now open for biz! Well, mostly.
Steven D posted a message to some of us here to gauge the interest in any c99 individuals interested in posting a podcast once or twice a week, or just once a month, even, as the mood strikes. For those interested pods need to be limited to 10-15 mins. max., but they can be as short as 3 or 4 minutes. Totally up to you, the c99 podcaster.
We're really looking for the once-a-week types, but the once-a-month c99ers are welcome as well! The idea here is to get the voices out there, attract more eyeballs to here, the mother ship!

Why Spreaker? It has a few options for podcasting that more will be comfortable with, for one. And, two, they offer a bunch of distribution places to park our pods beyond Spreaker. FB and Twitter for two. So, it's an opportunity to expose C99 to the FB and Twitter crowds, along with your FB and Twitter followers.
I posted a "tutorial" of sorts on Spreaker, but there are Much better How To tutorials on UToob, and Spreaker has a pretty good FAQ, so is relatively easy to figure out. You just need you built-in computer mic, or VoIP (or Gaming) headset, and you're good to go! No need to spend a fortune on gear you don't need.

Much as I like the idea, I absolutely suck at public speaking.
Hell, I'm surprised I even made it through Public Speaking as a required college course. Worst course ever, behind Windows Server, because we never actually did anything in that class besides listen to the professor talk about how he used to play Half Life at his swanky IT job back in the early 2000s and watch stupid movies like Untraceable. Because, you know, serial killers can hack anything. Even cars.

I support the efforts for sure. I don't have the time to be fully educated on the topics.
I would suggest perhaps a two-stage format. The first would be just 1-2 minutes, as a synopsis or overview. Then a more in depth stage to fully cover the topic.
Some FB people, even though they are radically intelligent and incisive, sometimes just go on borderline rambles to the point of catharsis. After a hard days work, I just like people to make their points and make them clear, and concise.

most will be of the 4-8 min. variety. Short and sweet is better than going too long. As much as I like Jimmy Dore vids, I'm usually done after 10 mins., becuz I know the next 5 or 10 mins. are just going to be a rerun of the first 5 or 10, unless he has a guest.
Ten to 15 mins. doesn't sound very long, but it's usually enough to make your point.

oh no, I would ruin it for the audience, nobody could
stand my accent or worse, couldn't stand what I would say, it just wouldn't be acceptable. Better I never try. All these tricky seductions ... nah, nah. I think this is an organic American community, so I just listen and hopefully just think my things and say nothing. I feel like your German foundling, which you have taken into your tribe to walk with you. It is just that, some little thing the tribe is taking care of to survive, but nothing beyond that. And that is already a juuuuge privilege and pure luck.

most of us that didn't get here from Africa or a slow boat from China, got here from Europe, and to hear more Euro voices is a good thing! As for me, I spent a year and a half in Mannheim, courtesy of Uncle Sam, and wouldn't mind hearing the accent now and then! More now than then, in fact! So, should the mood strike, maybe team up with Lookout or one of the other ladies for a 10-15 min. rundown of events in Europe! And maybe get a whiff of some schnitzel!

Hahahaha! Public Speaking class.
I had a terrible time in that class too. But because I always had more to say than I had time to say it in. I sucked big time. Hated it too!
It was like my term papers. The one I had to do for the English Comp class for my Paralegal degree was suppose to be 10 pages long. It had to be turned in at 6:00 p.m. the night of our second to last class. At 5:50 I was still trying to cut it down from 26 pages. I was so rattled I cut it off mid-sentence. She told me that’s why I only got a B+ on it. I should have gotten an F for a mistake that stupid.
I am LOUSY at public speaking and if anyone here has paid any attention to my post history, They know I’ve been known to be rather long-winded in my writings here too.
There are plenty of people here who would be fantastic at podcasting so I hope you succeed in finding volunteers!
