUT OF WHOLE CLOTH, and then did the next "best" thing by hitting me with a permanent "N.R." (Basically, in retaliation for my work--i.e.: righteously calling out Moulitsas for the true shill he's become.)

(This is all very thoroughly--and elegantly simply, if I say so, myself--documented, too. But, frankly, I'm conflicted about even wasting the time writing about it.)

This was excellent advice given by a professor friend years ago.

Suppose you are in the audience for a talk with Q & A at the end. His advice was to determine if the speaker even deserved a question.

DK does not deserve Bob's explanation. They were given advice and rejected it, strongly, and have gone their merry way.

Dailykos is so full of itself, and so much a product of the democratic party, and so blind to the real issues, that it is not worth trying to straighten them out.

Kos is successful in making money. That is all he truly cares about. And part of the echo chamber of the democratic party, and the failed politics in the country. The corporate media has failed and DK/TOP/Orange Satin has become part of the status quo.

There have been many people over the years who have tried to reach Kos, and/or complained about how they were treated there, but there has seldom been an adequate response and the DK enterprise has not changed course.

In an earlier comment I mentioned Bruno Latour. Here he is on politics.

The article begins with a linkage to Semiotics. Here is some material from wikileaks

Semiotics (also called semiotic studies; not to be confused with the Saussurean tradition called semiology which is a part of semiotics) is the study of meaning-making, the study of sign processes and meaningful communication.[1] This includes the study of signs and sign processes (semiosis), indication, designation, likeness, analogy, allegory, metonymy, metaphor, symbolism, signification, and communication.

Semiotics is closely related to the field of linguistics, which, for its part, studies the structure and meaning of language more specifically. The semiotic tradition explores the study of signs and symbols as a significant part of communications. As different from linguistics, however, semiotics also studies non-linguistic sign systems.

Semiotics is frequently seen as having important anthropological dimensions; for example, the late Italian semiotician and novelist Umberto Eco proposed that every cultural phenomenon may be studied as communication.[2] Some semioticians focus on the logical dimensions of the science, however. They examine areas belonging also to the life sciences—such as how organisms make predictions about, and adapt to, their semiotic niche in the world (see semiosis). In general, semiotic theories take signs or sign systems as their object of study: the communication of information in living organisms is covered in biosemiotics (including zoosemiotics).

I don't know much more than that. But Bruno has for a life time of work has been on a search for truth. His magnum opus of a couple of years ago described truth approaches of 15 modes of inquiry which includes science, religion, economics, etc. One of these is what he calls Double Click which is the assumption that information transfer on the click of a mouse is all that is needed , all that is necessary and all that is. Everything can be reduced to double click.

But politics cannot be reduced to double click. It is circular. Politics is important.

The phase for this essay could be "No issues, no politics." This is a way to understand how radical the Bernie movement is. Issues are front and center.

What if we Talked Politics a Little?
Bruno Latour
Ecole des Mines Paris, 60 bld St Michel 75006, Paris, France.

Political enunciation remains an enigma as long as it is considered from the
standpoint of information transfer. It remains as unintelligible as religious talk. The
paper explores the specificty of this regime and especially the strange link it has
with the canonical definition of enunciation in linguistics and semiotics. The
‘political circle’ is reconstituted and thus also the reasons why a ‘transparent’ or
‘rational’political speech act destroys the very conditions of group formation.

Above is the abstract to the article

What if we Talked Politics a Little?

I go to DK occasionally and notice the all in for Hillary organ of the DNC. I wouldn't be surprised if they got money from the DNC type money folks.

And do NOT for one second entertain the thought of getting rid of the estate tax, because that is a tax meant to keep family dynasties from gaining more money and therefore more political power.
We have a two front war, here: The multinational corporations buying our state and federal governments, and the the family dynasties that collude with them.
It's my humble opinion: Break/destroy the dynasties; our federal and state representatives won't feel as afraid to stand up to the corporations if there's no overwhelmingly powerful individuals from family dynasties bearing down on them.
Our government, now, isn't just about money... it's about influence and INTIMIDATION.

