A PSA from the Lawyers Committee for a 9/11 Inquiry

LEGAL VICTORY REGARDING AGENCIES’ NONDISCLOSURE OF 9/11 RECORDS
A six-year legal battle against the National Institute of Standards and Technology [NIST] and the Federal Emergency Management Agency [FEMA] to get access to data they used in preparing FEMA’s Building Performance Study of the collapse of World Trade Center [WTC] buildings on 9/11 has culminated in a court decision granting discovery to 9/11 researcher David Cole. Cole, the plaintiff, is represented by Lawyers’ Committee attorney Mick Harrison. The Lawyers’ Committee has supported this litigation from the start. NIST and FEMA fought to dismiss Cole’s Freedom of Information Act case but on December 21, 2021, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia denied their motion for summary judgment and granted Cole discovery. Discovery will allow Cole to inquire via depositions, document requests, and interrogatories into why FEMA and NIST failed to disclose key records known to exist regarding the collapse of WTC buildings on 9/11.

Cole submitted his FOIA request for records of the background and raw data FEMA used for its Building Performance Study on May 20, 2011. Among the items Cole requested were photographs, video, audio, field notes, memoranda, lab samples and lab results. FEMA initially claimed they had no responsive records. Later, they said they had sent all their records to NIST without keeping paper or electronic originals or even copies for themselves. NIST and FEMA then delayed releasing any records to Cole for four years. Cole sued the agencies in November 2015. The following April, the agencies produced some records to Cole but withheld key responsive agency records that were known to exist, including a set of WTC-related drawings, CDs and a video.

The recent court decision granting discovery should enable Cole to discover the fate of these key 9/11 agency records that NIST and FEMA have refused to produce for so long. If those records still exist, as they should, Cole will be able to ask the Court for an Order that these records be provided to him and the public. A detailed synopsis follows for those who wish to dive deeper into the details. The full 41-page decision by the Court is posted on the Lawyers’ Committee website. The Lawyers’ Committee will keep you updated on this historic case for which we will need your ongoing support to see us through discovery and final decision.

LC Grand Jury Petition 1 Exhibit 16- WTC 7 Free-Fall Collapse

The original 7 World Trade Center was 47 stories tall, clad in red masonry, and occupied a trapezoidal footprint. An elevated walkway connected the building to the World Trade Center plaza. When the building opened in 1987, Silverstein had difficulties attracting tenants. Salomon Brothers signed a long-term lease in 1988, and became the main tenants of 7 WTC. At the time of the September 11, 2001, attacks, Salomon Smith Barney was by far the largest tenant in 7 World Trade Center, occupying 1,202,900 sq ft (111,750 m2) (64 percent of the building) which included floors 28–45. Other major tenants included ITT Hartford Insurance Group (122,590 sq ft/11,400 m2), American Express Bank International (106,117 sq ft/9,900 m2), Standard Chartered Bank (111,398 sq ft/10,350 m2), and the Securities and Exchange

Commission (106,117 sq ft/9,850 m2). Smaller tenants included the Internal Revenue Service Regional Council (90,430 sq ft/8,400 m2) and the United States Secret Service (85,343 sq ft/7,900 m2). The smallest tenants included the New York City Office of Emergency Management, National Association of Insurance Commissioners, Federal Home Loan Bank, First State Management Group Inc., Provident Financial Management, and the Immigration and Naturalization Service. The Department of Defense (DOD) and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) shared the 25th floor with the IRS. 2 Floors 46–47 were mechanical floors, as were the bottom six floors and part of the seventh floor

NIST.gov says WTC 7 collapsed in ~7 seconds because office fires caused thermal expansion in a girder. Click here for the official FAQ.

It's not likely I'll be back to answer comments (if any) today, at least. My apologies, but this news came in their newsletter weeks ago, iirc.

I never paid much attention to the so-called conspiracy theories until I sat in a bar in NYC, chatted with a retired fire fighter who told me some strange things about working that area on 9/11.
Maybe, before I die, we will get to see the JFK investigation files...but, I digress.

Nor did the report from across the pond reporting on the demise of building #7 15-20 minutes before it’s actual demise. In fact that set the tone for me that something else was going on. Then there was the confiscation of video evidence of a plane hitting the pentagon and no actual plane, people or luggage scattered across the ground. The hole seemed kinda small too.

Firefighters were on tape the day of saying that they had heard lots of BOOMS going off too just before the towers collapsed and were being pulverized on the way down. I’m hoping that we see the truth before I die too. Including on the death of JFK.

It is not until the tide goes out that you discover who has been swimming naked.

@snoopydawg @snoopydawg he and others were put at a specific place to do triage before anything went down. He was unwilling to get into details, but told me it did not go down as it was told by the media. At all. He just said he saw too many things and did things that just didn't match up with planes flying into buildings as the cause of the buildings damage. And he bought me a beer, said "Don't believe the official story. I was there, and know better."
I have been to that hotel a couple of more times, always checked the sports bar to see if he was there. He lived nearby, was such a regular, he went behind the bar and pulled his own booze, wrote the ticket for it.
One day...
edit: it was the Radisson near JFK Airport. I have stayed there 3 or 4 times. He was a basketball fan, could walk to the hotel from his home.

@snoopydawg

The official story sounds like something a teenager came up with.
