Seth Rich Boulevard to Open in Moscow

The lovely tree-studded Bolshoy Devyatinsky Lane in Moscow is getting a new name. In a ceremony in early March it will be renamed Seth Rich Boulevard in Honor of Seth Conrad Rich, the slain activist who leaked the derogatory emails of the Democratic National Committee that proved election rigging against Hillary Clinton's presidential opponent, Bernie Sanders.

Rich was killed near the White House a year and a half ago. He was not robbed. He was conscious and speaking when the police arrived, but it is unknown what he said. The Democratic Committee worker was shot by an unknown assailant(s) just days before he was to testify in a lawsuit brought against the DNC for election rigging during the Democratic Primaries — and twenty days after it was learned that the downloaded emails were in the hands of Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange. The DNC has denied any involvement in his murder, which has never been solved by the police or the FBI, who are still in possession of Rich's personal computer..

"The Moscow City Council approved, unanimously and on an emergency basis (pending passage of permanent legislation), the re-naming of the portion of Bolshoy Devyatinsky Lane in front of the US Embassy to honor slain democracy activist Seth Conrad Rich," reads a January press release.

The bill's sponsor, Councilwoman Ivanka Karloff, told Reuters News the bill was not related to accusations of Russian election interference in the 2016 US Presidential election.

Yeah. That didn't happen.

But here's what did happen:

The Washington, D.C. city council on Tuesday officially renamed a street in front of the Russian embassy in honor of a slain critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Dozens of attendees gathered for an official ceremony renaming a portion of Wisconsin Ave. NW as "Boris Nemtsov Plaza" in honor of a top Putin critic who was murdered in 2015 after calling for rallies against Putin's government.

Nemtsov was killed near the Kremlin three years ago. The top Putin critic was shot by an unknown assailant just days before he planned to take part in a peace rally against Russia's involvement in Ukraine. The Kremlin has denied any involvement in his murder.

Tuesday's ceremony follows a unanimous vote last month to rename the plaza, a vote that the bill's sponsor, Councilwoman Mary Cheh, told The Associated Press was not related to allegations of Russian election interference.

"The Council also approved, unanimously and on an emergency basis (pending passage of permanent legislation), the re-naming of the portion of Wisconsin Avenue in front of the Russian Embassy to honor slain democracy activist Boris Nemtsov," reads a January press release.

I sent this as a suggestion to the Russian Embassy in DC. But you know how Putin is. He doesn't engages in petty political bullshit like the US does.

Maybe this time will be different. Stay tuned.

just to stick it in the face of our deep state dipshits. They might rename streets after MLK Jr, RFK, etc in front of U.S. buildings. Maybe Seth Rich Plaza will have at least two bike racks.

Civil society

In an email interview with The St. Petersburg Times, the group explained their political positions further, saying that members' perspectives ranged from anarchist to liberal left, but that all were united by feminism, anti-authoritarianism and opposition to Putin, whom members regard as continuing the "aggressive imperial politics" of the Soviet Union. Group concerns include education, health care, and the centralization of power, and the group supports regional autonomy and grass roots organizing. Members regard unsanctioned rallies as a core principle, saying that authorities do not see rallies that they have sanctioned as a threat and simply ignore them. For this reason, all of Pussy Riot's performances were illegal and used co-opted public space. Interviewed by the BBC during rehearsals the day before the Cathedral of Christ the Savior performance, band members argued that only vivid, illegal actions brought media attention.

source

And yes, they did get in trouble for sacrilege when they invaded the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour on February 21, 2012.

I have a soft spot in my heart for anarchistic activists......

At least they weren't tackled, flung to the ground, piled upon, beaten and pepper-sprayed/shot by the (non-militarized) police arresting them, as happens in the good old US of A. Just arrested for disturbing the peace outside a church, as would have been planned as part of the public-attention-drawing protest action.

So, yeah, I like Pussy Riot and am glad that they were in no danger of the sort of often-violent repression suffered by peaceful American protesters doing nothing illegal at all, just exercising their Constitutional rights in petitioning their government for redress against injustice - to be met with more.

Voina, not Pussy Riot. A woman who would later become a Pussy Rioter, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, did participate; she was quite pregnant at the time. I fail to see what is the problem: are we against fucking now?

One of the participants, Alexei Plutser-Sarno, described it not as radical but simply honest. "This is a portrait of pre-election Russia: everybody fucks each other, and the puppy bear [their nickname for Medvedev] looks at that with an unconcealed scorn."

When was the US EVER for fucking in public to make a political statement?

There are a lot of American supporters of Pussy Riot ONLY because of it's anti-Putin propaganda value. These people would not support Pussy Riot if any of their agi-prop was performed in the US.

The "everybody fucks each other" is a legacy of 1990's Russia when the US was, literally and figuratively raping and pillaging the country. The death rate in Russia soared. People were starving. Many Russian women (even young girls) resorted to prostitution to help their families put food on their tables.

Abby Martin interviews Mark Ames. When Ames was running a newspaper in Moscow, he ran an article about testing Viagra. He wanted to test how many Russian prostitutes he could fuck on one dose of Viagra.

talking about the US, I'm talking about this site: are we supposed to get the vapors because Voina fucked in a political action? Which, I'm sorry, was not about the 1990s, but about Medvedev; among other things, his call for an increase in the national birth rate. Hence the fucking: isn't that how one increases the birth rate?

