The Pernicious Myth of White Supremacy in America, Past and Present

Like any myth, white supremacy depends on a few basic beliefs, axioms if you will, that are foundational, and create the premises for all that follows. The first, and most fundamental, belief that all white supremacists hold is that race as a matter of science exists. The second, and the more dangerous belief they consider a fundamental truth, is that a pure white race exists, and that this pure white race is under attack by the inferior races, which are actively seeking to eradicate the white race.

According to white supremacists, the purity of the white race is under assault by race-mixing (i.e., miscegenation) which dilutes the blood, but also through attempts to destroy "white culture." Considering how many different ethnic groups and and people descended from ancestors of differing nationalities claim whiteness, it may be difficult to define the customs of this overarching white culture. However, when asked to describe what is white culture, invariably white supremacists define it by what it is not. It's not African American, Asian or Hispanic culture, nor is it Jewish or Muslim (most white supremacists see themselves as Christian).

White supremacists consistently claim that there is an ongoing attack on whites by inferior races. They claim this is caused literally through immigration of non-whites, higher birth rates among the inferior races, and through the propagation of non-white culture in mass media, all of which represent threats to the existence of the white race. The obsession over the danger from the dilution of pure "whiteness" is a constant refrain. Indeed, many white supremacists consider what is happening in America as a genocide perpetrated against whites.

You can find many of these racist tropes in the white supremacist manifesto posted online by Patrick Crusius, the alleged shooter in the mass slaughter of 20 people in El Paso on Saturday. Here's a sample of what he posted:

In general, I support the Christchurch shooter and his manifesto. This attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas. They are the instigators, not me. I am simply defending my country from cultural and ethnic replacement brought on by an invasion.
...

I am against race mixing because it destroys genetic diversity and creates identity problems. Also because it’s completely unnecessary and selfish. 2nd and 3rd generation Hispanics form interracial unions at much higher rates than average. Yet another reason to send them back. Cultural and racial diversity is largely temporary. Cultural diversity diminishes as stronger and/or more appealing cultures overtake weaker and/or undesirable ones. Racial diversity will disappear as either race mixing or genocide will take place. But the idea of deporting or murdering all non-white Americans is horrific. Many have been here at least as long as the whites, and have done as much to build our country. The best solution to this for now would be to divide America into a confederacy of territories with at least 1 territory for each race. This physical separation would nearly eliminate race mixing and improve social unity by granting each race self-determination within their respective territory(s).

In the United States, white supremacy began as a justification for slavery by slave owners, particularly the enslavement of persons of African descent. Many historians have pointed to the use Biblical texts played in finding a justification for slavery, but one can easily show that abolitionists also cited the Bible as the reason to abolish America's original sin. A far more radical and pernicious doctrine was that white supremacy was based on scientific principles, and that science justified various discriminatory laws used to maintain racial purity.

Anti-miscegenation laws date back to colonial times. The first such statute was passed by the Maryland General Assembly in 1691. Other colonies followed suit. These laws were an American invention. There was no ban on interracial marriage in England at the time. By the late 1800s, 38 states had anti-miscegenation statutes. As late as 1924 these laws were on the books in 29 states.

Yes, long before Hitler and the Nazis passed their anti-Jewish laws, America had created the precedent for legal discrimination against "race-mixing" and the refusal to extend rights to non-white groups. The irony of this is rich, considering that after the importation of slaves was prohibited, white slave owners simply created new slaves by impregnating (i.e., raping) their African-American female slaves.

The reality is that race is a political, cultural and sociological construct, at best, as genetic variation across "racial and ethnic groups" is very limited. Indeed, white skin color, or more precisely skin with lower levels of melanin, was a late arrival on the scene. The best example of this truth was the famous case of "Cheddar Man," the 10,000 year old remains of a male found in Britain.

In 1903, the remains of a 10,000-year-old man were discovered in the Cheddar Gorge of Somerset, England. Dubbed the “Cheddar Man,” it remains the oldest almost complete skeleton ever found in Britain. Over the years, research has shown that he stood around five-foot-five, he was well-fed and he likely died in his early 20s. Now, as Paul Rincon of the BBC reports, genome analysis has revealed that Cheddar Man had dark brown skin and blue eyes—a discovery that adds to a growing body of research indicating that the evolution of human skin color was far more complex than previously believed. [...]

