Out, Damned Bern-bot!

A "senior political reporter" at CNN tells us how the Democratic Party bigwigs are busy developing a strategy for pushing Bernie Sanders to the sidelines and uniting the party behind the Anointed One, Her Highness Hillary Robem Clinton. (Okay, so I might have got the middle name slightly wrong.)

According to the article, once those pesky primaries are out of the way on June 7 (and a big FU to all those Washington DC'ers - what else is new?), Bernie should be encouraged to "get with the program", recognize the futility of his candidacy, and start encouraging his supporters to unite behind the Inevitable One. From the article:

The widespread view, according to interviews with senators, House members and senior party officials, is that Sanders needs to see the writing on the wall himself: That he has no mathematical possibility to win the race and would be better-served to see his agenda enacted if he urged his backers to support Clinton.

Love that line about being "better-served to see his agenda enacted" by supporting Clinton. Because after all, there is so much more that unites them than divides them! For instance:

SandersVsClinton.jpg

Okay, clearly these two agree on just about everything. What could be simpler than transferring the loyalty of those supporting an FDR-style progressive social democrat to a corrupt, right-wing neoliberal war pig like Hillary Clinton?

More from the article:

If he doesn't drop out, the options on how to persuade him to quit boil down to this: Propose potential process reforms, including gutting the role of superdelegates in choosing the next nominee, give him a prime speaking slot at the Democratic Convention and even dump the head of the Democratic National Committee, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a controversial figure among Sanders' supporters.

Yeah, that should work. Is it any wonder that things are seriously wonderful for just about everybody in this country, when you realize what prodigious and formidable intellects we have guiding us?

Anyway, I realize there's still a few meaningless primaries yet to go, but it's not too soon to start feeling the love...

It's sure interesting that the "senior political reporter" at CNN did not see fit to mention that there will probably be an indictment soon just putting together the facts that are public knowledge, the IG report in mishandling email with a private server combined with the fact that there was classified information on said server. That's a pretty good reason for Bernie to stay in the race until they hand her the nomination, if she makes it that far.

in the entire article.

But it does end with this:

"Our campaign has been dismissed and written off more times than I can count," Sanders said Wednesday in Palo Alto, California. "We're going to leave California with enormous momentum going into the convention. And I believe we've got a real shot to come out of that convention with the Democratic nomination for president of the United States."

Nice try Hill, but Bernie's in it to win it.

The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?

she's NOT a Medusa, you know? Cut off her head(figuratively) and two grow back?
Fuck THAT shit!
As for the idea that even Bernie could unite progressives for Clinton, I want some of what they're smokin'. 'Cause they MUST be high to think this could happen in this election season.
My take is Clinton gets referred to a a grand jury for subpoena to be interviewed by the FBI, and the Orange one gets hammered over his university fraud and BOTH parties continue to fuck over the electorate.
Depressing.

You've got your Greek mythological figures mixed up. It was the Hydra that regenerated its cut-off heads.

Medusa, on the other hand, only had one head, and when Perseus cut it off, it stayed cut off. The useful thing about the head was that anyone who looked at it was immediately turned to stone. (Perseus used a polished shield to see her reflection, so he could kill her without having to gaze at her directly).

Now if only Hillary could be converted into Medusa at the exact moment that she was delivering a talk at one of her $100,000 a plate fund raisers. Or better yet, the actual Medusa put in a cameo so that HRC could become a statue along with all the others. Then it could be truly said of Hillary: She never took her leadership responsibilities for granite.

Quite an elaborate setup for this punchline:

The Medusa kills by turning her gaze on those who look upon her which turns them to stone. Hence, you can only look at her in a mirror which protects you from her direct gaze. Appropriate, no?

She has dead eyes even when she smiles or laughs. Empty.

From the Antisocial Personality Disorder Forum:

The so-called "psychopathic glare." Based on various accounts and my own experience:
(1) angry stares (projecting chronic anger)
(2) intense, penetrating stares (trying to penetrate your mental interior, to assess/mirror your weaknesses, strengths, desires, etc).
(3) predatory stares (they see something they want; you, or something you have)
(4) empty, dead stare (indicates low activity nervous system/depression/exhaustion)

One indicator, but not necessarily confined to AsPD's (=psychopaths/sociopaths). I've also seen (1) in prob Borderline PD, (2) in people who appeared to be developmentally disabled or psychotic and in Disingenuous (antisocial) Histrionic PD, (3) in Disingenuous HPD, and (4) in soldiers, cops, or other people burned out from overwork.

Unless Bernie wins, the differences are irreconcilable. The Democratic Party is dead to Bernie supporters. They are nuts.

and that is for Bernie and his supporters to admit he lost and that everyone should vote for Hillary now.

Personally I find that a bit of a weak strategy but I'm not a highly-paid grifter.

For one thing, Bernie might release his delegates but he isn't going to tell them who to vote for. And he certainly isn't going to tell his followers who to vote for.

Also, even if Bernie DID tell us to vote for Hillary, we wouldn't do it.

I sure hope you are correct. I'm among the consensus here, but will those outside the loop stand firm with their conscience, or fall to fear and vote the Lessor of Two Evils?.... ( and BTW; Hillary may be Medusa, but Trump is the Hydra... the GOP has has its head cut off 18 times during the primary, and look what has reared its ugly head, over, and over??? the Orangutang!!
