Turning off the TV for the Next Few Months

At the gym in my apartment complex the other day this guy was watching O'Reilly Factor the day of the attacks in Nice, France...hoo boy. Of course, he had Trumpy Boy on the phone talking about how 'we need to stomp these guys into the ground' blah blah blah, but the entire show was just him and his idiot guests ranting about how Obama should have done 'more' to stop this shit. Yeah, let's bomb the shit out of the Middle East some more and create even more chaos and bullshit than we have over the past 60 years. That'll show 'em!

I watch very little TV as it is, but with shit like this, I feel like I should just go into voluntary exile until the elections are over. After all, considering Trumpy Boy's VP pick (Walking disaster and idiot anti-choice extremist Mike Pence), I think he's throwing the election anyway. Too bad his supporters will never figure it out.

See ya around,

Aspie

One doesn't have to be wearing tinfoil to figure out the freaking obvious...

The only problem is now, if they run together and they win, and then he quits, it's President Pence. Bastards!

Green. Party. Now.

My favorite News show is Democracy Now!

Watch how they handled the coverage of the attack - suggesting the so called terrorist was not an Islamist.

More than 84 people are dead in Nice, France, after an attack on a crowd of people celebrating Bastille Day in the city in the French Riviera. Witnesses said a man in a large truck deliberately drove into a massive crowd watching a fireworks celebration. The truck continued driving a mile, mowing down people in the crowd. No group has taken responsibility for the attack. French media have identified the driver of the truck as Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, a French man of Tunisian descent who lived in Nice. Earlier today, French President François Hollande announced he would extend the state of emergency put in place after the Paris attacks which killed 130 people eight months ago. We go to France to speak with Palestinian-American playwright Ismail Khalidi in Nice and French human rights and civil liberties activist Yasser Louati in Paris.

Quite a difference between this and main stream.

On youtube, try Democracy now, the real news, RT, teleSUR, and the young turks.

They reported immediately after the attack, that Hollande was going to extend the state of emergency which was due to have ended July 26. The state of emergency has been completely ineffective in stopping terrorist attacks and protecting the French people, as the video states quite clearly.

OTOH it has been widely used in suppressing dissent, where hundreds of thousands of French citizens have protested the neoliberal "Loi Travail" or Labor Reform. Hollande jammed it through the legislature using an obscure constitutional article 49.3 because he didn't have the votes to pass the "reform" legitimately. This law strips the French workers of protections that they have been fighting for for decades, and they have been protesting and striking since March in every city in France. The state of emergency has been used to beef up heavily militarized police forces to suppress these actions and jail legitimate protestors. But the MSN has not covered this important push back on the neoliberal agenda. TeleSUR has been one of the few sources I have found to accurately cover this and other important international news stories.

Trump and Hillary gave almost identical statements following the mass murder in Nice. They both called for stepped-up bombing of ISIS-held territory, without explaining how that was supposed to help anyone.

well, technically it was the satellite, but we cut it over six years ago and never looked back. I think you will find that after a brief period of withdrawal, you will not want to go back either. Best wishes.

Do I hear the sound of guillotines being constructed?

Little actions, little decisions that go toward making the world a better place and a happier place are important!
