Breaking news:
From Bernie Sanders’ Team Just Accused Hillary Clinton of Violating Campaign Finance Rules
On the eve of the New York primary, the Bernie Sanders campaign accused Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee of skirting campaign finance rules by using funds from a joint fundraising committee to benefit Clinton's presidential run.
From Sanders Campaign Accuses Clinton and DNC of Violating Campaign Finance Rules
In a statement released Monday, the Sanders’ campaign wrote that the joint fundraising committee Hillary Victory Fund (HVF) is being “exploited” to solely benefit Clinton’s campaign for president.
From Bernie Sanders Just Accused Hillary Clinton of Violating Campaign Finance Laws
As Politico reported this weekend, the Hillary Victory Fund (HVF), which was designed to be a joint fundraising effort between the Clinton campaign and the DNC to help Democrats win down-ticket races, is unloading unusually large amounts of cash to Hillary for America (HFA) — Hillary Clinton’s official campaign account.
From Sanders campaign slams Clinton-DNC fundraising agreement
Brad Deutsch, the lawyer for the Sanders campaign, wrote an open letter to DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz
"The Hillary Victory Fund has reported receiving several individual contributions in amounts as high as $354,400 or more, which is over 130 times the $2,700 limit that applies for contributions to Secretary Clinton's campaign," the letter reads. "Bernie 2016 is particularly concerned that these extremely large-dollar individual contributions have been used by the Hillary Victory Fund to pay for more than $7.8 million in direct mail efforts and over $8.6 million in online advertising, both of which appear to benefit only HFA by generating low-dollar contributions that flow only to HFA, rather than to the DNC or any of the participating state party committees."
And of course, the response from Hillary Clinton Rips Shameful Sanders For Baseless Campaign Finance Violation Allegation
The Sanders campaign’s false attacks have gotten out of hand. As Senator Sanders faces nearly insurmountable odds, he is resorting to baseless accusations of illegal actions and poisoning the well for Democratic candidates up and down the ticket. It is shameful that Senator Sanders has resorted to irresponsible and misleading attacks just to raise money for himself.
Instead of trying to convince the next generation of progressives that the Democratic Party is corrupt, Senator Sanders should stick to the issues and think about what he can do to help the Party he is seeking to lead.
Furthermore, we call on Senator Sanders to end his frivolous and cynical lawsuit against the DNC, which continues to drain resources needed to help Democrats up and down the ticket win in November, and protect the progress we’ve made under President Obama.
You got to hand it to Sanders. He understands timing and how to stir a hornet's nest. = )

I have to wonder what's happening with the lawsuit
claiming electoral fraud in the NY primary -- they've got to decide something tonight, or...
The ruling classes need an extra party to make the rest of us feel as if we participate in democracy. That's what the Democrats are for. They make the US more durable than the Soviet Union was.
Have not seen a report on action being taken
other than they were "expected" to file the lawsuit today (Monday). Here the story from RT: NY voters file lawsuit on eve of primary alleging ‘a threat to the democratic process’
I hope this blows up in DNC's face.

And of course, First Amendment
Is all over this story spinning it Hillary's way and making Bernie look bad.
After Steven D and bobswern both wrote fact filled diaries about all of the things 'progressives' used to hate when it was the republicans doing them, Hillary's supporters came out in droves to defend her.
Once that site was against big money in politics, wars of aggression in the Middle East, the banks getting too big to fail or jail and all the other things that the republicans did. But once Obama and Hillary started doing the same things, suddenly those things were acceptable.
The site bitched and moaned when the democrats wouldn't stand up against the republicans and represent we the people, but now that there is a candidate that is expressing everything that people on that site wanted, they're going to vote for the corrupt candidate.
Some one explain this to me because it doesn't make any sense.
Onn the bright side, they are posting
those stories and comments at a centrist HRC site, so anyone wandering in will recognize it for what it is.
Fear. People generally do not like being alone during a catastrophe. They tend to seek out others to share their feelings with. In order to remain with the herd, they must learn to think (or at least make the same noises) like the herd. (cf 1984).

Need any more proof that HRC is a Republican?
HRC wrote an article for a right-wing blog, spouting a right-wing message. The next time she or her supporters claim that Sanders is using right-wing talking points, please point them to this article: Hillary Clinton “goysplains” to Bernie Sanders in Passover article, accusing him of betraying his people by criticizing Israel

"Right-wing democrat" isn't really such an oxymoron:
there have been many, many in the long history of the organization.
Hawkish, unremitting support for the right-wing in Israel (essentially) and the most militantly hostile Zionist narrative possible about the Palestinians, has been a mainstay of mainstream Democratic politics for a long time.
Kowtowing and 'triangulating' to right-wing narratives goes back past McCarthyism....
Just commenting that I'm not sure the title "Democrat" is in any way reserved for the virtuous.

True, for whatever reason I had an instinctive
dislike for LBJ as a very young person at the time (I think it had something to do with holding his dog up by the ears). I have a bit less harsh view of him now then I did then. I did not vote for WJC either time as I did not like him, nor did I vote for Obama because I did not trust him.

They knew something would happen
This is why the Sanders campaign has been so confident all along. They understood their opponent. They knew that under enough pressure, she would start to make mistakes like this. There was always the risk of something blowing up in her face (Benghazi, email, etc.) but the ace in the hole was campaign finance law. Given her history, money might start to slosh around uncontrollably when things got tough, and then they could pounce.
I don't know if it will stick, but my hat's off to them for brilliant tactics.

Poor Elijah Cummings has to be so conflicted
He sounds like a Sanders supporter who somehow got stuck with HRC.

You expect this kind of
You expect this kind of cheating from the Karl Rove Republicans.
So long, and thanks for all the fish
How different is David Brock
from Karl Rove? How different was Clinton's SOS from Kissinger's? (Remember his hidden vault?) With only a slight nudge, we could probably ask how different are some of her policies from GWB's? I looked up Goldwater's record. She is to the right of him in almost everything. To me, this all spells Republican.

She's a Republican
Except for abortion and guns, she's right of many Republicans. But no worries, she's also a gymnast, so it's only a matter of time before she
flip flops"evolves" on those too.Ironically, though, Republicans hate her more than they hate Castro. She's Obama in a skirt. We only think we've seen obstruction from the fit throwers. Let Her Highness take the white house, and all hell will certainly break loose. I don't think she'll win a general, though, and I'm seriously pissed so many people just refuse to see it. Republicans will flock to the polls to kick her ass.
Given her current stance on guns
is only politically motivated and her stance on abortion is not 100%, I would not list them as exceptions.
I can see her putting Social Security on the table, and when people complain saying "Well, Obama did it." I think she is much worse than Obama and that backroom deal that he made to support her in the 2016 run is (hopefully) keeping him awake at night. Faust is laughing.
