The Cost of a Debate

https://www.live5news.com/2020/02/06/charleston-voters-express-confusion...

Voters Emily Kiley and Peter Davis have been volunteering and supporting Bernie Sanders's campaign for months.

"We watch every debate that goes on so now that one’s coming to Charleston that’s insanely exciting," Kiley said. "Of course the first thing we do is look for tickets."

The couple has signed up to be a part of more than 800 volunteers to help set up or work the debate.

“But there’s no access to tickets on any Democratic site that we could see,” Kiley said.

That's because tickets aren't readily available. The Charleston County Democratic Party website says "The only guaranteed way to get a ticket is to become a sponsor of the debate."

Sponsorship ranges from $1,750 to $3,200 each for attendance to multiple “First in the South” events.

Just in case anyone was wondering why Mayor Pete, Joe Biden, and Liz Klobuchar supporters were making more noise than the Bernie folks, it's because Bernie's supporters couldn't afford to be at the event.

          if anyone here is at all surprised by this revelation.

          I decided to poke about the "Democratic" website and of course didn't find any reference to this type of information. Again, I am not really surprised.

@PriceRip They issued an "update" just last night where they allowed local Dem Party spokespersons to deny everything they said earlier about the pricing and availabilty of the tickets. Of course, the Dem website there also deleted the link to the ticket purchase form. How stupid do they think people are? How stupid and/or complicitly evil are they?

@Wally
how to use the internet for mass communication and edit/delete communications that they don't want anyone to see. Worked before savvy public users recognized the need to grab and preserve those oops. Same with recorded public appearances. Did Bloomberg factor into his calculations how much more those recordings in his own voice would increase the cost of him making it through the primary and general election? Doubt it.

@Marie

Why do so many politicians campaign like the internet was never invented?

@PriceRip Mine was this one. It's got all that irrational exuberance and contempt for us lower classes you'd expect from Jeff Bezos on acid. And you can dance to it! Either this or anything by Chumba Wamba.

asking what I would choose, 100,000 dollars now or 1 million dollars in ten years.

I thought this question sucks as much as the ticket prices for the debate events.

Horrible situation. Whatever you try to do, it all sucks. Confusion, on purpose created in the population, is the tool to destroy anybody who tries to keep a clear mind and sanity.

You can tell reddit I want double the money Bloomberg has and then buy him out and send him to the farthest away star to starve him out of oxygen.

I have so many curse words you could shake a stick at.

@mimi Send Bloomie under house arrest to live in one of NYC's rat-infested slums, with no heat, no running water and non-functioning toilets. Oh wait, he might not need toilets because he is full of shit.
