Stein--Why the Essays? And Other Stuff
Some of you may be wondering why I've started making these nearly daily essays on what's been happening with Jill Stein's run for president.
The basic reason is simple. Besides Jill Stein's reddit and possibly facebook presence, there really is no way for people interested in Jill Stein to track her progress and what is going on with her campaign. Without that, people easily fall into the impression that not much is happening with the campaign, and they lose interest quickly.
My impression of what is needed is more of a daily (or nearly daily) upload so that people can see how things are progressing. So, that's what I'm trying to do. I am only really focusing on ballot access and polling results so far (it's all I have time for at the moment), but other topics could start appearing as ballot access winds down.
This, I think, has been a big problem with third-party runs. Jill's website isn't updated super frequently, and maps showing ballot access are sometimes updated immediately, but sometimes it takes a week. I, myself, do not do Facebook--so, besides reddit (which has very little structure), people like me are left out in the cold.
Not only that, but the more forums and places that these types of updates regularly appear on, the more eyeballs have access to them! It's good advertising, showing that progress is constantly being made, and that the Green Party is actually out there and campaigning in very active ways.
I'll leave you with this good article on where Jill is at from a couple days ago by IVN:

I appreciate the diaries.
44,000 signatures in Oklahoma? Out of a total population of 4 million? That's ridiculous.
And I did not realize that stein's running as an independent rather than green in Alabama. Thanks for the clarification.
Do you have any reason why she did this? I'm guessing it was easier.
I Would Guess
I really don't know, but I'm guessing the same thing. It's a really informative article.
I think the deadline for an independent is later than 3rd party

I thought it was interesting. Are they worried?
CNN Made a Jill Stein Campaign Promo Just in Case Hillary Clinton Drops Out 29th August 2016
2,985 views 4 days ago
With WikiLeaks set to release damning evidence on Hillary Clinton's massive multi-million dollar fundraising efforts from foreign governments whilst being Secretary of State and with the potential that she may be charged over these matters CNN has decided to do a promo for Jill Stein who is increasingly looking as a Plan B for liberals and progressives alike in case Hillary Clinton is charged and forced to drop out of the presidential race.

I've found the best way
to keep up-to-date with Stein's campaign.is to follow the many Tweets posted daily to her Twitter account @DrJillStein either by her or her staff.
You don't have to be on Twitter to do either (I'm not). Just search for her Twitter handle using a search engine, click on it, then bookmark her Twitter feed once you've found it.
After that, check her Twitter feed as often as you feel like it.

Her Facebook Page is pretty
Her Facebook Page is pretty active, too.

I created a dummy FB account to read her updates
I used a very common name, and unsubscribed from the 3-4 spam emails trying to drag me further in and it's been pretty uneventful since.

I like these essays. I'm involved in Kentucky, but not going out
of my way to see what's happening otherwise. I appreciate the updates here.

I want to know anything about Stein,
good, bad, or ugly.
She is a choice for our immediate future, and anything that can size her up against Hillary or Trump is appreciated.
She may not rise to the occasion, but I want to know about the "try".

Could You Cover Ajamu Baraka?
Looks like I missed a pie fight yesterday about an interview Baraku gave to some dude named Barrett. http://www.veteranstoday.com/2016/08/16/ziosmear/
It looks to me like a standard establishment smear job and guilt by association. Same thing they did to Bernie.
I'd like to know your thoughts/take on Jill Stein's VP choice apenultimate. I've been a casual follower of The Black Agenda Report, which is on the c99% blogroll.
Looking forward to any information you can share.

Done!
Did another essay on the topic.
Some people are going to visit college campuses
for voter registration and education about the Green Party program. I think that's really important.
I contacted nearly all of the student run newspapers in the US [625 of them] and urged them to run some information about forgiving student loans. Some ignored me, some were enthusiastic, some said no thank you, and a couple said Hell No. At any rate, the information will be spread some.
Nearly all of the papers were connected to 4-year institutions I'd like to figure out a way to contact community colleges but haven't figured that out yet.

btw, if you go to fb and search for "students for stein"
you'll find a few college student sites that are campaigning for stein/baraka. They would probably appreciate the attention.

Thank you very much for these diaries.

Jill News Roundup?
Thanks for doing this. I sometimes get ready to post something, but you usually beat me to it!

Adding my thanks, too!
And for exactly the reason you stated: if the MSM won't talk about
Jill's campaign, it's up to us to keep the information flowing. Thanks!

South Dakota is special another way
Besides the electoral college access measurement, Jill has managed to attract reportable campaign contributions from every state. IMO this is another measure of a national candidate - being able to raise money in every state - and Jill meets that bar too...
...except for South Dakota.
Anyone know what's up with SD?
