Please Join the Water Protectors on November 15 DAPL Day
This is just a quickie to pass along information. For those who may be interested, there is a national day of protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline on Tuesday, November 15. Please check out this link to see if there is an event in your area and to consider hosting one if there is not:

The primary targets are Army Corps of Engineers offices around the country. For my fellow Kentuckians, that includes the Louisville office. Secondarily, we will march downtown and demonstrate in solidarity even where there are no offices.
You can find offices and events at the above link. Please participate if you can. Massive movements are probably the only way we'll get anything done now. It's never too soon to start. DAPL needs to be shut down before the OranguTrump and his storm troopers take office.
Thank you!

The bravery of the people who are continuing to stand up to these fascist goons is amazing.
And Obama has asked the pipeline people to pretty please stop construction.
And of course they are ignoring him and they have started drilling under the river today.
Obama, are you aware that you are the most powerful person in the world and you don't ask companies to voluntarily stop drilling, you tell them to stop.
You have been the weakest president I can remember.
You let the republicans walk over you for 8 years, let Bp poison the gulf, kill thousands of marine mammals and do you even know that people in the gulf are either suffering horribly from the corexit or died from it after you asked BP not to spray corexit all over the land and ocean?
I'm counting the days until you are gone.
You could have made such a difference in people's lives. I guess you did but it wasn't for the better..
Anyone remember the people at Grant park 8 years smiling and crying because he won and we thought that the nightmare was over?
There were problems with running a campaign of Joy while committing a genocide? Who could have guessed?
Harris is unburdened of speaking going forward.
I remember, all too well.
I will never forgive him for the enormity of his betrayals. Jackie Robinson, my ass. Shoeless Joe Jackson is more like it (except Shoeless Joe was all white).
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
Thanks, Snoops! They're drilling under the river?
I thought they had to wait for Army Corps permission first. Did the Army Corps cave already? They were just saying the other day they would wait at least 30 days for the Sioux to go to court first.
Indeed, when it comes to standing up for people versus corporations, Obama has been weak. On purpose, I think - i.e., he'll be working for them when he leaves office. I think this is part of the reason Hillary lost - what part of his legacy, exactly, does he want her to continue? Americans know corporate rump kissing when they see it and have had enough.
I think Trump will be worse. But at least next time, the Dems will give a little thought to at least not quite so obviously brownnosing to their corporate overlords. Let's hope we can be activist enough to keep the nation and the world surviving until we can vote in some true progressives.

Of course it was on purpose. We've all seen that when he
really wants something, he'll work his ass off for it. He's auditioning for his next job and part of that audition is showing what a good little corporate-loving stooge he can be.

If only all these
anti-Trump protestors were motivated enough to join the Indians at Standing Rock, they might actually accomplish something.

Good point! Maybe they will come out on Tuesday.
Kind of doubt it, everybody seems to be looking out for their own little group. But it would be nice.

Nah, too cold up there
in North Dakota, and no Starbucks.

No Starbucks?
I'm surprised they haven't had massive protests before now.

it's bad now
We don't have to imagine if the situation will be worse when Trump takes office. It's bad now.
Under a Dem administration, peaceful water protectors are being beaten, maced and pepper-sprayed, held in dog kennels with numbers written on their arms, and subjected to sleep deprivation torture techniques with lights shining on them and airplanes circling all through the night.
Under a Dem administration, the National Guard is being used alongside hired mercenaries and out-of-state troops to shoot rubber bullets and teargas at Native youth, their horses, and unarmed journalists.
Under a Dem administration, treaties are once again not being honored. (They've never been honored -- not once -- in the entire history of the U.S.)
Under a Dem administration, the graves of ancestors are being trampled and bulldozed while cops lie and manufacture false charges against people who are trying to stop them.
Our Dem president says he wants to let things "play out" while the Dakota Access company has put out a statement that they will begin drilling under the river within the next two weeks. Without a permit. They don't care about the regulations, and the Dems won't enforce them.
People say "Trump invests in oil and gas companies." Well, oil and gas companies poured millions of dollars into Clinton's campaign.
It's bad now. We need to act now.