... Cheddar Man’s appearance has been the subject of considerable interest because he belonged to the first wave of migrants to establish a continuous human presence in Britain after around 11,700 years ago; before that, humans had temporarily settled in the region and cleared out during various ice ages. Around ten percent of people with white British ancestry are descended from this group of first settlers, and previous reconstructions of Cheddar Man have depicted him with pale skin and light hair.

The results of Cheddar Man’s genome analysis align with recent research that has uncovered the convoluted nature of the evolution of human skin tone. The first humans to leave Africa 40,000 years ago are believed to have had dark skin, which would have been advantageous in sunny climates. But humans did not uniformly develop light skin when they reached the colder regions of Europe. In 2015, for example, a study of ancient DNA found that while individuals in northern Europe had pale skin, hair and eyes around 8,500 years ago, humans in the regions of Spain, Luxembourg and Hungary likely had dark skin. Genes for light skin may have only become widespread in Britain around 6,000 years ago, when farmers from the Middle East migrated to the region and began to reproduce with indigenous populations, according to the BBC’s Rincon.

As you can see, skin color has no genetic basis for establishing the concept of race. In America, it's strictly a cultural and economic creation, intended to preserve and protect the property rights in other human beings by those who literally owned them body and soul.

Proslavery advocates appealed to white non–slaveholders in their ‘ideological proposition that black–skinned Africans and their descendants constituted a distinct ‘race’ that was inherently inferior to the ‘race’ of white–skinned Anglo–Saxons and their descendants’ (Oakes 130). One reason upper class whites appealed to lower class whites on the grounds of race is that ‘the planter wished to develop an attitude of race superiority on the part of the poor white and the Negro groups through a fear that at some future time the poor white might lead the mulatto and the Negro in revolt against the established order’ (Johnston 186). Anthony S. Parent Jr. suggests that the planter class ‘had to drive a wedge between laboring whites and blacks’ by implementing slave codes (107). For this and other reasons, the white planter classes in the mid–eighteenth century began ushering in ‘a common core of belief and mythology concerning the Negro which belonged...to white American culture as a whole’ (Jordan 149–50), and this common core of belief and mythology was predicated on the ‘assertion that inferiority and superiority were grounded in biology rather than culture or class’ (Oakes 130). Science, then, catalyzed white American mythmaking, and white American mythmaking catalyzed laws regulating slavery.

Race and ideologies such as white supremacy are effectively a means by which the upper classes control the lower classes by driving a wedge between various groups, and creating animosities and prejudices that divide people who otherwise share many of the same interests and who all suffer at the hands of the rich and corporate elites. This is mentioned in the El Paso shooter's manifesto, which goes into great detail about the economic suffering and environmental damage he sees in America, which he blames corporations and our political parties for creating. Unfortunately, he entangles his thinking on those lines with the pernicious myth of white supremacy, which has always argued for racial segregation and maintaining the purity of white bloodlines.

These racist tropes and belief systems have existed for hundreds of years, and it is no surprise that they continue to this day, as both major political parties have fostered bigotry and prejudices against the "other" whenever it has suited their interests (usually when it serves the interests of their wealthy corporate donors). The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, signed by President Clinton with bipartisan support is perhaps the best example, but it is but one of many. Indeed, police violence against African American communities in major cities has primarily been overlooked and even sanctioned by the Democratic politicians who control those local governments, despite their claims to be supportive of minorities. For just one example, consider the record of presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, former San Francisco DA and Attorney General of California, a black woman who consistently took actions that damaged black communities in California because of her connections to, and financial support from, corporate interests.

I do not disagree that President Trump promotes racist ideologies and policies, and enables white supremacists with his continual rhetoric attacking minority groups of all kinds, but he is only pursuing the path blazed by other politicians from Ronald Reagan to Bill Clinton. He's simply more obvious and blunt about his racist beliefs and intentions. He no doubt believes that this is an effective strategy to appeal to poor and middle class whites harmed by neoliberal economic policies, and sadly I believe he is correct. Divide and conquer has worked often in the past in American politics, and it will continue to be effective as long as the lower and middle class Americans focus on politics of racism, xenophobia and identity politics over their mutual interests in a fairer economic system, a better environment and an end to a foreign policy dependent on militarism.