It's the American way. Do something notorious then rake in the bucks in the entertainment scene. American MSM and US State Department played them like puppets on a string for their propaganda value. Now they get their rewards. As long as they stick to the concert circuit they will enjoy America's "freedom" to the max. Maybe even become American citizens by having their convictions overlooked by immigration.

Here's how it went down in Putin's big bad police state Russia.

[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grEBLskpDWQ]

I'm really disappointed with the Russian cops performance. Not one body slam to the marble floor. Of course the courts made up for this by giving a long jail sentence - just what they needed to give their careers a big boost. From rags to riches in less than two years.

What do you think would happen if Pussy Riot did some agi-prop at the Jefferson Memorial? They could do a nice song and dance routine about the American police state preventing Americans from being able to do what the fuck they want, wherever the fuck they want.

Here's a fair game turn-about from RT.

[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWeF6lwg4aY]

Maybe Pussy Riot can perform a gig in the House of Representatives and the Pentagon? Some advice though, they should wear bullet-proof vets.

you opine "Pussy Riot wouldn't get far in the US," then, presented with the reality that isn't true, you complain they are "rak[ing] in the bucks in the entertainment scene."

Anyone interested in "how it went down in Putin's big bad police state Russia" should try this: those who don't already understand that your comment that "the courts made up for this by giving a long jail sentence—just what they needed to give their careers a big boost" is repulsive and shameful, will understand it then.

That the "MSM and US State Department played them like puppets on a string" is false. They are puppets for no one. They swallow no bullshit, whether "USA! USA! USA!" or "We Wuv Putie!" As Tolokonnikova last year wrote:

We’ve passed those ivory tower times when those who live in America had this luxury of not paying attention on what’s going on in Russia. We’ve passed the times when I could care just about Russia and don’t think about the US politics. Let’s care about each other, and let’s oppose these misogynistic cannibals who have grabbed the power all over the globe. Cut their greasy tentacles, don't let their neo-fascist plague spread.

Let’s be clear: it’s not “traditional values”, it’s oppression, it’s a support of violence and it’s a protection of old privileges. Fuck this shit.

I don’t think Masha Geesen, and her criticisms of Russia should be negated from consideration. One may not agree with her perspective, but she certainly has one very closely related to reality. With reflection, shouldn’t there be a valid place for her experience?

we now have more proof

When Empires Die
February 27, 2018

When empires begin to die, their public acts–in sharp contrast to the ponderous, stately sobriety of their behavior while ascendant–tend to be marked by queer and pathetic eruptions of idiocy, bathos, and mania.

Though it can’t be known when our last Imperial Clown will douse the last lights of The Exceptional Empire and drop the keys in the mailbox for the last failed bank–America is showing clear signs of approaching meltdown.
...
The American Empire, enmeshed and floundering in a smothering net of contradictions, deceptions, and disastrous choices, is now playing out a pathetic absurdist farce before a fascinated and astonished world.
...
Putting aside the fact that America has no democracy, and never has had, the DNC honchos finessed their treachery while raging at their putative hijacking by enemies of America. In other words, the crime was not the fact of gross DNC misfeasance, but the horror that it was exposed by evildoers.
...
The lunacy of this futile and fatuous greased pig chase is only equaled by the determination of the Democratic Party to continue to inflict it on itself.

well, well, well,

a few days ago I posted an article from Zero Hedge which mostly relied on the info from Kim Dotcom, the maker of megaupload who has been charged with the largest copyright penalty in history for his file sharing program (like a Xerox machine) and has a huge legal effort to not be brought to the US for trial. He lives in New Zealand.

Here are some things that are new to me. They are probably old hat for those who have followed the case in detail. When I posted the last time I said that I didn't see any good reason for Kim to lie.

Donna Brazile in the dedication of her book on the DNC praised Seth and she said that after he was murdered she took actions to protect herself.

When at work at the DNC Seth wore panda T-Shirts. Remember the panda.

I searched for stuff and found that the #sethrich has been active right now. As I composed this there are 14 new tweets.

I had seen some tweets from kim dotcom but had not seen this statement which was posted on his web site. I changed the format from the size of the letters.

SETH RICH WAS INVOLVED IN THE DNC LEAK.

I know this because in late 2014 a person contacted me about helping me to start a branch of the Internet Party in the United States. He called himself Panda. I now know that Panda was Seth Rich.

Panda advised me that he was working on voter analytics tools and other technologies that the Internet Party may find helpful.

I communicated with Panda on a number of topics including corruption and the influence of corporate money in politics.

“He wanted to change that from the inside.”
I was referring to what I knew when I did an interview with Bloomberg in New Zealand in May 2015. In that interview I hinted that Julian Assange and Wikileaks would release information about Hillary Clinton in the upcoming election.

The Rich family has reached out to me to ask that I be sensitive to their loss in my public comments. That request is entirely reasonable.

I have consulted with my lawyers. I accept that my full statement should be provided to the authorities and I am prepared to do that so that there can be a full investigation. My lawyers will speak with the authorities regarding the proper process.

If my evidence is required to be given in the United States I would be prepared to do so if appropriate arrangements are made. I would need a guarantee from Special Counsel Mueller, on behalf of the United States, of safe passage from New Zealand to the United States and back. In the coming days we will be communicating with the appropriate authorities to make the necessary arrangements. In the meantime, I will make no further comment
