The problem with Bernie Sanders is that he has the exact same message he had four years ago.

This quote comes from none other than Markos Moulitsas (surprising no one).

Bernie's Response?

Some call it a bug, I call it a feature.

@wokkamile @wokkamile He appears to deal gently with female competitors (or perhaps Democrats in general?) but has been going after Trump pretty heavily for several years now, calling him names, etc.

The video link shows as an embedded video for me, but maybe the link alone will work for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rr5GZl_4UAY or possibly Niko House' youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFAQyZq0NqfCwVkRQoXpx0A which could also be located by doing a search on "mi casa es su casa" niko house, then clicking on the "Video" tab and selecting "Bernie Sanders Wins, Loses, and Draws Both Debates."

at risk of becoming redundant.

This is coming from someone who never was a member or posted at KOS or gives shit about what MM has to say. And who supported Sanders in 2015-16.

Even in 2016 Sanders notably was repetitive and this then worked for him by repetitively driving home and not straying from his message. At his rallies it became like the Rocky Horror Show, where his supporters already knew the entire script, and repeated it with him word for word.
“$27 a donor”

This is where, I might disagree w most.

While he needs to keep driving his quintessential message home, in 2019 most have come to agree w him including many of the other candidates in the Dem stage, so IMHO, he needs to extend or to build upon this so it doesn’t become shelf worn, especially in foreign policy, the current focus, where he appears to be still lacking, especially if he wants to stay relevant and to maintain continued support.

He also needs to evolve from his support and endorsement of the Clinton machine and Russiagate, if he intends to get some of his former supporters votes, including mine back.

Shakir joins the Sanders operation from the American Civil Liberties Union where he served as national political director since early 2017. Before joining the ACLU, he was a senior adviser to then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and before that he worked with House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). He first made a name for himself as an editor at the website ThinkProgress, the news arm associated with, though editorially independent of, the powerhouse Democratic think-tank Center for American Progress.

Nothing says "dirty Clinton machine" like TCAP. Feel the Bern.

And another thing! He has some nerve spamming my inbox with unsolicited bulk email, begging more money for his specious FEC reports. I read the FEC reports posted online, whatever an "Unlimited Transfer" transaction is I suggest he does more of that, and stop harassing the poor people he will never ever help. STFU

I word-searched the debate transcripts and not one D out of 20 mentioned homelessness, except a vague reference to "services" because of course. Nobody cares, nobody thinks it's a problem worth addressing, like it's gonna work itself out somehow. $15 minimum is not even close to a living wage, and voting for healthcare before housing is just stupid, unless you are already in the middle-class just trying to survive extreme insurance industry greed. good luck

@eyo Maybe 10 emails describing how critical it was for me to contribute $500.
One email said his first campaign contribution averaged at $27, but now, only $16! So that is why he wanted $500.

@on the cusp Disgusting surveillance economy knows everything about everybody, so yeah. It is the same database that Clinton used in 2016 and all the other sellouts before Her, churning out class-based pap for the masses. $2.70 is what they wanted from me, I am not kidding. Seems almost like a NGP Public/Private team up with Equifax, but we're not China right? Or Denmark.

@on the cusp that disclosure helps put that above request in a more understandable light. Because it appeared from your initial post that the Bernie camp was trying to get a whopping $500 from their usual $27 donors. $2700 is a hundred times above the typical donor amount.

So, the individual limit these days is, what, $3200?

@wokkamile The last contribution I sent to a fucking politician in my lifetime was $2,700 to Bernie Sanders. I am done.
My money I do not desperately need for myself goes to family (my only living family member), charity(near-extinct wildlife, children, women in Africa), and friends, in that order.
I think it is better spent on those people and causes than a fucking politician.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981

@eyo My experience parallels your own, eyo. I was an enthusiastically joyous 100% all-in Bernie supporter last time around. I gave his campaign more money than I could afford and did so gladly, honestly believing it was my gift to a better future for this country and therefore for humanity itself. For a long time Bernie never let me down, and all of his communications, including his emails, were uplifting and welcome. He was pure, good, and, in a thousand ways, laudable. Then ... things fell apart. The AP crowned Hillary the presumed nominee weeks before the convention, Bernie caved, lost his center, stumbled from "vote for Hillary" to "Trump is a fascist," to Russiagate. Poor Bernie; it's like the DNC took possession of his soul. But when someone decided to put Podesta's boy, Faiz Shakir, in charge of Bernie's 2020 campaign, it was blatantly, openly a fox guarding the hen house move. And I'm not sure Bernie understood what was being done to him.

A couple of months ago it occurred to me that Bernie's 2020 emails seemed designed to turn me off. They tried to flatter me as "one of Bernie's top 2016 donors" instead of talking about Bernie's goals and values, they repeatedly demanded $500 donations, they even frickin' told me over and over how poorly Bernie is doing! There were times it felt like some evil genius was designing all communications for the purpose of turning us off Bernie. And it was working; it entirely de-motivated me from sending him money (I sent a small amount just before a deadline.)

The DNC fears Bernie just like it fears Tulsi -- and they are putting a lot of energy, a lot of brain power, into destroying their candidacies without getting caught. They have been actively undermining Bernie's campaign and demoralizing his supporters. At first I was impressed but now I sense it was no accident that virtually every Dem candidate opened with statements subtly but effectively claiming ownership of Bernie's pet policies. Some genius figured that one out -- sounds like something Frank Luntz would do (and wasn't Luntz on good terms with Markos back in the day?)

Bernie should fire Faiz Shakir and get a clever, savvy, bare-knuckle progressive to take over before it's too late.

clowns. They are all (except Gabbard) human rubber bands. As soon as they get what they want (in this case, the DNC crown) they will snap right back to their basic neoliberal stances and they will be backed up by not only the party but the corporate puppets that run the show in this country. It will be the last hurrah for Bernie and his CONSISTENT message, which is also our only way out.

it will be the last hurrah for Bernie and his CONSISTENT message, which is also our only way out.

Bernie is presenting the reealities that allow all Americans the opportunity to survive under predatory capitalism — and thrive if that's their desire.

Bernie's message is consistently and factually true, tested, and immutable.

The truth, apparently, only lasts for one news-cycle in the US — then it becomes "boring and repetitive." Little wonder Americans have so few human rights compared to citizens of the other advanced nations. They get bored.

(Signs of social collapse.)
