Anyone else have a problem supporting Bernie at the Political Animal?

Here's the link: http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/political-animal-a/2016_05/does_sanders...

I linked to a Salon article and compared Hillary to Al Gore as an unlikeable policy wonk who would lose to Trump.

Has the Political Animal gone full DNC establishment?

Martin Longman is ok, but it always was DLCish. Steve Benen got his start there. Ed Kilgore also.

I had that impression and was on my best behavior. Had a couple of tepid discussions and noticed the Hillarybots were very bold and aggressive.

Now I know why.

Trump would treat Sanders like Mike Tyson treats a speed bag. It would not be pretty.

I replied: "Right. Trump will use his tiny hands to rip Bernie's hair out. rotflmao."

And I'm still laughing.

I never went in the comments there.

I pretty much only commented at TOP. But used to read it.

The writer of that linked post is the former NLinStPaul, a particularly odious Obamabot Kossak who, when hide rated for going over the edge, posted under the sock "cryptodira" and pretty much sank with that name as well - then went back to the NLinStPaul monniker.

The post is the usual variation on "I really was for Bernie ... until I wasn't." Reminds me so much of how people talked when Occupy Wall Street first began - at the first mention of rowdiness, folks who never supported OWS to begin with said the same thing ... "oh I really was for OWS ... until I wasn't."

She is a perfect example of not only thinking inside the box but confining oneself to a tiny corner of said box. I believe bruh1 over at TOP described her as "intellectually dishonest." That's putting it mildly.

Nancy LeTourneau?

I'd never heard of her before she began posting as a fill-in for Ed Kilgore. She was bad enough in that spot, and when they unaccountably hired her as his full-time replacement I stopped even bothering with the site. Smug, self-congratulatory, narrow, and intellectually dishonest: it was the full package all in one blogger. If she's resorting to banning people rather than having to engage with them in good faith, I'm not surprised. Even in her fill-in days, it was striking how she just ignored comments it would have been difficult for her to answer, in favor of either exchanges of love with her fans or bullying people whose comments didn't indicate that they'd likely win a direct exchange with her. Hiring her made me lose respect for the entire operation.

But maybe it's somebody else? In which case, I might find out just how much further my respect for them could drop.

When I used to have run-ins with her at TOP and also at Docudharma (before she got banned there), we'd call her method of argument "tap dancing." She'd skip from one thing to another rather than answer any point showing her reasoning to be flawed. She got righteously smacked down by Meteor Blades back in the day - that's when she changed her screen name. She couldn't face real criticism, still can't. I find her creepy, but then again, I have a back story with her from years ago.

So I think it's fair to say that it's not a matter of old personal animus getting in the way of recognizing her merits. Whatever those merits might be, because outside of being able to get a lot of words up on the screen very quickly, I'm not sure what hers are supposed to be. I really was shocked that they hired her. Surely there are honest bloggers of her political leanings who might have been found, and who might have been worth reading, as Kilgore often was, even when you thought they were getting it totally wrong?

Didn't even realize she was writing there till I read this essay and clicked the link.

She is simply intellectually dishonest. There's no integrity to her or to what she writes, and that shows when any kind of discourse is attempted.

Kilgore was interesting. Even Benen was ok back in 2012.

They put Longman in there because she was so bad I think. He's ok.

Did I know her?

She was NLinStPaul. She went by a sock name for a while after Meteor Blades exposed her for an idiot (not a difficult thing to do, lol), "cryptodira" and then went back to the former name.

I'd say she was a Z-list blogger. Not joking.
