Good morning and thanks. Nice backbeat, and the sax
coming in out of nowhere is cool too.

rhythm section was locked in.
The saxophonist and music teacher Henry Hayes heard about Collins from Joe "Guitar" Hughes. After seeing him perform live, Hayes encouraged Collins to record a single for Kangaroo Records, a label he had started with his friend M. L. Young.[13] Collins recorded his debut single, "The Freeze", backed with "Collins Shuffle", for Kangaroo at Gold Star Studios, in Houston, in the spring of 1958, with Hayes on saxophone.[14] Texas blues bands of this period incorporated a horn section, and Collins later credited Hayes with teaching him how to arrange for horns.
edit. still had those horns in your clip. did not release debut album until 1965.
Good morning EL and friends
Thanks for the morning greet and the vast and diverse collection of music for our listening pleasure.
I have personal good news. I got an email from the Italian Embassy informing me that Italian citizenship for me and my family has been approved. I feel as if I should now be able to now speak Italian or cook Italian food better than before - something. Instead, it's like a birthday. Something changed, but I don't feel any different. Early fall, late summer, a trip to my homeland and visit to my grandson in Sweden is on the agenda. I hope I really follow through.

Glad they didn't give you the boot! Are you going to move?

Snickerin'

No
I doubt if I ever will. I did it mostly for my three millennial grandsons, one of which is working and living in Sweden. It is their heritage, and it gives them greater global opportunity as an EU citizen. Italian citizenship will automatically pass on to their kids. Italian law says citizenship is determined by blood, not location.

Morning, dk. Congrats. Glad you enjoy the tunes.

Regio Emilia

And that's all you need to know. Heh. If you like Parmesan. I remember getting fresh pound chunks from someone who visited friends in Regio Emilia almost every year, since high school in the 60s. It was better than gold, so precious to me. There's nothing like the real thing from the real place.
I didn't get "the boot" joke. Are you Sicilian? Thanks goodness for a world map, that or a globe should be required. Not cell phones. lol
Good News! Keep going.
Reggio Emillia teaching philosophy
Thought you were talking about the teaching philosophy. I waited in line for hours to get my daughter into just such a school when she was five.
The kids voted on the theme for the year. Under the Sea won. They did hands on exercises to include all major aspects of reading, science, math, art, etc.. For instance, they researched the sizes of multiple sea creatures, and created life size replications of some. They lied (laid?) out foot to head across the parking lot in order to grasp the massive sizes of the ones that were just too big to replicate.
I did some volunteer work in my daughter's class when she was 8, and was impressed by the fact that the teacher had seated a boy with apparent ADHD near the door so he could get up and go to the restroom or water fountain at will, and not interrupt the class when doing so. Not sure if that's part of RE or if she was just an amazing 'outside of the box' teacher.
Gs! I keep forgetting the second g in Reggio
the wiki page right now.
thanks, I never knew about the teaching philosophy so I am readingcheers
"the boot" is the shape of Italy
Hey el and all
Thanks for all the music. There's a story from the early 1900's of the Georgia delegation walking out of the democratic convention when "Marching through Georgia" was played.
We play several of those old 1800's marches, but I've recently learned this one. Still working on all the words, but it's a favorite...(2.5 min)

Heya, Lookout. That's one of my favs, and I still have that
album. Ochs played it at my graduation, iirc. (Berkeley Vietnam Commencement, 1968)

Good morning, Feeesh, great take on that phrase,
and quite accurate. The mideast is what it is thanks to the way the western powers divvied up the spoils after beating Turkey.

Happy 127'th Birthday Yosemite
Yesterday I celebrated National Public Lands Day by hiking up the Four Mile trail to Glacier Point then across the Panorama trail to Nevada Falls and finished off the 13 mile hike by heading back down to the valley floor on the John Muir trail. Today I will hike 12 Miles(round trip)the back way up to the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoia Trees. Technically the grove is closed for restoration 'till November. Sunday's are pretty quiet and you can go up and check out the progress of the restoration without getting fined $5K and tossed in jail for a year. Entering the grove is a federal offense right now while the closure is in effect. Last Sunday the California Conservation Corps was working in there putting up new trail signs. Tomorrow I'll hike the 7 miles round trip from the valley floor to the top of Upper Yosemite Falls to celebrate my birthday. "Who you callin' old?" I'll post a music video for the climber from the UK who got killed in a rock fall at El Capitan this week.
Happy Birthday jbob

If Trump signs the relief bill 3 Tx Dems voted against
I'm wondering if I'll get to pull my money out of my tiny 401k without a tax penalty.

Wonder if I'd have to provide some type of proof I used it for repairs or if I could use it to move away from here. I really have nothing keeping me here anymore, especially since losing my job last week.
Arguably tax fraud; if you get checked ...

"Storm related expenses"
Getting the hell away from the coast is my plan. I'll look into it - jail is not the new location I had in mind.
Can't find ""Storm related expenses" in the bill or any real
clarity on what the funds may be used for. It does say that recipients must have been displaced from their residence by the hurricane.
