Yesterday, amid reports that crumbling lead pipe Steve Bannon is quickly losing sway in a warring White House, Donald Trump told the New York Post that he “didn’t know Steve” before he joined the campaign in August (that is not true) and that “he was not involved in my campaign until very late” (Bannon ran the bulk of Trump’s general election campaign). If this sounds familiar, it’s because his administration has made similar overtures before; when someone is causing Trump problems, his favorite way to deal with it is apparently to pretend he actually doesn’t know that person very well. Bannon, who refers to his West Wing office as his “war room” and speaks in what the New York Times calls a “trademark military vernacular,” seems to be getting routed by this guy. Pew pew.
Steve Bannon and Sean Spicer don't have much time left in my opinion.
Democrats seem to rejoicing in the apparent chaos in Republican circles and once again predicting the end of the Party if only pushed hard enough, to them I say: What a load of codswallop.
This is a sign that the Washington Elite is winning the ground game, exactly what some predicted would happen to Bernie Sanders if he had won. Hillary Clinton being a paid up member would have been a perfect fit, the usual partisan whining aside as that is merely used to feed the respective bases. Business as usual can now continue.
What you are seeing is the duopoly operating in all its glory, the Empire Strikes Back.
Trump will remain, if only for the diversionary and comedic value, his administration will become standardized over the coming months. The neo-liberals and neoconservatives can breath a sigh of relief, they are back in charge.

Today, I heard that Trump said the US dollar is too
strong, thanks to him. And, while, according to him, this is a good thing, it makes selling American products overseas difficult. (Please, President Not Hillary, remind me how not being able to sell American made goods abroad is a good thing for us, especially since only 17 people living in the US still have money to buy things here.)
Gee, doesn't not being able to sell American made stuff abroad sound like a good reason to make things in a country where labor is cheaper than in the US? Or, at the very least, a great reason not to raise the princely US minimum wage?

As far as Spicer, I believe that this is the first time I've heard Hitler or the Holocaust compared favorably to anything or anyone. Not to mention that Spicer's comment was factually incorrect. And, it's Passover time. Okay, he has humbly apologized, but, how clueless can you be? Not to mention he's condescending, rude--oh, and, patently dishonest.

suggested was happening was a giant game to play Russia and China off one another like Reagan did in the 80's. Could be what we're seeing with this back and forth of relations between the U.S. and Russia and the U.S. and China.
Which is why I don't give as much credit to the deep state "turning" Trump as others. I think Trump is the deep state and that we're all being played as usual. When I look at much of what he said while campaigning, it does seem to set up what the ruling elite, the deep state was headed for anyway. This was always the next step after Obama.
