Climate Change Hits Home

Last week, the Union of Concerned Scientists came out with a report about how climate change would affect the residential housing market in the United States. The report focuses solely on sea-level rise and flooding along US coastal states.

The results are probably what you might expect, but I particularly appreciate this kind of analysis because it ties the science to real-world results. Thus, people can start to digest it and process things in a much more real and personal way.

For example, if I told you in the year 2030--a mere 14 years from now--San Rafael, CA would lose 1,814 homes; or Miami Beach, FL would lose 2,616 homes; or Ocean City, NJ would lose 3,235 homes; or Galveston, TX would lose 1,418 homes due to chronic or permanent flooding--you hopefully might start to pay attention if you lived in one of those locations.

The bottom line of the study shows that, assuming a high level of sea rise of 6.5 feet by the year 2100, $1 trillion in residential and commercial real estate will be destroyed, and 4.7 million Americans will be displaced from those properties. One million homes in Florida will be underwater (more than 10% of the state’s residential properties) as the hardest-hit state. This does not include infrastructure such as roads, bridges, power lines, etc., many of which will also be affected.

@UntimelyRippd I guess they figure they will just move inland to the new coast and rebuild. If they have to take it from people that are already there no biggy.

Yeah, some light bombing to clear the undeserving away for a new gated settlement beyond the new water level makes for bigger basements. There should be enough cops with Israeli training to help Those Who Matter handle that aspect.

climate change hit home years ago.
The one thing you can count on from those who study it, underestimation is blatantly true.
I'm not cautious anymore. Humans should watch mad max movies to understand what the future will look like on a good day. For a while. Then we all contribute our carbon back.

Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.

@Pricknick mentioned this; global cooling. Complete agreement with you, btw, point of no return Has passed. All we're waiting on is for the system to catch up with what's already been done to it. With the carbon Already in the atmosphere, if we were to Stop all fossil fuel burning Today, in 72 HOURS we would be on a rocket ride to 6* F hike in temps Within 3-6 Weeks. Yes, that's WEEKS. How much food could be harvested and stored in that time?
Every living plant(that we could eat) Will die in that sort of heat.
And we won't be long behind.

Have a GREAT 4th of July Folks!

@UntimelyRippd the particulate matter that goes up Everyday with the burning of oil and its related products actually Screens the intensity of the sunlight hitting us, creating a Dimming effect.
Stop putting it up there, and when what's there now falls out(approximately 72hrs), we'll get the Suns Full Blast with no window tint in the way.

4-6 Weeks, roughly a degree/week. I could be off a degree, or a week or two; does it make much difference?
I heard a re-broadcast of a climate scientist discussing this on my community radio a few months back, he said we've been cooked since '07, the rest is window dressing.

@UntimelyRippd
There is no controversy that there is an umbrella effect, but disagreement about how large it is.
Normal actions of industrial civilization put large particles into the air that reflect sunlight into space, making the Earth cooler than it would otherwise be. We also observe this from big volcanic eruptions. This in fact is one of the proposals for planetary engineering.
The main effect is from sulfates that result from burning high sulfur coal and oil. There was a dip in global average temperature after WW2 that is thought to reflect re-industrialization prior to the phasing out of the dirtiest fuels when the first world started worrying about acid rain. Other contributors include dust from tractors plowing fields, cars moving along roads (particularly dirt roads), construction dust, dust from logging and mining, ice particles injected into the upper atmosphere by jets, etc. Normal stuff that is part of normal life.
There have been three papers that I'm aware of that place the magnitude of the effect at around 1-1.5 degrees C. Apparently there are some other papers out there with even larger estimates.
Based on observations around 9/11 when air traffic was halted, they conclude that the time it takes for these particles to fall back to earth is a few weeks. They are continually renewed by normal activity.
If that normal activity were to be interrupted, for example by a big economic crash, we would see an immediate rise in temperature. Altogether it would be double what we've seen already since the 1890s baseline.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

but it also sounds like an PTB argument for profitable all-out industrial pollution and the continued lucrative spraying of even more toxic, ozone-destructive pollutants into the stratosphere to continuously shower down onto the already-poisoned-for-profiteers Earth. Which ensures that planetary life is doomed either way.

The first sane thing to do thing would be to lynch charge and isolate all responsible parties, especially including those with any interest in creating disinformation, to take them out of the equation and sort out what's really going on and how to salvage whatever may still be possible to salvage. Fast.

Under conditions where any/all of the myriad 'wars'/military muggings against other people's countries are altered to actual war declarations, the jack-boot's likely to come down hard, under this excuse.