Told it was what I believed. Told that my interests were indicative of everything on this list. Who know that goddess statues were a sign that I was secretly a supremacist, and only supremacists and those who know the super secret supremacist code knows it too! Yep, we're really good at hiding, us evil people. We're so good that we even THINK we're not evil!

/snark

I find that more and more things I enjoy keep getting added to that list of "Indicators". Was recently told once again that the worst "Bad Guys" that the police are worried about these days are Veterans. Because Veterans have training. No matter how pacifistic we are, it's clearly just a false front until we snap. Been hearing that shit a lot recently.

I get it. I'm dangerous. I'm dangerous because I hate rap music and think that the corporate media are a bunch of propagandists trying to find another group to vilify, because you always need a designated villain. I'm dangerous because I practice Judo and bang on metal with a hammer. I'm dangerous because I don't go to any church because they have no answers for me. (No thanks, tried em ALL. I know where truth lies and it is not in the words of a non-working caste that debates about who goes to hell and who gets to pay tax to avoid the fate.)

You can always tell when things are bad when they start tossing around texts that most folks have never even heard of as proof that an entire group of people is evil. Hammers man... freaking Hammers are supposedly a white supremacist gang sign if you get one as a tattoo... Which means nearly every blacksmith I know... even the black ones apparently...

Slaves were 3/5 of a person and first nations people were less than people all together.

This is an excellent analysis...

Race and ideologies such as white supremacy are effectively a means by which the upper classes control the lower classes by driving a wedge between various groups, and creating animosities and prejudices that divide people who otherwise share many of the same interests and who all suffer at the hands of the rich and corporate elites.

The environment, especially here in the south, implicitly promotes supremacy. The children still grow up in a culture that condones seeing and demeaning "others". I grew up with Amos and Andy and it took years to realize how shows and the behaviors you see modeled manufacture your consent. It isn't just police behavior, its the way people behave in the grocery and on the street. It is the rare person who questions what they've always seen and experienced. I was lucky to experience a bit of the movement here in Alabama and that grew into an antiwar movement experience. In formative years it was powerful and helped me to find a more rational mindset. However those things you've been around all your life go deep. You can't escape it all. The same rings true with sexism, homophobia, etc. These bias are in our DNA just like our potential to get cancer. The trick in both cases is to create an environment that doesn't promote the growth within ourselves and our community.

Thanks for the thoughtful essay.

I didn't turn on the tv or read any news yesterday, so I did not know there was another effing shooting, but after posting this will follow your links and read about it. However, this quote from your excerpt is eerily reminiscent to some things posted by someone I haven't seen around here lately. In one comment, the person stated she was listening to Christian music and fantasizing about a shootout with her enemies. She was irritated with Hispanic people in Colorado and posted an essay about giving parts of the U.S. back to Mexico. I thought she might be off her meds or maybe in need of some, but now this guy kills a bunch of people in a border city, and says this:

The best solution to this for now would be to divide America into a confederacy of territories with at least 1 territory for each race. This physical separation would nearly eliminate race mixing and improve social unity by granting each race self-determination within their respective territory(s).

4chan is a cesspool, and has some extremely immature people who post on it, saying some pretty vile shit, but I'd never consider it "extremist".

It appears the document, with no mention of the location of the attack, was posted on an extremist website at 10:12 a.m. Saturday, El Paso time, according to law enforcement sources. Police say the first 911 call alerting them to the shooting at the Walmart was made 27 minutes later ― not enough time to act.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/active-shooter-near-el-paso-mall-po...

Either LEOs were monitoring the site, or one of those "extremists" reported the manifesto.

Despite the shooter claiming that he'd likely die yesterday, and knowing his family would hate him after his attack, he's been captured alive.

