Important Announcement - Embedded Videos Part II
Let's try this again.
The c99 text editor is the box where you write your comments and essays. The row of icons above it make it easier to format HTML. The icon that some here used to embed videos has been disabled because it was causing a bug in the c99 software.
The video icon worked by going to a youtube video and copy the URL and then pasting it into the now disabled video icon box. The URL of a web page is the web page's address shown in the address bar at the top of web browsers. The video icon no longer works but there is an easy solution.
Below the c99 text editor is a long box titled "Video URL". That "Video URL" box works exactly the same as the icon did. Simply paste the video URL into the box and it will display just like the icon did. It's actually even easier to use than the icon was.
Warning: Slightly technical explanation ahead:
A text editor is a computer program where you type in text, in the simplest terms I can muster.
The other text editor that I mentioned is a separate external software that is used independently from the c99 text editor. Most if not all operating systems have their own text editor built into them. Without getting even more confusing than my first explanation was, I mentioned the Windows built in text editor called "Notepad" because Windows is the most prevalent operating system in use. There are built in text editors in most if not all operating systems, linux, mac, etc.
I recommended using Notepad ++ because it doesn't mess with the formatting of the text you write into it. The built in Windows text editor, Notepad, changes the format of the text when you transfer it the c99 text editor, there'll be funny breaks in the sentences which makes it harder to read. Notepad ++ doesn't do that, what you type into it will stay the same as it is when you transfer it to the c99 editor. There are independent external text editors for all operating systems and most are free to download and use.
My initial post about this was much too technical, sorry 'bout that. I broke the golden rule about being too technical to an audience where some may be tech challenged. I was in a hurry because I had to bug out on the road for a couple of days so I rushed the explanation. My bad.
Anyway, I hope this helps and if there are any questions please ask away.

Good morning Free Rangers...
sorry I didn't answer any comments in my previous meta essay, as I said I had to bug out. But I'm here today if you have any questions.
"Tech challenged"
Raises my hand and admits that fits me to a T. Thanks for explaining this. It’s clear as day now.
Putin isn’t going to make you homeless or kill you or deny you health care.

Well...
that's a tough question but I would venture to say that some folks would rather live in Northern Italy rather than Northern Cameroon.
Hope that helps.
Oh yeah, puts it in a whole new perspective ;-) n/t

Isn't it obvious?
In the Land of the Blind, the One-Eyed Man is declared mentally ill for describing colors.
Yes Virginia, there is a Global Banking Conspiracy!
Is there a way to embed videos where you want
them to be and not at the end of the comment? The one I embedded tonight should have gone in the blockquote not at the bottom.
