The McResistance gets even more phony

To steal someone else's line, "What Democrats are to the actual left is the same as what Nickelback is to Rock n’ Roll, nothing but a bland facsimile of something genuine with the primary purpose of selling something."
I've gone to great lengths to explain how the McResistance is in reality an astroturf'd movement.
I've also listed the various ways that most Democratic leadership has bent over backwards to work with Republicans and against the Actual Left.

Whether it was giving the Pentagon more money than it asked for, helping Trump with spying on the American public, or deregulating Wall Street, and giveaways to predatory payday lenders.

This week the McResistance collapsed over the government shutdown. While the news was all about DACA, perhaps the most important part of the collapse involved the MIC.

The top Democrats in Congress have transformed DACA, the effort to protect 800,000 childhood immigrants from deportation, into a gargantuan funding measure for the Pentagon. This past weekend, Senate Democratic leader Charles Schumer offered to fully fund Donald Trump’s border wall and boost defense spending “far above” what the White House requested, in a deal to end the government shutdown. The military budget signed into law in December was already $30 billion higher than the White House asked for, and $80 billion bigger than the previous year’s war spending—an increase as large as Russia’s entire defense budget.

I should point out that this recent massive increase in the military budget is separate from last summer's giveaway.

It is Democratic congressional leadership—not Donald Trump and his mad generals—that has been the driving force in this year’s military spending insanity. Back in July, House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi pressured her party to back a defense authorization $57.4 billion bigger than the Pentagon requested. Only a minority of Democratic House members supported the measure, but a majority of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) followed Pelosi’s lead—including all five of the newest members of the Black Caucus, elected in 2016. By inflating the war budget even beyond the Pentagon’s demands, these Pelosi-Schumer-CBC Democrats ensured that what remains of the social safety net will be slashed into oblivion by bipartisan forces of austerity in future Congresses.

The majority of the Black Caucus voting for this just goes to show the lie behind the worship of ethnic and gender diversity, while ignoring the much more important diversity of ideas.

Democrats apply identity politics as a distraction, in lieu of systematic solutions to class-based discrimination. Democrats demand more women directors in Hollywood, more African-Americans admitted to Ivy League schools, transgendered soldiers in the military so they can join the slaughter of brown people in other countries.

An article up on the youngster, Joe Kennedy III

The Center for Responsive Politics estimated in 2013 that Kennedy’s net worth is between $15.6 million and $55.7 million. That’s thanks to being a member of the Kennedy family, since he has spent much of his life after college in public service.

He attended Stanford University with a major in management science and then attended Harvard Law School, where he graduated in 2009. His first job after law school was district attorney for the Cape and Islands Office. In 2012, he was hired by the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office, where he worked until he decided to jump into politics.

Joe Kennedy III: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

I am not sure of this web site. But in the article there is a link to someone I considered sorta of a hero, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He has been very active in environmental issues. But, maybe the folks with money are different than you and me.

well, this is on Robert Jr

Actress Cheryl Hines is Kennedy’s third wife. Their engagement was announced in April 2014, and married just four months later. Before Hines, Kennedy was married to Emily Black from 1982-1994, and Mary Richardson from 1994-2010. Richardson committed suicide by hanging herself in May 2012.

Not all of Hines’ friends were supportive of their marriage, though. Two months before they were married, reports claimed that he was having an affair with Chelsea Chapman Kirwan.

In 2014, The New York Post also released an article where they wrote that he kept a list of dozens of his mistresses under the letter ‘G’ on his cellphone. (His late wife, Richardson, said that he chose ‘G’ because of the word “Goomah”, which means mistress in Italian slang.) The Post writes, “While Kennedy didn’t have a gal in every port, he did seem to have friends in many places. At least five women were from Toronto; one was in Paris; others were in Palm Beach, Fla., Alaska, Aspen, Colo., Miami, Montreal, Cleveland and Pensacola, Fla. One woman had the notation “airplane” after her name, another “farm,” and another “teacher.” One was cryptically known as ‘Z.'”

in this age of addressing sexual violence maybe these guys are at risk

and that goes for Joe III mentioned at the start of this comment. In the Bill Clinton case, the republicans argued that his affairs were a threat to national security because he could be blackmailed.

The first part of the article on Robert Jr recounts the murder case of his cousin and his efforts in that case.

Here is article on Robert Jr which is from the same publication

Strange things in the article like his arrest for Heroin possession in South Dakota.

@DonMidwest

Will I live long enough to see a Clinton and a Kennedy fighting over a nomination for a democratic presidency?

If that ever happens, we ought to insist that they settle it the Burr-Hamilton way.

A duel.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

@Ellen North

Clinton would outsource her half of the duel to the nearest US-funded terrorist group...

.... at which point Kennedy would follow his family's tradition, and outsource his half to the Mob.

Kennedy wins! Smile

Is Clinton’s Message To “Activist Bit**es” Part Of A Trend Among Politicians On The Use Of Crude Language?

This article is from Jonathan Turley, the moderately conservative law prof who has the most followed law blog on the web.