He also said his beliefs existed before Trump ran for president (he called out both the R and D parties), and knows Trump will be blamed for this attack. O'Rourke and Castro are already on record stating as much regarding 'Trump is to blame'.

@Deja Everyone seems to forget that.

I actually had occasion to talk a little recently with someone who, as a self-admitted "lurker", actually knew what (let's say) he was talking about regarding that site.

I asked him point-blank whether what I'd heard about it being taken over by neo-Nazis was true (I'd only visited once, and that was enough of that). His reply (quoted as near-verbatim as I can):

"No, not at all. There are some real shitheads on there, but it's mostly the same edgy teens (and now, edgy adults as well) it's always been."

@Granma
the entire discussion. we have found nothing in the human genome that supports the concept of "race". we've found plenty that tells us a lot about the genetic origins of specific physiological traits, including skin color, hair color, eye color (much more complicated than the simply "blue recessive, brown dominant" model your high school teacher taught you), curly vs straight hair, etc etc.

what we haven't found is anything to link any large subset of traits together into something that might be considered a "racial marker". moreover, there is more genetic diversity just within the African population than there is in all the rest of humanity.

@Shahryar "Privilege theory" (which is even less worthy of the term "theory" than McDonald's Hamburger University is worthy of the term "University") is pretty much pure Orwell. It's like something Dolores Umbridge would come up with.

It's basically "Oh, so the police have been eating black people up like popcorn in some parts of the country? Rather than confront that problem, let's turn it upside-down (See how clever I must be?) and say that the REAL problem is that there are other people who AREN'T afraid to walk down the street - at least, not for that very narrow reason. There. Isn't that just as good? Oh, yes, EVERYBODY with a color similar to mine is JUST LIKE ME - and guilty until proven innocent! *long, nauseating sigh of self-indulgent satisfaction*"

This is America. We don't talk about "privilege". We talk about RIGHTS. The whole thing is effectively a so-stupid-it's-brilliant scheme to bamboozle people into voluntarily accepting totalitarianism. Black = White, Up = Down, 0 = 1, Butt = Head, it's all just as good, right???

I get the academic terminology, and it's a fine expression - a fine metaphor - but to throw it about as the law in public discourse is a whiff when it comes to fostering solidarity.

White Privilege in modern politics is used to promote the crabs-in-a-bucket political mentality that is necessary for market based freedom to become the law of the land. Democrats, in particular the Democratic Leftist base is the lone hold out to the left of Atilla the Hun when it comes to accepting the crabs-in-a-bucket market based freedom.

It's working, quite well. We've torn asunder any concept of class consciousness to satisfy the "unfortunate realities" of the world we have today. We've accepted the zero sum game and false binary that our Big Corporate & the Oligarchs have served up for us.

Many people at the forefront of racial studies, luminaries on dKos, were nearly giddy about white people experiencing some of the same transgressions against basic human rights and human dignity that minorities experience. Sensible, empathetic people who promote solidarity want to get everyone out of the bucket.

@k9disc For this very thoughtful comment.

I am fed up with this "eye for an eye mentality" that permeates this country and is constantly promoted over at the other place. Is it really the mark of a good human being to delight at the suffering of one group just because another group was originally suffering? Humanistic beings want to eliminate all suffering and repair the suffering that the original group once went through, not promote more suffering to others.

It's sort of true. Worse is that this feeds the white supremacist paranoia. Google it and you come up with articles stating this as fact. Now there is a wholesale policing of cultural appropriation , making a sort of apartheid out of popular culture. I can't see this as anything but TPB making sure we're at each others throats.

You can agree with this statement, while still disagreeing with blaming all white males.

Yes, most of the worst atrocities in the last 500 years were done by white men.
Yet, at the same time, 90% of white men were also being exploited and oppressed. Usually by the very same white men abusing brown-skinned people.

This country has been deliberately divided by the PTB for as long as I can remember. But it really took off during Reagan's tenure when he started belittling people who relied on government programs. The welfare queens, the black buck, etc and then the Clintons added to it with calling blacks predators.. these are just two examples, but after their presidencies the country started being more divided. Libtards have so much of an open mind their brains fell out. The left then called people on the right and in certain states inbreds and other derogatory words. Things got even worse when Obama was elected and Trump started the birtherism BS which went on for years before Obama finally shot it down. But to this day people still think he wasn't born here. This is very simplified, but hopefully you catch my drift.

