TOP as a strategic asset for the Democratic Party?

The kerfuffles over at TOP appear to have garnered the interests of the Strategic Culture Foundation in the form of author Eric Zuesse.

http://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2016/04/06/why-hillary-clinton-pai...

Zeusse has many less-than-laudatory things to say about TOP:

On the fake-‘progressive’ (actually conservative-Democratic-Party) website that’s run by a longtime CIA asset [Link in original article: http://web.archive.org/web/20150922015512/http:/truth-about-kos.blogspot... ] Markos Moulitsas, «Daily Kos»...

[snip]

In other words, a foolish article [Link from original article: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/2/24/1490139/-I-have-personally-been-... ] elicited over a thousand comments from foolish readers, at that Democratic-Party propaganda site. They’re just the Democratic Party equivalent of Rush Limbaugh’s Republican-Party fools – no different, except for the labels they give themselves.

[snip]

This is how enough of such self-characterizing ‘liberal’ voters become suckered into voting for a far-right (except on ‘social’ issues) candidate who is as atrocious and unqualified to serve as President as is Hillary Clinton. [Link to support derogatory assertion from original article: http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2016/02/hillary-clintons-six-foreign-poli... ]

The main focus of the article was Hillary's speech revenues, but TOP gets inserted as acting like a distraction from the real issues involved in the prices she can command. As Zeusse summarizes, "They’re pay-offs, for services that are anticipated, or else that have already been provided....In other words, her paid speeches are just a part of the legal graft she’s in politics for."

Could it be that the censorship and banishment happening at TOP are a means of keeping such realities from entering the local discussion, and perhaps weakening the "beneficial" (to Hillary) effects which TOP can hope to offer?

I don't happen to know if the assertion that Kos is a CIA asset is legitimate, but something is clearly driving the censorship and banishment of Hillary detractors there. There will be some kind of payoff for services rendered, especially if Hillary is elected and her policies take the hard-right turn I expect her to follow. She will need "progressive" defenders to justify her conservative actions, just as Obama has benefited from similar defenders. I doubt that anyone will use "eleven-dimensional chess" on her behalf, however.

I have no indication that Zeusse cares a whit about Bernie Sanders, but if anyone finds any such leaning, please include it in the comments. It looks to me like Zeusse is strictly anti-Hillary.

I personally happen to care about where Hillary's fees come from. I've been around far too long to believe that there is no quid pro quo in the amounts she's paid to appear before the firms which damaged the US economy and effectively ended the American Dream for the vast majority of our people. Anyone who has paid any attention at all to what TPP and TTIP will do to national sovereignty knows that what freedoms and liberties remain available to us are at risk, and that there are people like Hillary Clinton perfectly willing to betray us in her quest to gain great wealth in an increasingly insecure world.

I don't believe in political entitlement, especially in the form of "It's Her Turn". Just what has she done to make the next administration hers? I have yet to read anything by a Hillary supporter which can answer my question. In fact, I offer up an old tag line from ads shilling the old Smith-Barney investment firm - a company which would have been among Hillary's clients. If she wants the White House, she'll have to get it the old fashioned way. She'll have to EARN IT.

So agree, disagree, state your opinions. I have. The floor is now yours.

I went to the "Truth about Kos" webpage which then directed me to an allegedly incriminating audio of Kos, but there was no audio to be found. So I am skeptical.

That said, Kos' censorship, etc., does not help his page views. In addition, pissing off Bernie followers will only hurt HRC in the GE if she wins the primary. Moreover, polls and other evidence indicate Bernie will be the stronger candidate in the GE. So the only rational motivation for Kos to put his thumb on the scales to help Hillary win the primary would be some other kind of payoff for doing so.

a quick google search of 'Markos CIA' will provide you a treasure trove of info.
However, as I and others have posted on this very site, here is the youtube of that audio.
[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eK6CinsGYC0 width:420 height:315]

If you research the Kos (who I refer to as the PCI APO Probable CIA psyops operative) you would find that his self bio is bull freaking shit. I researched Markos in 2012 after becoming suspicious of him over some comments he posted.
I've concluded that he is in fact CIA and DKos is a false flag psysops operation. The truth may never fully be known unless in boss kos in his older age pulls a Gloria Steinem and publicly admits he was/is CIA.

Let's face it, Hillary is the CIA candidate on the democratic side, who knows who the republican CIA choice is, could be any of them.