There are some stats from a retweet in his article. Looked up the guy and he among other things writes Clinton puff pieces but I didn't see the stats of 32 million stats and the other stats.

@DonMidwest I did a search and here are the top articles

My excuse for doing this is to save you the time of looking into it.

Why Hillary Clinton said 'activist bitches supporting bitches'

Clinton thanks ‘activist bitches’ in bizarre video

Hillary Clinton Praises “Activist Bitches Supporting Bitches” in Video

Why would I do this? To demonstrate not only how screwed up our politics are, but to show the echo chamber is screwed up.

And you already knew that ...

And I am being bad, so why not continue. I went over to TOP/DK/Orange piece of S...

and the lead piece on the main page was, no I am not shitting you, it probably won't be up for long

@DonMidwest

The echo chamber went wild when she said that. Another one is on how the democrats should resist the SOTU address. How can they not know the things that they have done the mentioned here?
Or that Pelosi already has said that now isn't the time for impeachment or that there was a vote for it, but the democrats voted against it?

Gee, maybe if they hadn't spent a year on what Trump said or did they would know these things? And they would know all of the legislation that the republicans have rolled back. How about what Pruitt is doing to the EPA or about.....? Nope. The Blue Wave that is coming is going to fix all of our problems, don'tcha know? Tax cuts will be rescind, Obamacare will be fully funded, ect. But the war machine will roll on and on.

Thanks to everyone here who keeps this site informed.

a SOTU speech, or many speeches for that matter. What possibly could be learned from a SOTU speech? Exactly. When a prez giving a SOTU speech says, "the state of the union is totally fucked," then I might start tuning in. 'til then... nope.

No matter what, despite evidence to the contrary.

The circus that is the SOTU makes QEII, making a speech from the throne in Parliament, seem like a forum for policy making. Which is bizarre.

So you're not missing much from not watching all the shite symbolism and virtue signalling.

A truth of the nuclear age/climate change: we can no longer have endless war and survive on this planet. Oh sh*t.

By a woman activist who was in the middle of the campaign.

Some things I didn't know, like Bernie had to sign a statement that he would support the candidate if he wanted to run as a democrat. That was early on.

When he ran before, he has almost no coverage in the media. You probably heard that CNN spent more camera time on empty podiums before Trump spoke than they did on the entire coverage of Bernie.

The author mentions that starting a third party is a lot of leg work and resources and Bernie might not want to do that.

On election integrity - the local people here in Central Ohio who have been deeply involved in this issue know Bernie from the 80's when democratic socialists were very small. Keith Ellison was convinced to go into politics through his involvement with democratic socialists. They spoke with Bernie and he knows the issues. It looks like the democrats have finally, almost, figured out that unless they take a stand and change voting they will continue to loose. So maybe they will do something.

Lots of good stuff to chew over in this article.

No, Bernie 2020 Will Not Be The Same As 2016

I did a video the morning after the Democratic Primary had concluded stating that Bernie Sanders was going to run in 2020. I did a youtube video several months later explaining that he was going to run and that many of his rhetorical concessions were a result of this possibility.

...No third party has addressed any of the infrastructural issues that have long prevented all third parties from being considered viable in the general elections. Third parties have to spend much of their time getting on ballots. That consumes money and resources that many independent politicians don’t have to spare. Then, when you finally do get on the ballot, you have to somehow convince pollsters, who choose their own random and purposely unfavorable samples, that you are polling at a minimum of 10% before you can hope to be seen on the debate stage beside the other general election...

As far as the Democrats attempting to cheat Bernie Sanders, I am absolutely certain that many will try. But let’s look at what had to take place for them to be successful in cheating Sanders in the last primary election. Bernie was unknown by 95% of the country before he ran for president. So the media blackout was extremely effective.....The Democratic Party members were also much more willing to play ball with the Hillary Campaign because they needed the funding, and they didn’t really have another option (so they thought) at the time who could win office while simultaneously galvanizing the big donors. That pretty much covers 2016. Now, what is different about 2020? The Democrats appear to be trying to saturate the race with establishment cronies such as Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden, and some other lesser known names. If they do this, they increase the odds of a Bernie Sanders victory. If you include this many people and limit debates, Bernie Sanders is already the most popular candidate in the country — therefore they will need the exposure on the debate stage, not Sanders. If they expand the number of debates, it has already been well documented that once an undecided voter is exposed to Sanders for the first time, the chances are that he will win them over. Not to mention, he will be given more opportunities to prove how he is a stark contrast from his establishment Democrat competitors...

Note -- most the .... in the above quotation were about Hillary

...There is a difference between picking the lesser of two evils and picking someone with flaws, understanding that they can (and likely will) put experienced progressives at the helm to cover down for his shortcomings or lack of experience in particular fields of politics. To surmise, it’s time for people to decide if we are going to continue attacking our allies for making one or two decisions we disagree with, or finally start removing our enemies on both sides of the political aisle who present a clear and present danger to the entire world. Hindsight is 2020.
