Hurray! Democrats are going to stand for something!

Good news! The wise and learned Democratic establishment leadership has decided to share with us what principles the party will stand for.
Aren't you excited!?!

On Monday, I am told, congressional Democrats — in the Senate and the House together — will roll out a legislative policy agenda, their de facto 2018 campaign platform. The details, after months of haggling and cat-herding, could yet disappoint, but the broad outlines as described to me are exactly what the doctor ordered.

I'm all tingly in anticipation.

As important as what’s in it is what’s not. Democrats jettisoned social and foreign policy issues for this exercise, eschewing the identity politics and box-checking that has plagued Democratic campaigns in the past, most recently Hillary Clinton’s. This will be purely an economic message.
They also resisted invitations to steer the party toward the center (as pollster Mark Penn advised) or in a more progressive agenda. This is meant to be a populist manifesto that doesn’t conform to the left/right debate but instead aims to align Democrats with ordinary, middle-class Americans fighting powerful special interests.

Uh, yeah. I can see where this one is going already.

Titled “A Better Deal: Better Skills, Better Jobs, Better Wages,” it is expected to have many Democratic staples — tax increases on the rich, affordable college, infrastructure spending, higher wages, job training, paid family leave and the like — and a few new ones.

Wasn't there supposed to be something new?
You know what's missing from this list? Only the most important issue on everyone's mind.
Medicare For All.

Eight months. Eight months and this is all you morons can come up with?

Hashed out over several months by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) and Sen. Chris Van Hollen (Md.), with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.), DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján (N.M.), and Reps. Hakeem Jeffries (N.Y.), Cheri Bustos (Ill.) and David Cicilline (R.I.)...

Well, that certainly explains why there is nothing bold or exciting here.
62 percent of public believes it is "the federal government's responsibility to make sure that all Americans have health care coverage", including 80 percent of Democrats, and you corrupt bastards couldn't get on board with this.
Useless.

more training for all those wonderful jobs out there!

You can never have too much job training.

Any mention of 100,000 more police officers for our streets?

Freedom Rider: Kamala Harris and America’s Oligarchs
Submitted by Margaret Kimberley on Tue, 07/18/2017 - 20:32

"California’s new senator is actively being vetted as the “next Obama, “ or “Obama 2.0” -- a youngish, biracial corporate Democrat and a woman. Democratic honchos are betting that “white people will consider her exotic enough to be acceptable and black voters will rally around her.” The oligarchic George Soros likes Harris, who did him a favor by refusing to indict one of his banks. Most importantly, Harris is all about “form” -- not “reform.”

Now that this comment is buried deep within a thread, I shall reveal the original title: simply substitute the word "humping" for "hoping" and you have it.

we've always had one." Yupper, certainly true and gee, we all know good and well just what that agenda truly is - protect your own ass first and foremost; then your donor's ass although in reality HIS needs are your needs; reject anything that will truly fix any issue as it's far better to be the "good" party "out in the cold" who can only rail against injustices but not fix them; when that starts to be a bit too transparent to the dumbed down voter, go back and start all over again on the latest bumper sticker/meme/poster and come up with something real catchy, short and stupid. Lather, rinse, repeat and under NO circumstances ever admit there's any problem with your new message, stick to the narrative at all costs, but smile while you do that to differentiate yourself from the really mean loonies you blame for it ALL. Keep on doing this and you'll WIN, which is the ONLY thing that matters!

just spin words around to fit their current agenda, which does not include helping Americans, but DOES include pretending like they want to help. They will spin until their words turn to gold, if they can. Trouble is, they're trying to spin gold out of horseshit. Diablo

Fighting for democratic principles,... well, since forever

Rumored DNC motto ripped straight from Papa John's Pizza

It may come as an unpleasant surprise to the party's supporters, then, to learn that the Democrats' rumored message for the 2018 midterms is the following: "A Better Deal: Better Skills, Better Jobs, Better Wages."

Sweet fancy Moses. That's basically the Papa John's Pizza slogan ("Better ingredients. Better pizza. Papa John's"), but in reverse.

Amazingly enough, the Democrats' message is reportedly "the result of months of polling and internal deliberations among the House Democratic caucus," according to vox.com's Jeff Stein.

I tell you what - that just inspired a whole new meme!
