Transcripts or Bust!
Submitted by Bernblu on Wed, 04/20/2016 - 12:54am
This is a variation of Bernie or Bust. If Hillary is nominee, I will definitely not vote for her in the GE unless she releases the full unedited transcripts of the speeches she gave to Goldman Sachs. I have a feeling that she spoke about the need for entitlement reform (cutting Social Security and Medicare) or possibly she spoke favorably about the privatization of Social Security that her husband wanted in 1997. Once I read the transcripts I will then be free to vote for her based on what's in the transcripts and other factors in the campaign. But no transcripts, no vote. What do you think? Does anyone want to join me in this pledge?

I will back your effort but personally ...
I will never vote for a Clinton ever again.
I honestly believe if HRC wins the D nomination (and only an act of a goddess could prevent that now imho) she will lose the General no matter what happens. Clinton's are a powderkeg to too many people on the Right...she will draw the opposition out in swarms to vote against her, no matter what the current polls show. Her unfavorables among her own 'base' are simply too high to motivate them.

Or of the DOJ...
I am hoping that email investigation wraps up before June and some indictments come flying her way.
It is a VERY distinct possibility and one of the biggest reasons Bernie needs to keep fighting all the way.
Besides, I think with California being an open primary we have a strong chance for a significant victory there.
More and more of my friends (both Indy and Republican as well as dems) that live in my old state are telling me that the longer this election goes on the more they are wanting to vote for Sanders.
ALL groups seem sick of the same ol' same ol' (except the Clintonites) and are completely fed up with the BOTH parties.

Best I can do. I won't be voting for her even if Attila the Hun runs against her.

But no transcripts, no vote. What do you think?
How many times does Lucy have to pull the football away from Charlie Brown before we get the drift?
How does revealing the transcripts change anything?
Transcripts: "GS, you can be absolutely certain I won't rock your boat. In fact, I'll put a second gravy train on the line by gutting what's left of the social safety net. Promise."
"OK, then, good enough for me. Now I can vote for her without any nagging doubts, or cris de coeur."
Seriously?

I think Attila HRC is appropriate

I may even vote for the Republican
At the start of the campaign last year I was fully prepared to support Clinton, but the private email server really, really bothered me. I work in IT and to me the idiocy and the hubris of insisting on something like that just disqualified her. We cannot have a person like that as President. As the campaign progressed and I got to see how she used lies and innuendo as the center of her campaign against Sanders instead of putting forth a positive, progressive agenda, the thought of holding my nose and voting for her left me feeling like a vote for her would be unethical.
I am at the point where I feel the Democratic Party as it now exists must be destroyed. Its corruption is massive. We all know that in a fair fight, Sanders would win the nomination. It's incredible what he has done with the cards stacked against him. But I don't think a progressive movement will survive a Clinton Presidency, and I think she must be stopped. I have come to accept the idea that for the future of the country that suffering thru four years of a GOP President might be better than Clinton and the end of progressivism. A tough choice, I haven't made up my mind yet. One thing is that I have a draft-age daughter, and I see a draft in the future to fight their wars. Who is more likely to bring back the draft to fight their wars, Clinton or the GOP candidate?
I have been toying with a similar dilemna
Do I write Sanders in or do I totally jump into the deep red ocean? Even some of he HRC supporters might get on board of the Progressive train if we had a Rep president.
Either way, we will have four years of marches, demonstrations, etc. Who do we think will listen better? Personally, I think the Dems will be too smug to listen having convinced the majority to accept their corruption. The Dems have voted with the Reps so often of late on important issues that giving them more power is not going to bring about the necessary changes. Look at how many have defended the political donations.
On TYT last night, Ana said she worried about a Rep because of abortion rights. Those rights have already been whittled down to almost nothing as it is. We are going to need a huge backlash in the midterms and in four years. That is one topic that could push it.
The Supreme Court? Look at who Obama nominated. Legislation four years from now can pretty much undo any of their political decisions.
I do not see anything different between the two platform choices other than denying HRC the satisfaction of winning by outright manipulation, lying, and cheating and giving Dems the okay to keep on keeping on. On the other hand, We the People may have a better chance of getting things done with a Rep.
I am still thinking about what to do, but each day brings me closer to actually doing something I never thought I would...vote for a Rep.
It may depend, in part, on who the Reps end up running. I am not sur eit will be Trump, and Cruz scares me a lot more.
