Does anyone know who Abby Martin Is? Whoever she is, I think I am

in love.

She is BRILLIANT!

This short video is from an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast from over a year ago, I was catching up on some episodes I missed that sounded interesting and she was talking about all shit that is wrong with Clinton way before anyone else in the media was.

I don't know her, I don't know her politics, but I do know she frigging nailed it in this segment.

That's one of the things that Joe Rogan does best, he gets people in these 3 hour long form conversations with no interruptions for commercials (he does them at the start and finish to not mess up the flow.) and gets them to start talking like regular people.

If you haven't checked his podcast out I recommend it, not every episode is gonna be for everyone but there is such a wide variety you are sure to catch one with a guest or subject that interests you.

rhetorical as in, "How the hell do I not know this person?" Biggrin

She really impressed me in that segment but that is the only one I have seen her in as of yet.

Could just be my conformation bias showing, lol!

Nope, I think she's amazing just from that segment, too, and naturally I know that have no confirmation bias because you agree with me. (jk)

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

Also an interesting story from her days at RT (Russia Today)
From wiki RT

On March 4, 2014, Breaking The Set host Abby Martin (whose show is produced by RT America), speaking directly to her viewing audience during the show's closing statement, said that even though she works for RT, she is against Russia's intervention in Ukraine. She said that "what Russia did is wrong", as she is against intervention by any nation into other countries' affairs.[19] Later, Martin asserted that RT still supports her despite her differences of opinion with the Russian government.[20] RTs press office suggested that Martin would be sent to Crimea and responded to accusations of propaganda, stating "the charges of propaganda tend to pop up every time a news outlet, particularly RT, dares to show the side of events that does not fit the mainstream narrative, regardless of the realities on the ground. This happened in Georgia, this is happening in Ukraine".[21][note 1]
Glenn Greenwald claimed that American media elites love to mock Russian media, especially RT, as being a source of shameless pro-Putin propaganda, where free expression is strictly barred. Agreeing the "network has a strong pro-Russian bias", he suggested that Martin's action "remarkably demonstrated what 'journalistic independence' means".[22]

and covered Occupy favorably and really well. Was she actually part of the protests? That would make three Occupiers with shows on RT (now that Chris Hedges is doing one).

First time I ever met Lee Camp was during Occupy. We were both at the unofficial latrine for Revolutionaries at a fast food franchise (which doesn't need mentioning but did let us use their facilities, for a while, which for me is the only purpose I ever enter fast food places anymore) a block from Zuccotti Pk. I almost hugged him, because I had known him mostly from this video:

Here's a funny story and just one of surely thousands of incredible moments of serendipity that happened at Occupy Wall St:

Around the same time I encountered Lee at Occupy, I had become good friends with another comedian who was a fixture there. On my first day there as I'm walking through the park not 20 minutes into it, someone calls out to me. He asked if I lived on the same street he did. I said yeah....thinking, wow! Not even down here for a few moments and there's some kind of weird surveillance or something going on, wtf? Turns out he was my neighbor. Long story short we had never met on our quiet Queens street though we had both lived there for a few years. We rapidly became good friends, our relationship deepening with every visit spent together and then at home, and ultimately including our families and a wider range of local activists. We're very close friends now, and during that time of course I've met Lee on numerous occasions being they're both in the same field. I'm always wondering if Lee remembers my overly effusive thanks to him during that first encounter at Occupy.
That's my vignette for the day.

So many incredible stories/moments there. Running into Naomi Klein, Chris Hedges, Sam Seder, Jesse Jackson, the Egyptian woman who recorded the YouTube video challenging folks to join her in Tahrir Sq to stand up against police injustice and corruption credited as starting the uprising there, Michael Moore, etc, and the legions of beautifully bright and committed souls who were drawn to stand, march, sit and sleep in solidarity at the social experiment of Dreaming In Public of a better world possible for the 99%.

We need that spirit to congeal in another way, now that Bernie sparked up that conversation again.

Back to your point Alphalop, she is wonderful and we need more fearless journalistic voices calling truth to power.

This performance is similarly worthy of seeing, particularly as another example of someone unafraid to challenge the mainstream status quo huggers, not buying the faux feminism of a Hillary presidency - and so apropos right now again, on the cups of the DNC. Get a feeling you'll feel the same about her too: ("Is Hillary Clinton our Mitt Romney? Smart? Sure. Competent? Absolutely. Incredible resume? Without a doubt. But also kind of tone-deaf and unrelateable." Just one of many in a complete tour de force dressing down of the fraud of Hillary)

and I agree that she is well worth watching--brave and fiercely independent. I did not know what had happened to her since she left RT. Thanks for the update. I will check out the Empire Files. We live in an interesting time in that the corporate media are an ossified parody of themselves whereas there are lots of good news sources and talented newspeople in the non-corporate or barely corporate media. Lee Camp has been doing some of the best election fraud reporting in his comedy show Redacted Tonight on RT.