As lookout mentioned above I grew up with tv shows and movies that denigrated people who were not white. Native Americans were savages and killed our ancestors for no reason except that it was in their blood to do so. Black history of denigration is still happening with murderous cops getting away with killing them with absolutely no consequences and many people saying that they deserved it. Broken windows policies... what happened at the off the book police building in Chicago and the list goes on...

Yesterday someone posted a video tweet of a boy in 11th grade spouting out racist things and calling a box of Jordan shoes a black person. He then shot it with his rifle until he ran out of bullets. Got another gun and said he wasn't dead enough yet and unloaded it. Then got one more gun and unloaded it. First off where did he learn to think that way? His parents or friends? Secondly, why did he think it was a good idea to film it and then send it to his classmates? Last I heard he had been detained by the police and the tweet has been deleted. But enough people saw it before it was.

They do want the world to burn. False flags certainly help. Q isn't the only side of it all to leave crumbs, either. The online plants and msm are all doing their jobs, spreading the narrative in carefully placed talking points, which spread more from there.

Helter Skelter tuned out to be a psy op. We know about many others. This has to be ssdd for our overlords.

What I don't understand is, wtf are they going to do when we're all dead and there's no ecosystem left that can sustain human life? Who will be their toys and how the hell won't they be dead too?

The Colorado movie shooter and Dylan Roof were both arrested without a scratch on them as was this guy who had just killed 20 people, while Eric Garner was killed for selling loose cigarettes. Dylan Roof was taken to get a hamburger after he killed 9 blacks on his way to jail. The cops watch as white supremacist beat up people protesting against them and then arrest the people being harmed and now congress wants to pass legislation against antifa who haven't killed anyone that I'm aware of while the white supremacist have killed many. Nope..no racial bias at all in this country.

I'm struck by how calm the cops seem to be with the guy who just shot 30 plus people. A snapshot in time? Maybe. But the guy on the right sure looks relaxed from his body language to me. Garner is down and yet the killer cop still has his arm around his neck. And Garner is telling them that he can't breathe. IIRC the cops did nothing to help him after he was handcuffed. Look at the two photos again. Good lord.

The suspected shooter at last weekend’s Gilroy Garlic Festival died from suicide, the Santa Clara County coroner’s office disclosed Friday, upending law enforcement accounts that police killed him amid his assault weapon-fueled rampage that left three festival-goers dead and more than a dozen wounded.

Santino Legan, 19, died of a gunshot wound to the head administered through his mouth, the coroner indicated. Both the Gilroy Police Department and the FBI initially had said that Legan was killed by three Gilroy officers just one minute after he opened fire on the crowd

On Friday, Gilroy Police Chief Scot Smithee offered a corrected narrative: Legan switched from firing his AK-47-style rifle at the crowd to shooting at the officers as soon as they arrived on the scene, he said at a news conference. Officers shot Legan multiple times, bringing him to his knees, then down on the ground. At some point during that onslaught Legan shot himself.

Now, after a week of candlelight vigils and national headlines, the community is little closer to understanding why such a horrific act of gun violence had targeted their town.

In a pair of Instagram posts put up just before the shooting, Legan appeared to reference his hometown. In one post, Legan encouraged people to read a racist 19th century manifesto popular among modern white supremacists, and used racial and misogynistic slurs to describe “hordes” of white Silicon Valley workers and people of mixed-race origin “overcrowding” rural towns.

The other specifically mentions the festival he targeted: “Ayyy garlic festival time,” he wrote in a caption, under a photo of the festival crowd. “Come get wasted on overpriced [expletive].”

Q leads his army of patriots posting to qmap.pub with links a lot to fox news and other such truthy sites. Every now and then I look at the 8chan/qresearch board, it cracks me up. And after a while it sickens me, then frightens me then I'm out. garbage in garbage out. I totally regret what the u.s. education system has done to its youth. omg wtf So... my personal opinion is Trump should be removed from office simply for fomenting violence from his position as yapper in chief, forget the pussies. He is killing people with his own great big mouth, stfu

@eyo I distinctly remember him being taken into custody alive and that being a big deal because of somebody mentioning that he would be dead if he was black... and then the suspected second shooter which... apparently no longer exists and we're not talking about any more.

