Discussing gender with kids

SheKnows Media and a 32-year-old transman named Hennessey have joined forces to create a new video to educate people about us.
Hennessey is an actor and co-host of the podcast Kill Me Now with Judy Gold.
When someone is coming to you with something that is different from your experience, just give them a chance to tell their side and believe them and don't try to change them, because by trying to change them, you're telling them that their existence isn't good enough.

Did you know...
There's a trans fairy tale? I think it's Romanian, and it's quite old. I saw it in one of Lang's books. It's called "the Girl Who Pretended to be a Boy" or some such. In the end, the bad guy in the story changes her into an actual boy, thinking that would be a severe punishment. Key quote:
So, she became he and was quite happy about it, and married the beautiful princess and they lived happily ever after.
It seems like that story would be a good opening for a conversation.
