U.S. military battles CIA armed militants

You can't make up stuff like this.
US ground troops were attacked outside of the Syrian city of Manbij today, according to coalition spokesman Col. Ryan Dillon. They came under fire from Syrian rebels allied with Turkey, and US forces returned fire before fleeing back into Manbij.
This is a fight that many have feared was coming for months, and is particularly significant because the Syrian rebels attacking the US troops are the same rebel forces that the US was directly arming through CIA arms smuggling operations for years.
Does any other nation on Earth do stupid sh*t like this?
Other than M & M Enterprises, that is.
This puts a final exclamation point on what a bad idea the CIA arms program turned out to be, as not only did it not accomplish the regime change goals of the time, it’s armed up rebel factions that are now eager to fight US troops.
Why does this sound so familiar?
Oh, right. There was this from last year.
The fighting has intensified over the last two months, as CIA-armed units and Pentagon-armed ones have repeatedly shot at each other while maneuvering through contested territory on the northern outskirts of Aleppo, U.S. officials and rebel leaders have confirmed.
The CIA should have been shut down decades ago. They are a danger to everyone, including U.S. troops.

There's a reason we keep arming everybody under the sun
Some of those people are inevitably going to use our own weapons against us. Most people would see this as a clusterfuck of the highest order--taking problems and turning them into even more problems. But not the military industrial complex. What we call blowback, they call job security.

Exactly. It's not a bug, it's a feature.
I think the CIA is a force unto itself.
It operates independently from the elected government, is subject to little if any oversight, and pays no attention whatsoever to the US Constitution. Langley always gets carte blanche from TPTB no matter how badly it behaves.

The quoted documents are from the 1980s, but I think the attitudes go back to the very beginning. The CIA, originally the OSS, was founded to fight fire with fire, i.e. to out-Nazi the Nazis.
It’s in the whole Deep State’s DNA.
Is there any doubt that
the deep state is at war with itself. Diminishing returns on complexity. When you can create money out of nothing levels of mal investment will rise. Aren't we lucky to have the "hookers and blow" section of the deep state in charge of the executive branch ( Trump). What could go wrong?
Overthrowing governments through proxies
This has been the greatest new toy for the CIA and deep state over the last two decades. It meets no reasonable test for military action. It is illegal, it has no end goal, it is laced with unintended consequences, it has no controllable schedule and it is a threat to the entire civilized world. Who is next? The US is proving that it is a very dangerous partner and the world is taking notice. It starts with spending billions of dollars on NGOs with the words "freedom" or "democracy" in their names and then transitions to training neonazis/jihadists in Poland or Pakistan and continues with supporting the worst scum of the planet with weapons, training, a salary, and intelligence, including embedded CIA.
Gjohnsit is completely correct, the CIA needs to be dissolved. Russia/USSR dissolved the KGB and the Warsaw Pact. If we want a stable world, it's time for the US to get rid of both the CIA and NATO. If not then it's only a matter of time before the rest of the world revolts against the US.
Capitalism has always been the rule of the people by the oligarchs. You only have two choices, eliminate them or restrict their power.
We have a trade deficit with Turkey, too
We now import several billions of dollars in products from Turkey. We import products that used to be made in the US, like automobiles and steel, aircraft engines, etc. so we can weaken our own economy while strengthening theirs. I'm so old I can remember when one of the ways you fought your enemies was by NOT helping their economies grow.

Maybe we'll bomb Congress by mistake.
Wonder if FB & YouTube will ban this article because it mentions the war.

I can't possibly see how this could go wrong...
Why not arm, invite in, and show support to those that have clearly stated they want you destroyed?
Clearly it's a peace loving, enlightened society...

Very brave man! Kevin Shipp is a true patriot and an example of how we should all be standing up against TPTB. Thank you for bringing that video to my attention.
