Yeah sure, power and control but to what end? If the CIA
is behind another coup, then it makes sense that nobody
knows the good guys in this fight. Deposed leaders, military
take-over, unrest in the streets. Another disguise for democracy
and freedom, no doubt. Leave them alone.
I generally eschew sources related to the war gaming community. The war graphics commentary sets off a number of my bs detectors but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

...about Syria went on about Assad's "sarin attacks on his own people;" "killing civilians;" terrorizing people, etc. They need to change their script. Oh, yes, can't promote war without the necessary accusations "killing and maiming children;" and charges of "genocide."
The US never did anything like this in Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, and Iraq? The old equity principle is that of "unclean hands." The Machiavellian foreign policy hands who will stop at nothing never heard of it.
What's going on in Myanmar is the old imperial Anglo divide and conquer routine. The strategic significance of the geography to China is obvious. Have to cut the Chinese off from the ocean access any way they can. The US and UK could care less about who gets killed in a civil war. They're virtually orgasmic over it in that Asia Times article. The US policy is essentially to alienate every country on China's periphery.