There's been a build-up of 'terrorist incidents' going on in countries that Britain/US PTB would like to bring together in military attacks and need to manufacture public consent for.

After several such incidents which I'd happened to see (with no way of knowing what I'd missed, of course,) presented with careful denials of terrorism being denied by police in such a manner as to imply that this was a cover-up (and smelling of psy-ops), I saw a comment sarcastically saying that the commenter (evidently of the same mind as myself and others) was surprised that it hadn't been claimed that the person had been yelling ‘Allahu Akbar’ during the attack - and the next example I saw not only incorporated that and traditional female dress/veil but -shades of 9/11 - a box-cutter, evidently a favoured (if very short) weapon of terrorists, lol. And she was said to have demanded death, so clearly also intended to raise fears of those now-stereotypical suicide terrorist types.

Why would 'terrorists' set on mass murder of innocents use something that would have to hit a major artery to kill quickly, and that they would have to enter close range to use? Of course, the 9/11 box-cutters were said to have been plastic, so as not to show on metal scans, but somehow a sharpened piece of plastic fails to carry the same psychological terrorizing cache as would even a Boy Scout knife. But here, a box-cutter relates to the 9/11 official story and is, I believe, meant to trigger the same inculcated fears.

The world won't believe any more official story-lines after too many disproven claims repeated endlessly without a grain of evidence so - in my admittedly cynical view - tactics have changed to (very obviously) making it appear that officials in warmongering countries are 'concealing evidence' (as with Reality Winner, used to 'substantiate' a faked story with 'leaked' 'evidence', for which she's then pilloried as an example to scare off other whistleblowers) of what they'd actually like the public to believe - likely that more 'war' and/or an absolute crackdown on the public's civil liberties is required to keep terrorism in check, thereby making criticism of governments or voiced concerns about anything 'sensitive' - including climate change or anything else they'd rather not be mentioned - a traitorous act.

(US RT seems to have been undergoing the same type of infiltration as the Intercept has been so obviously suffering although some interesting articles still appear amongst the outright never-before-seen clickbait and other crap increasingly appearing there instead of news of late. Potentially could be added by bots apparently now let loose to alter material on the net in real-time, and may or may not appear only in certain countries; no idea, just know I've been seeing it. Gotta discredit all independent news sources, ya know. Once nothing we believe is real, their job will be done.)

2 injured as woman with box cutter attacks people in French store, reportedly shouts ‘Allahu Akbar’
Published time: 17 Jun, 2018 12:00
Edited time: 18 Jun, 2018 13:26

A woman shouting “Allahu Akbar” has attacked and injured two people at a supermarket in La Seyne-sur-Mer, southeastern France. She has been taken into custody and is being assessed for terrorist links.

A 60-year-old customer was stabbed in the chest with a box cutter knife, while a female employee, working at a checkout counter, was wounded in the eye on Sunday morning. The victims were taken to hospital, with their injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The attacker, who was dressed in black and wore a veil, was subdued by the supermarket staff and later handed over to the police.

“It appears to be an isolated case by a person with known psychological problems – though that doesn’t exclude the possibility that she may have been radicalized,” Toulon prosecutor, Bernard Marchal, said.

Marchal confirmed media reports that the woman shouted “Allahu Akbar” as she wielded the knife. The perpetrator may also be suicidal as she asked the police to kill her during the arrest, saying that she had nothing to lose, the prosecutor added.

The 24-year-old perpetrator, who was born in France, hadn’t been previously known to the intelligence services. The law enforcers have been searching her home, checking whether she had links to Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) or other radical groups.

“We don’t yet know if this is a terrorist act, but in any case it was terrifying,” Marchal said, as cited by AFP.

Another incident in which an attacker reportedly shouted “Allahu akbar” left one person dead and several others injured in Paris in May. The assailant, a 21-year old French national of Chechen origin, was previously known to security services and was listed on the national security threat list, known as Fiche S.

France has been plagued by a series of terrorist attacks and has remained on high alert since 2015. In 2017, the country faced several terrorism-linked incidents, including shootings and car ramming. The attack in La Seyne-sur-Mer has not been linked to terrorism so far and is currently being investigated.

You see, (while we dunno whether these actually happened or were initiated by spooks manipulating people who are a bit simple/mentally disturbed) they're being very cautious not to leap to conclusions while making certain that the general public will, to be again manipulated into austerity-for-war-profiteers set on global domination.

The Gladios terrorist groups (initiated in WW2 by US industrialists as their sponsored fascist global takeover was mangled by the since-detested Russia, under the pretext of 'stay-behind' organizations protecting against a Soviet invasion which never came) have always had, as their purpose, the crushing of 'the left' (anyone promoting the public interest) and terrorization of the general populations in NATO countries by attacking the powerless among their various publics, so as to make them more willing to accept suppression in the name of 'safety' that never arrives either.