"The Russians, the Russians!" will hold off adequate attention until the election, but as Republicans plan to combat Clinton after the Inauguration I'm sure they will pick up their game. It may even be deliberate on thei part. They might prefer attacking Clinton to living with and defending Trump in the White House. happened to fall on my birthday that year and it was 10th anniversary, so I went. Thank goodness! It is where I first heard about the UTW movement. I remember Ram Das leading us all in Oom chanting. Wow. The next day I could hardly walk from all the dancing and stuff (see the cloud, it is not fog) ;-D.

Power to the peaceful San Francisco

The 10th Annual Power to the Peaceful Festival took place on Saturday, September 6th, in Golden Gate Park's Speedway Meadows, from 11am to 5pm. The Festival, which was founded in 1998 by musician and activist Michael Franti in support of Mumia Abu-Jamal, is dedicated to educating attendees on issues of social justice, non violence, coexistence and environmental sustainability. The day was kicked off with yoga at 9am in front of the main stage. Performers included Michael Franti and Spearhead, Ziggy Marley, Warren Haynes, Rebelution, Martin Luther, King Britt, Cheb i Sabbah, and a variety of renowned DJ's and other international acts. Speakers addressed a number of issues from the main festival stage and participated in a Social Forum Speaker Tent. Conscious Alliance hosted a Food Drive at the Festival to gather donations for the San Francisco Food Bank. Social and environmental justice organizations hosted informational tables in the park.

Those are great pics over there, thanks Indymedia, Mahtin & Z. Cheers.

Every time I hear the word "bipartisan" I think what did the democrats capitulate on now? Or who sold out on the democratic party side (which is what my House democratic representative did on TPP--fricking disgusting). If Hillary is elected, the gop majorities in Congress will have a corporatist soulmate in the White House. I can easily see Clinton making an offer to gop leadership to give them everything they want in exchange for not investigating her and The Bubba. The irony is that the only group that might fight Hillary in Congress are the republican tea bagger crazies--certainly not out of any moral duty but because they blindly hate her--but hey, you take what you can get.

Not like I give Bob Woodward the time of day anymore. Committing suicide by messenger I guess, because Faux News. That would be the neo-lib thing to say here. Go Bob go is what I'm saying. Go out with some integrity, unlike the rest of your generation.

Veteran journalist Bob Woodward tells the Fox News Sunday panel that the Clinton Foundation is "corrupt" and that Hillary Clinton has not answered for it.

CHRIS WALLACE, FOX NEWS SUNDAY: Then there are the allegations about the Clinton Foundation and pay to play, which I asked Secretary Clinton about in the debate, and she turned into an attack on the Trump Foundation.

But, Bob, I want to go back to the conversation I was having with Robby Mook before. When -- when you see what seems to be clear evidence that Clinton Foundation donors were being treated differently than non-donors in terms of access, when you see this new -- new revelation about the $12 million deal between Hillary Clinton, the foundation, and the king of Morocco, are voters right to be troubled by this?

BOB WOODWARD, THE WASHINGTON POST: I -- yes, it's a -- it’s corrupt. It's -- it’s a scandal. And she didn't answer your question at all. And she turned to embrace the good work that the Clinton Foundation has done. And she has a case there. But the mixing of speech fees, the Clinton Foundation, and actions by the State Department, which she ran, are all intertwined and it's corrupt. You know, I mean, you can't just say it's unsavory. But there's no formal investigation going on now, and there are outs that they have. [...]

Between 1972 and 1976, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein emerged as two of the most famous journalists in America and became forever identified as the reporters who broke the biggest story in American politics. Beginning with the investigation of a "third-rate burglary" of the Democratic National Committee headquarters in the Watergate complex, Woodward and Bernstein uncovered a system of political "dirty tricks" and crimes that eventually led to indictments of forty White House and administration officials, and ultimately to the resignation of President Richard Nixon.

This election has uncovered the Clinton corruption and the Clinton efforts to kill off the New Deal.

Thomas Frank's "Listen Liberal: Or Whatever Happened of the Party of the People" exposed many things including how Monica Lewinsky saved social security because Bill and Newt Gingrich were far down the path of initial steps to privatize SS in a super secret effort and Monica came along and even the republican attempt to kill off SS from its inception took a back seat to impeachment. (Bob knew about this, but no one I have mentioned it to had heard about this.)