I have heard about Kos almost since the start. He, himself, had mentioned that he was "approached" by the CIA at some point. To get to be top blog, takes money and people who know what they are doing. I always felt that Kos had avoided a lot of the growing pains experienced by others. Witness the quick growth here that suddenly put a strain on bandwith, etc. At any rate, I agree that he is an asset. Bill Clinton has been rumored to be CIA, Obama is probably a CIA project.

Even Bernie Sanders COULD BE an agent. Who knows? We all have to take our best shot and hope we have a winner.

There are certainly enough of them putting in 8-16 hour shifts at assigned duties whether it is tossing up the Pro-Shrillary & Anti-Bernie "Talking Point Diaries" and making nearly instant "Attack Comments" on any Pro-Bernie diary, and gang flagging in a concerted effort...

Their time spent doing this almost rules out their actual being working class at any other job than working at DKos...

In addition they seem to have immunity where their recommend protect each other from flagging, and on rare occasions when they do get caught with flags they tend to get almost unlimited short TO's and have a nearly unlimited number of sock puppets to work with...

Really the cards are certainly stacked there, it's hard to say otherwise...

I was flagged and told I was promoting a CT and I better stop. It convinced me I was right. I raised it again a few times and was always flagged. I'm convinced they also have trolls trilling certain people's comments in their profiles because they answer too quickly and certain ones stalk you. I stopped them from stalking me because I would praise them for it, so they stopped. It's the job of some, no doubt in my mind.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

Some progressives have been effectively co-opted and held captive by the Obama administration due to lesser-evil arguments and scary Tea-GOPers. I suppose Hillary wants to accomplish the same thing.

I can’t prove it, but I think if progressives had our own party we would be the biggest major party. Gallup says 42 percent of voters are independents. I think most self-identified independents are progressives, and you can add the progressives who call themselves Dems.

"We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."

If you include economic populists into your mix, I agree with you about being the plurality and may approach, or pass, the 50% mark. I do keep in mind that many voters are so preoccupied with their increasingly precarious financial situations that they are not as informed as others, but then they are bearing the brunt of neoliberalism.

The odds are stacked against a third party, strongly so, but Ross Perot's outfit turned into a sizable bloc and if Perot himself would have been active in it, a third party may have been born.

There was a lot of sentiment for Jackson's Rainbow Coalition to grow but Rev. Jackson himself lost interest or lacked the stamina, due to health issues, to carry on.

On the MSM, I start getting worried about what the site actually stands for.

Should have been a clue from the start, but I never thought about it much as I went into 10+ years over there.

To this day, the only time the MSM ever mentions a website is when it's either:
A. Reinforcing the dominant narrative
B. Utterly rejecting the dominant narrative in a manner that is so offensive it inadvertently reinforces the narrative.
C. Outdated.
D. Useless.

So, the minute they ever start mentioning C99, I'm going to assume we screwed up somehow. Blum 3

who is paying the front pagers who are tearing up and down the comment threads dropping turds and destroying there own reputations. Also a certain well known non-front page user who is running serious interference for Team Clinton.

The front pagers used to be pretty careful about the tone and content of their comments before the primary season - even the more notorious of the current bomb throwers.

I suspect that either Kos is paying them, or someone else is and Kos is oblivious to the fact. No other explanation makes much sense. Why would a writer be prepared to trash their own reputation (and that is all a writer has) if there were no financial benefit?

But looking back, I wonder. The original dKos Nation always took me back. Yes, there was pent up demand for an outlet, but the funding for that conference simply did not add up to the costs and fees charged.

And then there was the odd looks that he exchanged with me. He also went out of his way NOT to engage in any conversation with me, even when it was socially uncomfortable to act that way. Add to that the really poor level of his writing, and one cannot help but wonder, "How the hell did the TOP manage not only to survive, but thrive?"

Sure, it attracted some great writing, especially some folks I very much respect to this day. I learned a lot, I spent a good deal of time there, and despite my snarky commentary, I even wrote some serious pieces, some of which got on the wreck list.

Now, it resembles a kiddie playground, with the "in" gang enforcing illogical, counterproductive rules, and the even then, unevenly.

Don't know about the CIA but I do know that place sucks today and is getting worse. What I find amusing is just how quickly the pack of attack dogs get unleashed. Amazing. Disgusting. Quite probably intentional.

The latest iteration of their software is a case in point. If you wanted to keep a record (for some agency's future use), what better way than to design a site where you can never edit your words. The latest software is actually far worse than any earlier version and it was done deliberately.

The question is why? There has to be a purpose, and all lines of thought lead me to directions and conclusions that I normally try to avoid.