Several injured after ‘minor explosion’ at London tube station

Edited time: 20 Jun, 2018 12:52

A “minor explosion,” likely caused by a battery short circuit, triggered an evacuation at London’s Southgate tube station on Tuesday evening, police said, adding that a number of people received minor injuries.

Police said a small number of people were treated at the scene. Emergency services arrived at the station just after 7pm following reports of a small explosion. Local reports suggest that one person was taken out of the station on a stretcher. ...

... People in the area were warned to stay indoors and the road outside the station has been cordoned off. Pictures on social media showed police sniffer dogs outside the station. One local told the Evening Standard newspaper that he witnessed “around 50 or 60 police, an ambulance, fire arms and dog units” at the scene. ...

...A Metropolitan Police statement said its officers inspected the scene along with colleagues from the Transport Police and other services. The apparent cause of the explosion was a battery short circuit, it said, adding that the investigation is ongoing. ...

Just a little scare, maybe make the public jumpy - but, whether arranged or not, it adds to an effect

Charing Cross rail terminal in London was evacuated after reports of a man on the tracks who claimed to have an explosive device, the British Transport Police said. The suspect was swiftly detained by officers.

"A man claiming to have a bomb at #CharingCross station has now been arrested," British Transport Police said. "We are now working to reopen the station as soon as possible." ...

...Officers from London's Metropolitan Police confirmed that they were assisting BTP’s work at the station.

Alarmed commuters shared photos on social media, showing police vehicles and a cordoned-off station. “I was evacuated from the tube station and saw a fair few fire and police crew up (sic),” one woman wrote on Twitter.

Just a few examples, but there's a definite build-up of public fears in France and Britain, both recently happily bombing civilian areas in Syria together with the US, to public outrage which perhaps might be quelled by such personal fears - while Trump stirs the pot:

Trump prolongs sanctions against North Korea for another year
Published time: 22 Jun, 2018 15:45
Edited time: 23 Jun, 2018 14:22

Despite a recent thaw in relations with Kim Jong-un, President Donald Trump is renewing US sanctions on North Korea for another year, justified by “an unusual and extraordinary” nuclear weapons threat.

“The actions and policies of the government of North Korea, including its pursuit of nuclear and missile programs; and other provocative, destabilizing, and repressive actions and policies… continue to constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat to the United States,” read a White House statement on Friday. ...

... After meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore earlier this month, Trump had promised to remove the sanctions “when we are sure that the nukes are no longer a factor.” The president added: “I look forward to taking them off.” ...

...On his way home from the Singapore summit, Trump declared that North Korea no longer posed a nuclear threat to the US.

“There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea,” he tweeted. “Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experience. North Korea has great potential for the future!” ...

... Friday’s announcement, however, signals a return to business as usual. By declaring the North Korean threat a ‘national emergency,’ Trump simply re-applies sanctions that have been imposed on Pyongyang every year since 2008.

The US sanctions on North Korea are among the most punitive in the world. Trump did, however, grant Kim some concessions after the June 12 summit, promising to temporarily end bi-annual military exercises with South Korea. Trump told reporters that the ‘war games’ were “very expensive” and “provocative.”

As part of the agreement signed between the two leaders, Kim made a vague commitment to work towards denuclearization, a goal that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he hopes will be achieved within two and a half years.

Then comes Libya-ration...

Aaaaand tactics are changing here as well, the US PTB being less obvious about at least one of their attempted overthrowings of elected governments that do concern themselves with their own public's interests:

Foreign sponsors boost funding of Russia’s opposition, upper house commission claims
Published time: 5 Mar, 2018 12:18
Edited time: 5 Mar, 2018 12:26

Russian senators have registered an increase in foreign funding to various Russian opposition movements and politicians, but added that external sponsors had become more careful in hiding their schemes.

The report from the upper house Commission for Protection of State Sovereignty released on Monday reads that the signals about the increase in foreign donations that various minor and non-registered opposition groups receive from abroad were arriving from all over the Russian Federation – from the westernmost exclave of Kaliningrad to the Russian Far East.

“Western interference programs are being used with much more caution and quite often under disguise so that the recipients of this funding can fail to understand that they are being influenced,” the authors of the research noted.

They also wrote that a typical example of a campaign that is being favored by foreign sponsors is the call for an elections boycott spread by anti-corruption blogger-turned-political activist Alexey Navalny and his allies.

Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told the Monday session of the Commission for Protection of State Sovereignty that most of the attempts to influence Russian internal politics from the outside were made by the US.