The really, really big issue to me is that for the Clinton's globalization played the role of God. It was inevitable. A force that could not be stopped and Hillary is quoted in 1993 saying in order to achieve this promised land, we will have to fight your friends. So NAFTA was a F**k you to unions. Repealing Glass-Steagall (which was worked out with John Kasich) said F**k you to the people. and so forth.

It is now clear that there is no earth that can support globalization. That is impossible. Also it is impossible to return to the land of the past. The way out is Gaia.

The criticism of "progress", neo liberal economics, environmental collapse has been worked out for decades by many people including the French polymath Bruno Latour. The speech given a couple of days ago at the 40 th anniversary of the founding of Social Studies of Science conference by Bruno is one of his most readable and broad ranging of his efforts. I apologize in advance because so much background is needed to follow him, but I will still provide the link.

Is Geo-logy the new umbrella for all the sciences? Hints for a neo-Humboldtian university Cornell University, 25th October 2016 Bruno Latour

In other words, the problems of Gaia will dominate humans and politics must change focus to human and especially non human issues. Carbon dioxide is one of the most important political agents along with water.

The bad stuff about the Clintons including the short statement by Hillary is in this excerpt of Thomas Frank's book Listen Liberals

Bill Clinton’s odious presidency: Thomas Frank on the real history of the ’90s Welfare reform. NAFTA. The crime bill. Prisons. Aides wondered if Bill knew who he was. His legacy is sadly clear

I couldn't resist some quotations from that article by Frank

The term Clinton liked to use to summarize this sense of inevitability was “change.” This word is, obviously, a longstanding favorite of politicians of the left; what it means is that We the People have the power to shape the world around us. It is a hopeful word. But when Clinton said in a speech about free trade in 1993 that

“Change is upon us. We can do nothing about that.”

he was enshrining the opposite idea as the progressive creed. Change was an external force we could neither escape nor control; it was a reality that limited what we could do politically and that had in fact made most of our political choices for us already. The role of We the People was not to make change but to submit to its dominion. Naturally, Clinton thought to describe this majestic thing, this “change,” by referencing a force of nature: “a new global economy of constant innovation and instant communication is cutting through our world like a new river, providing both power and disruption to the people and nations who live along its course.”

Clinton spoke of change the way other politicians would talk about God. ...

And here is Hillary in her finest

Once Clinton was in the White House, counter-scheduling mutated from a campaign tactic to a philosophy of governance. At a retreat in the administration’s early days, Bill’s chief political adviser, Hillary Clinton, instructed White House officials how it was going to be done. As Carl Bernstein describes the scene, Hillary announced that the public must be made to understand that Bill was taking them on a “journey” and that he had a “vision” for what the administration was doing, a “story” that distinguished good from evil. The way to dramatize this story, the first lady continued (in Bernstein’s telling), was to pick a fight with supporters.

You show people what you’re willing to fight for, Hillary said, when you fight your friends—by which, in this context, she clearly meant, When you make them your enemy.

...in a single comment than many bloggers add to "the overall conversation" in a decade's worth of blogging. It's a (sincerely!) true pleasure reading your exceptionally well-sourced comments, in general, and especially in a blog post about an over-arching story that's truly as historically important (along with the historical importance of the voting public's and media's response--or lack thereof, which tells us so much about the current state of our society--to it) as Nixon's Watergate or Grant's Credit Mobilier scandals.

Yes, as big as this Clinton Foundation story is, the even greater story is the lack of the media's (and, subsequently, the public's) response to it.

Thank you for caring enough to take the time to provide some outstanding historical context for this ongoing travesty!

Look at what The Intercept has done with funding and crusading journalists.

My hunch is that wikileaks lacks the funding for its work. Even with the lack of funding they have released something like 10 million documents over the years.

We don't know when wikileaks received the Podesta emails, but following wikileaks on twitter one finds out that they had a lot of material on Clinton that was potentially damaging.

I would have liked to have this material out months ago or a year ago and this along with other revelations could have swung the primary to Bernie which would have forced the democrats to face up to issues rather than play the personality game.

An article just out counters another lie by Hillary that whistle blowers should work within the system. The article is published in The Intercept.

WHEN CIA AND NSA WORKERS BLOW THE WHISTLE, CONGRESS PLAYS DEAF

In other words, the oversight system is broken.

