Tulsi's opportunity for political immortality

Tulsi publicly muses about boycotting the next DNC debate. Okay, don't think of a pink elephant. So now the punditry is locked but not yet loaded to shoot if she deigns to stick her head above the political air pollution.

Next tactic--for political immortality.
Repeat--for political immortality

Immortality comparable to Julius Caesar crossing the Rubicon. Symbolically this could allolw Tulsi to make an absolutely stunning move which will forever be enshrined in political mythology. Whether my subsequent thesis comes to fruition, many would agree that the theme would be deserving such homage.

Picture this:

The following visualization for those who watched Klown Debate numero uno o dos will be useful.

I. Stage setting: Transversely oriented set of lecterns for each Contestant
Each lectern has brightly focused light onto its top. Sound reproduction is exceptionally crisp.
General lighting eliminates gross shadowing. Background is plain blue curtain with lustrous folds reflecting pleasant optical accents.

II. Enter Tulsi wearing her signature pant suite--all white. All in gleaming white standing in front of strong blue background.

iii. No one can match Tulsi* in appearance in regards to charisma (how does one poll for that?) the vision. All the men wearing dreary black sport jackets. The women will be wearing red (Pocahontas), wearing blue or black (the Camel), or wearing the Klobuchar Cloud of Invisibility.

*see statement of bias.

IV. Whatever MSM outlet hosting the Klown Show I care not. Each Contender gets their 90 seconds of glory. "Blah, blah blah. Yeah! More, more, yeah. That's it"

V. Prelude to immortality:

Network mockingbird interrogates Major Gabbard about some silly diversionary shit. Tulsi immediately abruptly turns away from the moderator.

VI. She then looks directly at the camera and tells it:
The DNC rigged 2016

DNC is trying again (and not only against her and Bernie).

"Fellow Americans, soldiers are at this moment dying in middle-eastern nations. People die needlessly daily of drug addiction. Family farms are disappearing. But the DNC suppresses all issues, which amount often to daily necessities. While I have no liking of Mr. Trump, government must return to doing their sworn duty--by the people, for the people."

Note: the above does not represent anything that neither Tulsi nor Adam Schiff have actually said.

VII. Tulsi abruptly stops talking, preceded by immediately by crescendo DNC condemnation.

VIII. Tulsi remains mute fully 10 seconds, snaps a full military turn, walking off the stage without looking back.

I can dream. But hey, this scenario is plausible, even if unlikely. If such actually happened it would be the modern signature of the Dem party irreversible rupture. The Party will not survive corporcrats, bureaucrats, other types of federal grifters all fighting for control. All the time the Squad gets underneath the scrum with sharp pointy things.

This melange spins in the bright light of public scrutiny (s/), until the momentum accumulated by centrifugal energy dislodges the corpus Demorattus into smaller pieces of excrement.

Regardless, walking off the stage mid-debate after her 90 second oration, whether advantageous or not, WILL BE IMMORTAL.

the various reactions to Tulsi's statement that she's thinking about boycotting the debate.

I was under the impression that progressives wanted political leaders who will call out the Dem establishment for its corruption, instead of just going along to get along. I had thought that we wanted candidates who have the cojones to stand up and refuse to play the DNC's game, rather than knuckling under out of fear.

It's been interesting to see people freaking out at Tulsi's statement.

There may be valid points of discussion regarding whether Tulsi should or should not sit out the debate. But what I'm seeing from a lot of so-called progressives is plain old fear.

It's getting to be put up or shut up time. Do we really want things to change? Do we really want a "political revolution", or do we want to hang on to the status quo and keep playing the establishment's game by the establishment's rules?

How badly do we want change? Badly enough to step out of our comfort zone and take some risks?

What I see Tulsi doing is getting off the establishment's playing field, and creating her own playing field.

That is exactly how major political changes take place. I don't know exactly what Tulsi has up her sleeve with this move, but more power to her.

I also see that this week Bernie's campaign has started to take on the Dem establishment more aggressively. More power to him, too.

@Centaurea

Hopefully, the matter of Tulsi boycotting the debate was just a pretty, pretty good fundraising stunt.

If she walks off the stage after giving hell to the DNC, slaps around Biden and Warren for good measure, I'll put aside my ire at her for being waaaay to kind to Ellen for her Bush shenanegans and send her a few bucks for her courage and integrity. If she actually boycotts the debate, nah, especially after I sent her money precisely because I supported her having a voice at the debates.

I imagine Bernie will go on the attack, too, and at the very least talk about his newest proposal to put the kabosh on corporate lobbyists, including former congresspeople and DNC politicos.

I heard too that he is doing to speak, since he is now a zombie, in favor of eating the rich:

@Wally Can you find one showing Hillary in the same state of decay?

I would hope that a prepared statement of her excoriating the DNC be posted to online social media, her website, major and minor news outlets and everyone on her email list the moment she starts speaking.

This would insure that her message gets out accurately (in her own words) and protects against the unlikely very real possibility that technical difficulties or a terrorist attack commercial break might obscure or interrupt her allotted time.

IMO Tulsi is arguing that the people of Iowa and New Hampshire have some sort of right to get first stay. This is the definition of an establishment view.

We wanted decent healthcare, a living wage and free college.
The Democrats gave us Biden and war instead.

@Azazello She has yet to articulate how the debates should be formatted or qualified for.

@Azazello "Let's get the evidence on the table. Let's see what's there". Not a hint of partisan hysteria. She didn't say she had an opinion about the matters except that investigation was indicated.

My belief is that her stated reasoning is true, simply stated, yet masks what I feel is a more compelling reason not to be left alone amongst the Kandidates to be singled out as a Trump-lover.

@Azazello

which shouldn't matter this far out. But she says that Carter was polling at 1% and went on to win. Just saw that Obama was only polling at 7% at this time and the rest is history. Besides it's not coming down to votes so much as what the EC will do.

I wish she would have addressed the format and the debate reality tv format. Get it back to asking real questions and give people enough time to answer. This 1 minute and 30 sec follow up is total kabuki.

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

@Azazello interview for Tulsi. Not much to come away with except she's concerned about several things.

I was a bit concerned that she fell for that conservative co-host's RW framing on impeachment generally with his question about Hunter Biden. Has there been a time when these two hosts have had an impeachment discussion where he doesn't bring up HB and only that?

How about the likely enrichment of Donald's kids from their roles at the Trump Org*? No pushback of course from Krystal -- but then she's anti-impeachment, iirc. But you don't have to be pro-impeachment to see the other side of the coin. I like her but she's too soft and passive sometimes with the RWer to her side.

*not to mention Donald's own personal enrichment, possible Emoluments Clause violations

Under "Events," I see no fewer than 37 supporter-organized "debate watch" parties set for October 15. Given this level of interest, I can't believe Tulsi is going to follow through and boycott the debate. Plus, I recall a few days earlier, her campaign even sent out a message announcing a contest drawing to fly a supporter (among recent donors) to view the debate in person. Therefore, FWIW, I'm guessing that she does participate next Tuesday, and I'm looking forward to it.

@JCWeb But walking off stage, preceded by a sharp, clear condemnation of the DNC for its corruption and a crisp military turn, exiting stage right would be absolutely spectacular!