“It is important to understand that it is Washington that is making most of the attempts not only to interfere with our internal affairs through various channels, but also is actively trying to accuse us, the Russian side, of some sort of interference, or rather quasi-interference with America’s internal affairs,” the diplomat said.

Ryabkov also stated that US President Donald Trump had failed to keep a campaign promise not to interfere in other nations’ internal affairs. In particular, he pointed at the statement that the US Department of State made after Russian authorities refused to register Navalny as a candidate in the 2018 presidential election (Navalny was barred from polls because he is currently serving a suspended prison sentence for major embezzlement). ...

Yup, US involvement, and the criminal Presidential loser (only here, suffering some consequences and kept out of the race due to having been actually convicted of financial crimes, to the disappointment of the US PTB) is behind a promotion of election boycotts - sounds strangely familiar somehow.

...Over 130 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces during the protests along the border with Gaza. The UN General Assembly condemned Israel’s “excessive use of force” against Palestinian demonstrators, adopting a nonbinding resolution last week. US envoy Nikki Haley wanted the final document to have an amendment condemning Hamas, but the proposal failed to draw enough support.

It seems progressively more likely that too-often Israeli-anti-terrorist-trained and militarized police are intended to function as more official Gladios-style terrorists to crush the left; I've been wondering if these cops were told off to target Sam Ronan as a leftist politician - and whether he'd be alive if the incident hadn't been live-streamed.

This sort of endless activity along with the censorship and private control of the internet make me think not only that a major crackdown and potentially global trouble could be triggered at any moment but that TPTB - believing that they themselves will survive comfortably - would rather randomly trigger global destruction of planetary life than to allow life itself to prosper without directly financially benefiting themselves.

TPTB, within their various associated groups, have long held dreams of owning and micromanaging everything on the planet - and anything that publicly comes out which supports such aims must, I feel, be treated with great suspicion in that all-out effort to ensure their totalitarian global domination.

Since they're evidently determined to kill us all off, one way or another, anyway, it may not make much difference, but personally, I refuse to follow anything which helps TPTB to attain these goals.

Going to repost something excellent previously posted here by I can't remember who, but this is coming out about the basis for all excuses about attacking even entirely unrelated countries and is one among a multitude of crimes TPTB do not want the public able to access or discuss:

The Brussels AE911Truth Press Conference (no Q&A): Gage/Honegger 5-14-18
AE911Truth

Published on 23 May 2018

AE911Truth founder Richard Gage, AIA,, along with LC 911 Inquiry Board member Barbara Honegger gave a press conference in Brussels, Belgium on 5/14/18 as part of the 4-city Europe Tour "9/11 Justice: Every Nation, Every Citizen".

The opening remarks addressed the need for this call from America to Europe for help – why we are here in Brussels at 9/11. 9/11 was the first and only time that Article 5 of the Mutual Defense Treaty, the Authorization of Utilized Military Force (UAM) was invoked, and it was done, as even the steel of the 9/11 and Article 5 Memorial would testify, on provable lies.
Gage provides an overview of the explosive destruction of the 3 WTC skyscrapers on 9/11.

The closing remarks addressed legal options for Americans and Europeans alike which include actions such as the Grand Jury Petition in America noted above.

The above is in process; internationally, the leaders of various countries are realizing that this is not a survivable situation - and if the criminals and propagandists can be eliminated from the equation and actual truths established in all the areas of lies and disinformation, perhaps far more can be achieved and salvaged than we might now dream possible.

CIA: ‘Disinfo Program Is Complete’ – They Actually Said This

January 15, 2015 Sean Adl-Tabatabai

“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.” William Casey, CIA Director 1981-1987 ...

...Former assistant to the chief domestic policy adviser to President Reagan has recently come forward confirming that William Casey did indeed say this.

As Palestinian Uprooted Blog reports:

“I am the source for this quote, which was indeed said by CIA Director William Casey at an early February 1981 meeting of the newly elected President Reagan with his new cabinet secretaries to report to him on what they had learned about their agencies in the first couple of weeks of the administration. The meeting was in the Roosevelt Room in the West Wing of the White House, not far from the Cabinet Room. I was present at the meeting as Assistant to the chief domestic policy adviser to the President. Casey first told Reagan that he had been astonished to discover that over 80 percent of the ‘intelligence’ that the analysis side of the CIA produced was based on open public sources like newspapers and magazines. As he did to all the other secretaries of their departments and agencies, Reagan asked what he saw as his goal as director for the CIA, to which he replied with this quote, which I recorded in my notes of the meeting as he said it. Shortly thereafter I told Senior White House correspondent Sarah McClendon, who was a close friend and colleague, who in turn made it public.”

