How many Americans will die for Bibi's War?
For weeks Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly hinted that Israel was behind recent deadly airstrikes against bases and munitions depot belonging to Iran-backed militias forces in Iraq.
Yet Washington played dumb. I mean really, really dumb.
The officials posited that rather than Israeli airstrikes, the blasts may have been caused by the “absolutely raging heat in Baghdad over the summer,” when temperatures regularly average around 110º fahrenheit.
Eventually the Pentagon could no longer play dumb, and they fessed up that they knew that Israel was bombing Iraq.
This led to a massive movement of goalposts.
Hoffman clarifies in the statement that the "U.S. forces did not conduct the recent attack on a convoy or any recent attacks that resulted in the explosion of ammunition storage facilities in Iraq," adding that "statements to the contrary are false, misleading, and inflammatory."
The statement goes on to note that "We support Iraqi sovereignty and have repeatedly spoken out against any potential actions by external actors inciting violence in Iraq. The government of Iraq has the right to control their own internal security and protect their democracy. They are conducting an investigation into the recent attacks accordingly."
...
Colin Kahl, national security adviser to former Vice President Joe Biden, said in response to the statement: "The fact that the Pentagon felt that it had to put out a statement like this suggests that they are concerned that alleged Israeli strikes on Iranian-backed militia in Iraq could endanger U.S. forces."
The U.S. even managed to find a reason to praise similar strikes in Syria.
Those Iranian-backed militias are staffed with Iraqi citizens, and have been incorporated into Iraq's defense forces. So you can imagine how Iraq reacted.
The Fatah Coalition said on Monday that it holds the United States fully responsible for the alleged Israeli aggression, "which we consider to be a declaration of war on Iraq and its people".
These strikes put the thousands of U.S. troops in Iraq in danger.
But there is literally nothing that Israel could do, including the intentional bombing of U.S. personnel, that would cause the Trump Administration to denounce Israel.
Which caused Patrick Buchanan to make a keen observation.
As for America, have we ceded to Netanyahu something no nation should ever cede to another, even an ally: the right to take our country into a war of their choosing but not of ours?

Better question
Why should any American die for Bibi's wars? Haven't enough Americans died for Israel while its troops stay nice and safe inside their country? The brave Israeli troops love to kill unarmed civilians in Gaza or drop bombs on them from the safety of their planes. So if Israel decides to start something then they can finish it on their own. Wishful thinking I know, but still!

All one can do is teach one’s kids and grandkids about Israel
in face-to-face conversation.
When it comes to that subject, American politics, institutions, and media are all captured, won’t listen, and will punish anyone who tries to tell the truth.
