Every year now for awhile a number of radio stations go 24/7 with Christmas songs. One starts the day after Thanksgiving. The songs are a list of songs that Burl Ives probably put together for his grandchildren. After a while if an alien came down they would think that the god of humans was a fat man using magically flying deer. And his partner was a snowman. And extremely rare any song considered religious. I should write these stations and give a link to this posting.

Also had to mention. One of thee best Christmas TV shows (really of any kind) was written by Rod Sterling called "Night of the Meek". Cannot find a free version of the segment.

@MrWebster

yeah, it's kind of funny that with the thousands of christmas songs (and versions thereof) that have been recorded, radio stations seem to pick about a dozen to play over and over.

go figure!

have a great evening!

"President Biden has built the most significant legislative record of any president since Lyndon B. Johnson."

how did this not get flagged for misinformation? even nixon had more significant legislative achievements than biden.

maybe that kitten has a little tiger in it. Smile

disinformation? I asked Sam why the kitty could swim and she can’t. She said the kitty is dumb and that’s why she is a dawg. At least that’s what I think she said. Lol…the dawg on top eyes was the best part…"whoa Larry look what you have done!"

Hope you are feeling better? We can send a man to the moon, but can’t cure the common cold?

Putin is still open to talks, after offering for eleven months.
The news media has been given their marching orders to start suggesting an exit is imminent. How far is the Kiev US embassy roof to the Polish border?

Medvedev and Lavrov are saying that they will no longer negotiate with America because their words mean squat. They are done trying to make peace with us and they can’t believe how we have embraced Nazis and support their ideology. Nazis have been paraded in the halls of congress and they have met with many congress members.

https://thesakeris.global/2022/12/26/medvedev-the-results-of-2022-change...

The saddest result of not even a year, but decades that have passed since the collapse of the Soviet Union, is that the lessons of World War II are completely forgotten by Western states. Neo-Nazism has found support even in countries that have always declared their rejection of Hitler’s ideology, whose historical memory is full of pain, shame and anger. We could not stand to see the odious nationalist regime of the heirs of Konovalets, Bandera and Shukhevych, with the support of its curators, trying to reduce to zero not only Russia, but the entire “Russian World”, to which hundreds of millions of people proudly consider themselves.

It’s long but worth a read. Karloff has posted Lavrov on MoA too that’s also worth reading.

Yep he’s pissed at the way Russia has been treated.

Suicide or reprisal did not take place either in the last century or in the last. Not after the First and Second World Wars or the collapse of the Soviet Union. Today, Western countries are once again calling for our country to be multiplied by zero. Well, let the strained screamers get hoarse before they shit their pants.

I posted an excellent essay in my essay about how Israel has welcomed Nazis in their country and how the ADL Is whitewashing the holocaust in favor of the Nazis. The only reasons why Israel isn’t sending its iron dome to Ukraine is because they don’t want to piss off Russia and show the world how Russia’s missiles would be able to defeat it. Our Patriot missiles don’t have a chance either.

And this is beyond sickening! It’s about how Nazis and Ukraine lobbyists got a front row seat to see Zelensky yap his mouth.

Germany will punish anyone who has Nazis stuff, but it has no problems with arming the Nazis in Ukraine to kill Russians and their own citizens!

Bandara was so cruel and evil that even the Nazis locked him away.

putin has indeed been willing to negotiate for peace for ages. they even negotiated such a peace and then the u.s.-designated uk poodle scurried off to kiev to put the kibosh on it.

i'll have some stories in tomorrows eb, including one about ukraine now saying that they would like to have peace talks with russia at the un, but of course, russia will first have to submit to a war crimes tribunal. as an aside, it's interesting that these western stories never suggest that ukraine of its coup sponsors should submit to a war crimes tribunal.

anyway, in commentary about elensky's recent promotional tour/airing of demands, russia's zakharova stated that it was evident that neither the u.s. nor ukraine had any real interests in peace talks, rather they are only interested in extending the conflict.

oh, well. have a great evening!

@joe shikspack After the discovery of what happened at Bucha, any sort of negotiation acceptable to the Ukrainians became much different. Russia has committed war crimes on a massive scale and continue to do so to this day. Also Russia continues to be on the losing side of this conflict, daily. Russia will leave Ukraine, currently all they have to negotiate with is how many war criminals they will give up and what sort of reparations. Daily oligarchs are dying of defenestration, this week in Turkey and India both. There might well come a time in the not too distant future where giving up war criminals and some reparations will seem like a much better path to have taken.

you say "what happened at bucha" like there has been some sort of conclusive evidence presented in a credible investigation.

let's just say the ukrainian claims are not in and of themselves proof of anything. the ukrainians have been caught lying about a wide variety of things of this sort.

SEOUL/HOENGSEONG, Dec. 26 (Yonhap) -- Five North Korean drones intruded across the inter-Korean border with one of them having flown over northern Seoul on Monday, officials here said, prompting South Korea to send its own unmanned vehicles into the North in a "corresponding" step.

The South's military detected the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in border areas of Gyeonggi Province from 10:25 a.m., according to the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS). The UAVs were 2 meters wide or smaller.

The vehicles flew across the Military Demarcation Line separating the two Koreas, and were spotted flying in those areas in Gimpo, Ganghwa Island and Paju, leading to temporary suspensions of civilian flights. It marks the first such intrusion in five years.

One of them flew all the way to the northern part of Seoul, while the others hovered largely in and around Ganghwa Island, west of the capital, in what officials here view as a move to cause "disruption" to the South.

The South issued warning messages, fired warning shots, and scrambled fighters, attack helicopters and other warplanes to remove them, while it remained unconfirmed whether the vehicles carried any weapons, the JCS said.

The North Korean drone incursion into South Korean airspace apparently went on for hours. According to a South Korean independent journalist's commentary (언론 알아야 바꾼다 youtube), President Yoon apparently didn't even convene a security council meeting but had time for a publicity shot after he came to the office with a dog. (One wonders whether this is another effort at poorly conceived Sa gwa (apology) politics as previous unpopular acts by the president were parodied by private pictures from Yoon's home on social media by Yoon's wife, sending the message "even my dog likes apples." Sa gwa is also a homonym for apple. The Yoon administration is currently under fire for austerity moves, including proposals to reduce government agencies personnel levels while at the same time reducing corporate taxes.

Apparently, the military response of the South was directed by an assistant National Security Adviser. One of the prop driven fighter aircraft launched to respond (an hour after detection) crashed with both aircrew surviving. As the article notes the episode was a violation of the bilateral Military Agreement between the North and South signed during the Moon administration. There had been no such drone incidents since 2107.

@soryang

i saw the same story from a different news outlet earlier tonight. they said the crew of the south korean plane managed to eject before the crash.

i wonder if the drone event was north korea paying back for the assorted military exercises that the south and the u.s. have run in the near past, playing a game of nerves, or if it's a matter of probing the south's defenses. maybe both?

whatever it is, it looks like kim is determined not to fade from memory.

thanks for the news, have a great evening!

"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" around the world.
On river boats in Europe, in hotels in China and Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos.
Add to the mix, last time I traveled overseas, it was Christmas in Morocco.
The song blared in the hotel, in the bar. That is, after the belly dance performance!
Glad you are enjoying your holiday, that your cold is blowing over, and that you are taking a bit of a break from the doom and gloom of the path this world is walking. Hopefully, not running.
Get all well, my friend!
