(The latest excuse): Russia memo was ‘secretly altered’, top Democrat says

Russia memo was 'secretly altered,' top Democrat says

As expressed during our initial review, we have grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo's accuracy," the FBI statement reads.

Further complicating the memo's release, the senior Democrat on the House intelligence committee said late Wednesday that his committee's vote to release the memo was now invalid because it was "secretly altered" by Republicans who wrote it. California Rep. Adam Schiff said in a letter to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes that committee Democrats had discovered changes that were made after the panel voted Monday to send it to Trump for review.

"The White House has therefore been reviewing a document since Monday night that the committee never approved for public release," Schiff said in the letter.

A spokesman for Nunes said the changes were "minor edits to the memo, including grammatical fixes and two edits requested by the FBI and by the minority themselves."

*

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer on Wednesday night placed the blame on House Speaker Paul Ryan, saying that if Ryan "cares about the integrity of the House or the rule of law, he will put an end to this charade once and for all."

*

After those complaints, Wray reviewed the memo over the weekend. Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., who was with him when he reviewed the memo, said the FBI director did not raise any national security concerns. Gowdy said the memo doesn't reveal any intelligence methods but does reveal "one source.”

Trump just needs to get it over with and release the damn thing.

The idea that the Clinton Creature’s lackeys are telling us that what went on behind the scenes when She and The Empty Suit were rigging the election is arrogant, ignorant, and absolutely unacceptable.

EDIT: tepaired link. It apparently changed.

...I highly recommend Crosstalk, where an entire show was devoted to dissecting it.

The media have done a lot of heavy lifting during the past week to keep news of the four-page "memo" off the air and hide the issue from the American people. Although the memo contains no classified information, its existence threatens the Deep State Neocons, so it may hit the deep freeze where all their crimes and misdemeanors against the will of the People are stored — classified and out of reach. What was threatening was the way the information was juxtaposed. Heh. A brand new kind of censorship has emerged. Malicious juxtaposition.

In the course of the Crosstalk show, you'll also get insight on what the world knows and thinks about RussiaGate, so far:

The ‘release the memo’ moment is upon us. Republicans are billing it as some kind of silver bullet revealing political corruption at the highest levels of the Department of Justice and FBI. Democrats and their supporters in the liberal media call it a distraction. Finally the public will decide.

Crosstalk host, Peter Lavelle, was interviewed by Jimmy Dore last week. H. A. Goodman appears on the panel.

That's funny stuff about the policing of the grammar police, Amanda. Who could of foreseen....?

(Disclosure: I really get a kick out of this news show, which is aired on RT. It's free-range geopolitics with a changing panel of eccentrics, who against all possible odds, often make a lot of sense.)

Thanks, an interesting discussion but the consensus seems to be that

even if it's publicly known that there's been a conspiracy by corrupt government on both sides, merely using Trump and a large stable-sized 'stone boat' of lies to make Russia look evil and worthy of nuking by psychopathic warmongers lying and cheating to do it

because The Right People were going to make money (and give kick-backs to their enablers, doubtless also profiting from their own war profiteering and related other insider investments) from initiating WW3 based on BS, even if at the cost of destroying life (along with their Preciousssss money and the very concept of money) on the planet

and bleeding US public funding for the fleeced trillions spent in illegally invading other people's countries to steal their stuff to further enrich billionaires and giant corporations,

going after American's pensions and old-age health-care which they'd paid into all of their lives so that they'd starve in 'retirement' once too old to work at a non-survival-level wage reduced by attrition over decades in order to further enrich billionaires and giant corporations while destroying the real economy due to starvation of that,

Russia is still going to be THE SCARY EBIL!!! to the American public which the panelists agree can't be changed to the truth in the minds of the public, as the blatant lies to 'justify' attacking Russia are now a 'done deal', just like the results of US electoral cheating always are?

I think that's the scariest part... and I hope like hell they're wrong about that.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

Americans are like those monkeys raised in isolation. More than anything, they want to love and be loved. If they can just figure out how to break down the walls that have them trapped inside the dis-information zone.... There's a lot of pent-up desire for change and reconciliation.

Luckily, you're usually right. Too bad we can't inoculate against propaganda, though...

the memo at this point, the leading edge of the discussion was speculative, I think, but I enjoyed hearing what each of the panelists said, especially Lee Stranahan, self-identifying as being on the right and having written for Breitbart, nodding in agreement with the respectful praise given to Robert Parry. That moment encapsulated my hope, that the left and the right can come together on the common sense of ridding our country of a serial-killer government.

P.S. I meant this comment to be in response to Pluto's Republic and the Crosstalk video. Misplaced.

I never thought I would feel his passing so sharply. The lines between ideologies have been blurred by honesty and truth. The fact of that has made so many things possible, going forward.

It's "their" not "there"

Cry me a river for the dems.

Are the dems too stupid to release the original, pre-alteration (if any)?

Their desperation and hysteria, along with the fbiciadoj desperation, demonstrates the potential damage to the dem party and the fbiciadoj.