OOOOOH, wait, I'm stuck in a Roshomon style movie, right? I only think I remember that, because the narrative has been properly corrected and fact checked and what people were saying the day of is clearly just mistaken, when now we KNOW it fits in perfectly with the narrative we are pushing against the great evil that is Trump...

The El Paso story had 2, then 1 shooter(s?) too. I heard about another shooter in a Midwest state, or close, today, on the news. Maybe people are getting it confused because they're supposed to, by design, conveniently sowing discord in the wake. Bonus!

This paper offers specific implications for teaching and learning and brings into conversation ideas from ethnomathematics (including Western mathematics), postcolonial theory, aesthetics, biology, and Indigenous knowledge in order to propose a new vision for practicing mathematics, what I call mathematx.

I guess I’m old school, but recasting every field of human endeavor in terms of ethnic identity and thinking this is the way to better results? If you ask me, this way lies madness.

enterprise is as purely intellectual and non-"applied" as can be imagined (analyzing literature or other cultural phenomena from some academically established perspective, e.g. "POCO" -- postcolonialist analysis), make the mistake of thinking they are describing fundamental truths that can be applied, like socket wrenches, in realms whose truths are immutable and not subject to humanist intervention.

"You can't just leave those who created the problem in charge of the solution."---Tyree Scott

I am free-forming here. You are right on the first assertion: ". The first, and most fundamental, belief that all white supremacists hold is that race as a matter of science exists." Well, let me correct that to say "racists hold that race is a matter of science". My question is when did "whiteness" come to define "race" in the ideology of racists.

What prompted me to ask this question is that a Russian commentator claimed that the West was viewing Russians through a racist point of view. Someone answered that is not possible is as Russians are white. Following that premise, one could conclude that the Nazis were not racist toward the Jews as the Jews were white. Nazi racial genocidial theories toward the Jews and Slavs had nothing to do with skin pigmentation.

I remember listening to a discussion of an academic who explored "Americanism" and "race" and ethnic background in terms of early 20th century immigration policy. Definitions of what consitutes an American were very much tied on "race". Italian immigrants were considered as their own separate race in terms of immigration. Skin color was a factor, but not thee only factor which seems to be the definition of racism today--racism is only about skin pigmentation.

During the World Cup games in Russia, UK commentators in particular tried to accuse the Russians of racism as they were an all "white" team. Which to the Russians was bizzare as they answered only three of the members were ethnically Russians. Their diversity was reflected in their ethnic backgrounds and not some constructed skin color background.

Again, I need to research on this subject, but it seems the idea of white supremecy is an notion born in the later part of the 20th century.

But thanks for a thought provoking essay.

@MrWebster @MrWebster
in the 18th and 19th century it was common enough for people to associate "racial" qualities with nationalities. the distinction such thinkers -- and some such people would have been among the deepest and subtlest thinkers of their times -- made between "culture" and "race" is not at all clear. after all, many believed that "nobility" was a heritable trait of some kind.

at the same time, wherever people of significantly different physiological appearance came into contact with one another, physiological "race" was invoked to classify and characterize what were primarily cultural distinctions. white supremacy is not unique -- various asian cultures have viewed white people with contempt more or less equivalent to that with which the europeans have viewed asians.

That was... fast? huh
https://new.blog.cloudflare.com/terminating-service-for-8chan/

The mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio are horrific tragedies. In the case of the El Paso shooting, the suspected terrorist gunman appears to have been inspired by the forum website known as 8chan. Based on evidence we've seen, it appears that he posted a screed to the site immediately before beginning his terrifying attack on the El Paso Walmart killing 20 people.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. Nearly the same thing happened on 8chan before the terror attack in Christchurch, New Zealand. The El Paso shooter specifically referenced the Christchurch incident and appears to have been inspired by the largely unmoderated discussions on 8chan which glorified the previous massacre. In a separate tragedy, the suspected killer in the Poway, California synagogue shooting also posted a hate-filled “open letter” on 8chan. 8chan has repeatedly proven itself to be a cesspool of hate.

