Back in the day, we were the Netroots. The new empowering force for liberal and progressive change. Now, based on the vitriol, sniping, and echo chambering of the MSM and recalcitrant inter party partisans we are diminished to whatever the f is going on in this place.
Look up the monthly polls from himself that showed where our hearts lay. Until there were no more polls and only the Ides of March. (Should I even bring up MB? Probably not.)
Look how many have left. Great progressive writers. Great Democrats.
Who are all these members that have been here for 2 months or less that have 100’s of comments and no diaries? Who are these long dormant members that after 5 to 8 years are commenting and diarying like the epiphany has descended? No, it doesn't matter.

I remember a long time ago MB made a remark
how much money he would get from his SS check if he were to work til 70. If I remember correctly he will be 70 by Thanksgiving this year. So, I guess he will stick it out til the elections are over. He went through a divorce. So you never know how much that has harmed him financially. So may be you are right with regards no "big retirement for MB". I hope he will be ok though. His stubborn steadfastness to "do his thing" is just so respectable.
Like you, I would never bash him for anything and have countered people here, who said pretty bad stuff about him, which I will not repeat. It's just sad to see for whom he worked so long. Kos didn't deserve him as a writer at all, after all has been said and done.

front pagers who have supported Bernie. Egberto has his own radio show in addition to the front page gig. All the rest have been in the bag for Clinton from the beginning, including elfling who had the nerve to scold pfiore about the strong language that some anonymous (supposed) Bernie supporters used toward the Nevada Dem Chair. Never mind that there was not one peep from the front page about the kiddie porn posted by Clinton suporters on Sanders websites and the corruption surrounding the voting process in the Democratic primaries or Barbara Boxer shooting a bird at Sanders supporters. Apparently language is more important than porn or election stealing. Their priorities and integrity are totally compromised over there.

Kos opposed Kucinich and Edwards. They were the most left wing candidates.
When I got to dkos in October 2006, I read Kos on the front page and considered him a moderate Dem.
Much of the "netroots" is capitalist, moderate and not left. Careerists and party hack wannabes.
The real action at TOP was on the back pages. The customers (and product) at TOP (us) (we get sold for advertising and email addies; hence we are the product also) was much more left than Kos. Edwards won every (or almost every) poll there over Obama until he dropped out.
So the people were left but not the owner.

Clark struck my fancy first, then Dean and finally Kerry. I did have an interest in Kucinich in 2004. I heard him talk before an enthusiastic crowd, but I didn't know enough about him and he was challenging the status quo too much for my brain to handle at the time. I believed Dean when he said he wanted to be the democratic wing of the Democratic party. Now he's the Democratic wing of the Oligarch party. One more betrayal.

when kos made his "Dennis Ugh Kucinich" remark. I responded back with something like "there's more progressiveness in Dennis's shit than most so called Democrats here." Nobody argued. That's when I really started to see kos for what he is.

Moyers is over at GOS with a diary suggesting unification is possible. Other diaries are being posted over there about platform appointments. I'm not reading anything in orange, so I haven't a clue what is the point of any of those diaries. So let me just say this.
I am #BernieOrBust. I mean it. The only thing that would let me vote for a Democrat is if Hillary drops out and Bernie is nominated. Hillary can offer to marry/adopt Bernie, and it wouldn't change anything one damn bit. Bernie can endorse her and that would matter even less. PUMA? You bet. I didn't leave the party, they left me. Hillary is liar. Anybody who believes a word she says is a fool.

Hillary could pick Bernie for VP and I still wouldn't vote her. The Democratic Party has exposed itself as deeply corrupt during this primary season, more corrupt than even I thot possible.
I'm till supporting Bernie, but after that, I will no longer vote for anyone running on either one of the two corporate parties' tickets. Done accepting that those are the only two choice that we have.

As for his unification theme, I think Moyers is hoping the party can be reunified. He has a few years on probably even the oldest of us and he's watched what's happened to the Party of the Working Class. We were the ones who wanted to create a more egalitarian world and save the planet. That's why the Thugs hated us and called us tree-huggers. Bill Moyers is just hoping he can live to see THAT party again. Personally I'm not so sure.

Most of the rule enforcers, though, are not the leaders,
they are the followers. I don't think authoritarian is the word I'm looking for - that's Kos. These are more the people looking to curry favor, or thinking "If the marvelous so and so says it, it must be so". Or perhaps afraid something terrible will happen if they go their own way? They're the enablers. That's not quite it either. Help!

was how the "discussion" went immediately to a pie fight over 'is this the real Bill Moyers.' and descended into name-calling, an argument about LBJ (???), more 'Oh Yeah... Sez you... you're an idiot... no, YOU'RE an idiot' I expected to read 'I know you are, but what am I?' any second. For all I know it may be there, but I didn't have the stomach to keep looking.
You had to scroll more than 3/4 of the way down the page before anybody... ANYBODY addressed the topic of the article. And then most called Moyers an idiot for writing about something as trivial as DWS because she doesn't have that much influence in the primary process (thud).
I swear, I'd say the place is more like Romper Room, but that would be giving it too much dignity.
