Jill Stein didn't get invited to the first presidential debate, but the Green Party candidate is still hoping to cause a stir.
In the hours before Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton take the stage, Stein and her supporters plan to hold a "Let Jill Debate" protest and subsequent "People's Debate."

Anyone on the ballot
should be included in the debates. This is what I would call informational gerrymandering. Insidious and reeks of duopoly fear; all with a presidential stamp of approval applied. Foul!

Personally, I wouldn't consider protesting private-party or corporate control of democratic elections to be 'a stunt', exactly. And Jill's skilled and can do both at once, with the two-party trade-off corporate candidates carrying out some scripted farce inside. That's a two-fer (unlike Bill and Hill the criminals) actually worth voting for.

I do not trust Facebook and
I do not trust Facebook and Twitter owners. Any 'technical issue' or other problem will cause great (and justified, by past actions of owners behaving like slimeballs) suspicion and quite possibly riots... but I do wish Jill - and the rest of us - the best. I.e., if there's no Bernie miracle, that she'll win.

I agree with those that have said that anyone running for
president should be allowed in the debates. They were when the League of Women Voters were in charge of the debates.
The DNC and RNC changed the rules for them and the LOWV didn't agree with them.
Now candidates only have 60 seconds to answer questions and 30 seconds for the other person to rebut them.
That's a silly way to get to know what they stand for.
Plus the questions to be asked are not to be about anything serious.

The League of Women's Voters refused to continue to host the debates under the new DNC/RNC rules because they were intended to defraud the public.

But that's OK in what they've told you is 'the world's greatest democracy', by virtue of an insanely large and tax-payer draining military entitled to 'spread democracy around the world' by bombing/droning other people in their own countries to steal their oil and stuff and take over their governments with corporate-puppet tyrants, right?
And you're going to vote for their corporate candidate and your own corporate serfdom for the maximized profits of their paymasters, right? Because if you don't, we're going to call you wildly inappropriate names!

The 60s through the eyes of a child:
It was a little scary. They killed our President in 63. I was born in 1960 and I still remember that! There was a loss of innocence among the adults, there had been a feeling that things like that didn't happen here anymore (last previous President assassinated had been McKinley in 1901). Then rioting in the cities. I lived in upstate New York at the time. For a while there were no trips to the city for us. We were appalled at the films of peaceful black marchers in the South being beaten and set upon by dogs. More assassinations in 68. We watched the news at school on TV in the classroom when I was 8. It seems weird now that no one thought anything of children watching people be murdered. It's news, it's educational! Society was spinning and we weren't sure what was going to happen. Duck and cover drills at school in case the USSR sent nukes. We were happy to see civil rights acts pass and minorities make gains, and of course the space program was awesome. But then unrest on college campuses, mostly against Vietnam. I was a teenager by the 70s, my sibs and I thinking about college. My parents weren't sure they were going to let us go, after the Texas Tower shootings in 66 and Kent State in 70. They wanted to keep us safe. They finally relented, but my older sibs went to smaller, nearby schools; my parents went with them to college interviews and insisted upon some reassurances regarding campus safety, along with pledges from Admins never to call in the National Guard to handle student protests. Of course we were all admonished to stay away from protests just in case! By the time I went, though, things were calmer. The boys had to register for the draft, but no one was being called.
I kind of wish I'd been about 10 years older. A little too young for sex, drugs, and rock n roll!

I was a child of the 60s. It was amazingly, wonderfully,
fantastically GREAT and it was horrible, horrifying, and eye-opening at the same time. All illusions faded away and what was left was the truth about our government, our leaders, and our fellow man/woman. It, they, and us can be some real shits.
We also had the literature, the MUSIC, and an openness we never had before about our resentment at being lied to and manipulated by the people we elect and pay to go to Washington to represent us. That is all they are there to do, represent our best interests, not enforce their own opinions and/or self-interests. We knew we had rights as citizens (each and every one of us) and they were not to be broached. We did fight back and we ran one crooked president out of Washington, only to watch a continual trail of others, just as bad if not worse, follow right behind. Those were some serious times, we worried about the government, worried about the war, scared to death about the draft that was instituted 12/1/69. Following that the riots and chaos. We are pretty much just sitting quiet (ME TOO) and taking whatever they throw at us now. They don't even try very hard to hide their corruption anymore. And we...

PTSD
It's my belief that the American people, in general, and the Silents and Boomers, in particular, are suffering from PTSD. I say this from my experience as a "child of the '60s myself, as well as someone who's had PTSD from a natural disaster.
It would explain a lot, such as our sitting on our behinds for the past 40 years, as if in a stupor, while terrible things were being perpetrated. The middle class was destroyed, our civil liberties have been eroded, and we now live in an environment with the constant invasion of our privacy. We have no sense of stability anymore. The stress and the psychological pressure on everyday people is mind-boggling. And the majority of the American populace has done virtually nothing except yawn, reach for the TV remote, and go shopping. Those who attempt to break free and point out that the emperor has no clothes have been marginalized and subject to crazy-making. I have to think there is some "Stockholm syndrome" (trauma bonding) going on.

Hosted by John Stossel. He admitted his bias toward Gary Johnson but did a decent job of questioning Jill and accepting questions from audience, FB, and Twitter. He did not try talking over her. Jill made a wonderful presentation, appearing likable as well as knowledgeable. Unlike Medusa, Jill came across as a human being with logic and compassion (unlike the shape-shifting Lizard running for the Democraps.)