Barbara Honegger Not only does Honegger claim he said it, but apparently he said it in response to what he saw as his goal as CIA Director! This statement was further backed by an email posted by Quora user Greg Smith from Honegger regarding the quote which is consistent and apparently prompted her to tell the story above: “Seriously — I personally was the Source for that William Casey quote. He said it at an early Feb. 1981 meeting in the Roosevelt Room in the West Wing of the White House which I attended, and I immediately told my close friend and political godmother Senior White House Correspondent Sarah McClendon, who then went public with it without naming the source… “ So there you go. Guess it boils down to he said she said, except when she says it, it’s because she was actually there… The year 1981 was an interesting one for Director Casey.

He just so happened to be under investigation and fighting to keep his new job over various seedy dealings that came to light; among them were claims he approved a plan to overthrow Libya’s Moammar Qaddafi to instill a shadow government. (Oh I know, our government would never do that, would they?) The agency’s plan, according to an article in the July 27, 1981 Gettysburg Times, involved toppling Qaddafi via what else? Disinfo: “Newsweek Magazine reported the covert operation was designed to overthrow Khadafy through a ‘disinformation’ campaign to embarrass him, creation of a counter government to challenge his leadership and a paramilitary campaign.” (Wow. A lot of that sounds eerily familiar… 2011, anyone?) That same year, investigative journalist Jack Anderson published this piece in the September 22, 1981 Santa Cruz Sentinel discussing the troubling CIA disinformation campaign being waged against Americans: Anderson points out the CIA’s “triple assault on the public’s right to know” included 1) trying to shut off channels of information to the electorate, 2) seeking criminal penalties against reporters whose stories might identify CIA operatives, and the third which Anderson called most troubling, 3) spreading “disinformation” to news agencies. And who else does Anderson specifically call out in this disinfo campaign but new CIA Director William Casey: “Now along comes Bill Casey, the dodering CIA director, with the argument that the government has the right to mislead the public by planting phony stories in the press.”

Oh really? So the good director not only talked about his disinformation campaign but actually argued for the government’s right to wage it against the American people? ...

And we need to read, remember and make note of such things, while we still can.

One more thing, if this might still be true:

...over 80 percent of the ‘intelligence’ that the analysis side of the CIA produced was based on open public sources like newspapers and magazines. ...

and the CIA are still recycling their own disinformation as 'intelligence', wouldn't that also help to explain a lot?

As the old saying goes, we need to question authority of all kinds; probably most of them have been subverted, misled or disinformed by now.

Edit to add this, although the pertinent stuff doesn't even start until 6 & 1/2 minutes in.

Briefly mentions Director Mueller here and there, such a fixer... seems they can only catch 'terrorists' who are mentally challenged/unbalanced and who they can con into playing along with 'terrorist' games, with everything needed supplied.

Lol, apparently some of these 9/11 terrorists were living with an FBI source? What a coincidence! (Don't know if any of those were among the ones found to be alive and well elsewhere...)

But the over-reach into everyone's lives is an FBI over-reaction to the refusal to allow investigators to going into the laptop potentially holding available evidence regarding a suspect until that 3rd plane hit the Pentagon...

Apparently 2 months after 9/11, stamped visa's were sent to a major suspect, (but it's different for refugees, of course).

Around 41 minutes in, she discusses Mueller - knowing better - standing by while Cheney lied about a suspect purportedly having met with Iraqi's as claims toward an excuse for attacking them.

She puts on a best face scenario, but some interesting bits affecting now nonetheless. Also shows how far making allowances can stretch among even the basically ethical...

I have come to the opinion that there are not very many actual climate crisis deniers. The actual deniers are folks who are pretty ignorant in general and are followers of certain religious sects. Most of the leaders of those same sects and other end time rapture groups know somewhere inside themselves that it is true, but need to twist it into their money making narratives. They lie to themselves. I am not sure how big this group is in numbers.

Realizing only recently that another group (Trump included) of overt climate deniers, actually are fully aware of the climate crisis but are rich and arrogant enough to believe they can control it. They are rogue independent players who are geoengineering the hell out of us.

Then there are those who are mildly to fully aware of climate but are too self-absorbed to adequately care.

The rest of us along with the scientific community understand the big picture. The height, length, breadth, and depth of the whole deal. We are personally and professionally trying to do what we can to enact solutions, mostly feeling powerless.

To survive, at some point all of these groups need to come together with a purpose and a plan. I am unwilling to resign the world to a Mad Maxx scenario. I hope we collectively transcend to a higher level of consciousness. That's what will be required.