8chan is among the more than 19 million Internet properties that use Cloudflare's service. We just sent notice that we are terminating 8chan as a customer effective at midnight tonight Pacific Time. The rationale is simple: they have proven themselves to be lawless and that lawlessness has caused multiple tragic deaths. Even if 8chan may not have violated the letter of the law in refusing to moderate their hate-filled community, they have created an environment that revels in violating its spirit.

well alrighty then

The people who are on it will just move to a new site and it starts all over again. At least the people who keep track of the postings there know about it. But then there are probably lots more websites where even darker stuff is posted. Rats don't like the light.

Let's censor what we are allowed to read and see, and limit what we are allowed to talk about. Let's surrender our rights and personal sovereignty — so that Americans will stop killing each other. But let's not talk about the true origins of the American sickness on display — which boils up out of the hideous past that we can not speak the truth about or attempt to see justice done. Yet we are appalled to discover our culture is unjust throughout — as if we deserve such a thing. Jesus wept. It's impossible to live in America without partitioning your brain and becoming a sociopath.

The Republicans have officially cast the blame on video games for their contributing distraction from the event. They are hoping that no one talks about guns.

The Mexican Government is suing the US for not protecting Mexican shoppers and vilifying them so that Americans can feel comfortable murdering them. Because US propaganda makes Americans believe that their nation is really under attack by dangerous foreign enemies. They must kill because it is the right thing to do in the land of brainwashing.

The blame will eventually lie with a foreign enemy dujour, who we are told influenced us through social media. Let's shut down social media. Then it will stop.

doesn't matter if 8chan goes dark. The wanking pigboys will just find another hall for their castrato choir. They always do.

As Prince observed when pulling the Cloudflare plug:

We have seen this situation before and so we have a good sense of what will play out. Almost exactly two years ago we made the determination to kick another disgusting site off Cloudflare's network: the Daily Stormer. That caused a brief interruption in the site's operations but they quickly came back online using a Cloudflare competitor. That competitor at the time promoted as a feature the fact that they didn't respond to legal process. Today, the Daily Stormer is still available and still disgusting. They have bragged that they have more readers than ever. They are no longer Cloudflare's problem, but they remain the Internet's problem.

after the Event. But some congress critters are talking about passing legislation that will take more of them away. Malcolm Nance says that congress has to pass legislation so that people like the shooters can be prosecuted correctly even though there are laws in place already to do just that. McVeigh blew up the Oklahoma federal building and the laws were able to prosecute him for it.

The Republicans have officially cast the blame on video games for their contributing distraction from the event. They are hoping that no one talks about guns.

Yeah it's just violent video games that causes people to shoot each other not our brutal foreign policies and that we send people to kill others that have not harmed them. Why isn't the media spending days talking about the number of people who are being killed in Yemen? Iran from our sanctions..Venezuela for the same or the people in countries where our military is? Yeah it's the video games. It could be because people are stressed to the max. Or any of the other issues that causes people to do that.

I'm reading people say that the shooters were mentally ill. Okay. Let's pass health care plans that allows people to get treatment for it. "Oh no. We can't do that because we can't afford to." But we can spend over half of our budget on killing people. Sure that makes sense.

We are a sick country being run by even sicker people after we created the country on genocide and slavery. Let's start there and go from there. Remember that Dylan Roof went to Burger King after he killed 9 people. Let's talk about that.

Just heard on the news, Trump say DoJ, state and local law enforcement, along with social media will work together to sniff out these shooters to prevent mass shootings.

Along with what you linked to, add a side of MKULTRA and well laid out manifestos (El Paso dude named a video game & left it on a site whose users just so happen to also dig up shit on world leaders, along with much stupid stuff). After the programmed ones are deployed, we usually get copycats who further prove how we can't be trusted and need more surveillance and censorship to "protect" us from ourselves. 8chan's web host has already cancelled their service because the El Paso shooter posted there.
