Remember those Tik Tok kids?
By now you've heard about that Texas abortion law, and the despicable clause regarding the $10,000 bounty for finking on a neighbor.
Hopefully you also remember the Trump rally in Tulsa last year that the kids on Tik Tok pranked.
oh no! I just reserved my tickets for 45’s rally on JUNETEENTH in TULSA and completely forgot that I have to mop my windows that day! now my seats will be EMPTY! I hope that everyone who sees this doesn’t make the same mistake I did! We want to see all 19,000 seats full! pic.twitter.com/R9xVM3BXay

What do those two things have to do with each other?
I'll give you one guess.
The law makes it illegal to help women in Texas access abortion after the sixth week of pregnancy. To help enforce it, anti-abortion group Texas Right to Life established the digital tipline where people can send anonymous information about potential violations.“Any Texan can bring a lawsuit against an abortionist or someone aiding and abetting an abortion after six weeks,” the website reads, and those proved to be violating the law can be fined a minimum of $10,000. An online form allows anyone to submit an anonymous “report” of someone illegally obtaining an abortion, including a section where images can be uploaded for proof.
Prior to the supreme court’s decision in Texas, Roe v Wade stopped laws that banned abortion before a fetus is viable outside the womb, generally regarded as 24 weeks. But pro-choice users had other ideas, bombarding the site with false reports and fabricated data through a campaign primarily organized on Reddit and TikTok.
Though the site was launched a month ago, the fake reports came flooding in on the eve of the bill’s enactment. One TikTok user said they had submitted 742 fake reports of the governor, Greg Abbott, getting illegal abortions.
...An activist who goes by the name Sean Black said he programmed a script to submit reports en masse on the website automatically. He said his data shows nearly 8,000 people have used the Python code and 9,000 have used the iOS shortcut. Others have been inspired by his coding against anti-abortion advocates, saying collaborators across the US are working with him on 10 “active branches” of new features in the tool.
Isn't that a darn shame. All of those kids feeding their web site for snitching bad info.
The good news is that you can't mess with Texas, because they were ready.
Still, Kimberlyn Schwartz, director of media and communication for Texas Right to Life, told USA Today that those trying to crash the site have failed. Her organization "completely anticipated this and were prepared for all the trolls coming to the website," she said. While the whistleblower site has since required filling out a captcha before submitting tips, Black assured Vice's Motherboard that he is currently working on overcoming that "hurdle."
They were so "ready" for it that they only rolled out the captcha after the Tik Tok kids overwhelmed it. Good luck to Texas at being messed with.

I also like the approach put forth by the Satanic Temple:
It's unconstitutional for the state to interfere in religious practices, right?
Hail Satan!
I think this will feed the rabidly religious shock troops
By “proving” that abortion is the work of the devil.
I saw a Judaic scholarly refutation of the law on Facebook that shows that the Old Testament did not forbid abortions. That is the way to go IMO.

Since Yahweh or God caused the deaths
of millions of children and millions of fetuses throughout the biblical fables, I don't think HE or SHE or WHATEVER has the moral standing to say anything about abortion.

I don’t mean to justify the
Bible, so much as to head off the New Witch Trials of 2021 complete with torture and executions. On the other hand, there may already be no way to stop it.

@Lily O Lady good. Let them
I think women should sign a paper before an abortion
that her religious beliefs compelled her to make that decision. If religionists can use their beliefs to avoid laws, so can pro-choice women.
