Happy Friday everyone. As always, post any photos you like.

I haven't done any bug photography in a while, so Tuesday I put the macro lens on the camera and spent some time wandering around the Balboa park rose garden.

@QMS ages ago. Yep, white suit, balloon headwraps, the fake arrow thru his head, etc. He had just hit nationwide thanks to SNL, and an LP as I recall. He was hysterical!! It was a totally different era back in the late 1970s--positive, and the Raygun curse hadn't been voted in---yet!

There are blips, but generally Monarch numbers are down our way. A decade ago, you might be dive-bombed by several whilst out and about in the garden. Rarely these days. Not a good sign.

His Fredship is asking for some pumpkin.

Your macro visions are amazing, and the first and last photo are pure joy.

It’s the first time I've imagined having a bed of rose petals, even if only once ; )

Beautiful shots. Love the wispy white seeds. I wish we had a waterfall around here to photograph.
I thought about "It's a small world" but that's a song I would only inflict upon the governor of Florida.

into different political entities, like north and south, east and west, or some combination of? Maybe the country should be divided further, with Florida all on its own ; ).

Those are Swan Plant seeds, the future sustenance of Monarch caterpillars.

Outstanding 'bug' shots SP! Great Monarch shot BR. Wonderful greens Janis, I figured that was a milkweed (Monarch larval foodplant) of some sort by those seeds. Neat pics!