In the security area, there were incremental reports of spying, violating the constitution, secrecy, etc. but not until Edward Snowden gave the documents to Glenn Greenwald and others, who wrote about what was going on, not until then did the world realize how bad it was.

Hillary and Obama would rather have Edward Snowden in jail, or worse, than to have him speaking out.

He gave an interview recently and talked about investigative journalism and how their work is in extreme danger because they must rely on privacy. Snowden has become even more articulate and more important. I only listened to the first 22 minutes of the interview, but it is well worth while.

That paragraph really fascinates me. Kochavi founded Vocativ, which is a data-mining company specializing in searching the deep web. They market themselves to journalists as a method of generating new story content, but I can't imagine that it's their only clients. It's a perfect business to run if you like blackmailing politicians or burying inconvenient information beyond the reach of the public.

I don't see any reference to Clinton getting involved in Kochavi's businesses, but he does do a TV interview with Kochavi in 2012. Getting involved in a Kochavi business venture would not be a smart political move, so Clinton at least has some political instincts left.

This shows as clearly as possible that Teneo is the dirty link in the State, Foundation, Clinton, Inc. world. Every Doug Band email with Huma should be carefully examined to see whether the favor is being done for Teneo, or for the Foundation. Because it looks like the answer can be "both". And, no State Department employee should EVER have been allowed to work for Teneo while employed at State.

that Hillary Clinton's aide and closest confident, Huma Abedin, was simultaneously employed by the State Department , the Clinton Foundation, and Teneo.

Instead, in a reverse twist on a program intended to bring talented outsiders into government, Abedin was immediately rehired as a “special government employee.” She also took paying jobs with the Clinton Foundation and Teneo Holdings, a consulting firm with international clients that was co-founded by a foundation official who also was Bill Clinton’s long-time personal aide.

Abedin’s multitasking in the final eight months of Hillary Clinton’s time as the top U.S. diplomat -- and her role as intermediary for some of the same players before that -- are drawing renewed scrutiny after a conservative watchdog group’s release last week of a new batch of e-mails to and from Clinton aides. Abedin has become the personification of an election-year debate over whether the nonprofit foundation will create conflicts of interest if Clinton wins the White House.

Is Wikileaks your friend??

The information released by Wikileaks isn’t new; it isn’t groundbreaking; it doesn’t hurt the US as much as people think.

Wikileaks helps Hillary by running out the clock until the elections - everyone opposing Hillary just sitting back and waiting for that "knock out punch" by Julian Assange that will never come.

David Petraeus's guilty plea for mishandling classified information did NOT result from Wikileaks although he had more than a thousand email exchanges with Hillary Clinton.

There wasn’t a single document about the Israeli training of the Taliban or Israeli settlements in Palestine.

Nor mention of the massive drug profiteering through Afgani poppy fields

Nothing about the US-puppet Hamid Karzai and his brother - Karzai’s connections to Unocal and Zionist war criminal Henry Kissinger.

It's all about what is not told, not what is leaked. The dog that didn't bark type of thing.

------------
And where are all the arrests and indictments of those scoundrels uncovered by Wikileaks?? Name a few please. One if you count Chelsea Manning...

-------------
Snowden leaked his information through Glen Greenwald not Wikileaks.

Snowden speaks about Wikileaks:
"National Security Agency contractor turned whistle-blower Edward Snowden chided WikiLeaks on Thursday for its indiscriminate approach to leaking information, barely a week after the antisecrecy organization published 20,000 emails that were obtained in a hacking from the Democratic National Committee. The organization possesses a "hostility to even modest curation," Snowden wrote on Twitter."

they use interesting techniques that apparently work. I don't know why, but they do.

One deflection is the deny, deny, oh everyone knew and it's old news trick. Why does this work? Probably because the intensity of our opposition gets diluted. We might still be outraged but others have spent their anger. It's similar to how Obama promises to hold a national discussion about some issue he wants to bury.

Then there's the Russians deflection. The evidence shows the Clintons are crooks so "isn't it awful that the Russians have hacked us?" meaning not just Hillary's emails but all god-loving patriotic Americans' emails by proxy. So how does that work? Do Americans have the attention span of a flea?
