Bernie Sanders promoted false story on reporting Russian trolls
Somebody’s lying here. And as much as I don’t trust Sanders seeing mention of David Brock makes me think all this is is an attempt to ensure he doesn’t run again in 2020. And iI magine The Clinton Creature and all her low rent minions would love to destroy the guy.
Thie time between now and November 2020 should be disgustingly interesting. But no matter how this shakes out, the old fool should have known better than to trust TCC, the Dims, and the DNC. Foolish old fart already knew they are liars and cheats.
Bernie Sanders promoted false story on reporting Russian trolls
The Vermont senator’s claim of sharing suspicious activity with the Clinton campaign never happened.
By EDWARD-ISAAC DOVERE 02/24/2018 06:56 AM ESTBernie Sanders is taking credit for action to combat the Russian incursion into the 2016 election that he didn’t have anything to do with — and didn’t actually happen.
*
It turns out that the purported Sanders’ staffer who said he tried to sound the alarm was a campaign volunteer who acted on his own, without any contact or direction from the Vermont senator or his staff. When the volunteer, John Mattes of San Diego, said he communicated with the Clinton campaign in local press accounts, he was confusing it for a super PAC supportive of Clinton.
Mattes’ claims, made in two phone interviews with POLITICO, came after Sanders and staffers offered numerous and conflicting answers in the span of a few hours on Wednesday about what he did about Russian meddling. Sanders and his top aide were at turns defiant and defensive during and after his interview with a Vermont radio station, even initially disputing special counsel Robert Mueller’s finding in his indictment last week that the Russians backed his campaign.
*
Asked why the senator relayed the Mattes story without checking it, Jones responded, “It sounds as if you're suggesting that we should no longer trust the reporting of outlets like NBC and that the information they provide requires independent verification?” She said that Sanders had referred to Mattes as being on his campaign because “Bernie considers the tens of thousands of people who volunteered during 2016 a part of his campaign.” She eventually acknowledged that Sanders “misspoke” in calling Mattes a member of his staff, but reasoned, “There were more than 1,000 staff members over the course of the campaign.”
*
Mattes acknowledged, though, that he didn’t come to suspect Russia was involved until weeks after the Clinton campaign publicly raised concerns about Russian hacking. He said he never talked to anyone on the Clinton campaign itself, though he believed that the researcher he spoke with at the pro-Clinton American Bridge PAC, run by David Brock, was tantamount to reaching the campaign.
The researcher, whose name Mattes shared under condition it not be published, did not respond to attempts by email or Facebook to verify Mattes’ claims of contact or information.

I wonder about all the people who are believing this Russia
narrative, particularly those old enough to remember the Cold War. Actually, how can any baby boomer who went thru the Cold War and Vietnam believe any of this shit. You have to be pretty brainwashed or conditioned into the myths and false narratives about America the Beautiful or you personally stand to gain from it, like those with the MIC.
I don't know what Sanders is doing here. His stances are seemingly contradictory but then again, like with Trump, if you read between the lines, notice what isn't being said, that tells the fuller story.
Not just Baby Boomers.
How can any GenXer or Millenial that remembers the phony WMD in Iraq nonsense buy into this phony Russia garbage?
I sort of understand why. It’s wishful thinking. I was just
as bad when it came to Obama. After he failed to deliver on any of his campaign promises, after the shit healthcare coverage plan he saddled us with, after the way he treated Wall Street as opposed to the defrauded Americans, etc., I still fell for the BS line that “when he doesn’t have to worry about being re-elected he’ll keep his promises” and not only voted for him again, I also signed up and worked for his camp again. Even though by that time I had extremely serious doubts about the guy and his motives.
I not only got played by the Dims, I got played by MYSELF!
You would think anyone with two functioning brain cells to work with would catch on to the obvious fact that these people want our votes, our money, and to keep any objections to being lied to or cheated to ourselves. It took me a second kick in the pants to catch on. But catch on I finally did.
Go figure.

@Big Al
Sounds kinda like an underground route to making the facts known without getting cut off the corporate media by not making obligatory talking point mention... dates back to desperation tactics I've read of the WW2 Resistance in occupied countries while very carefully working from within.
Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.
A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.
Just imagine if this was Trump making these claims
after he lost to Her. Her supporters would be laughing their butts off at him. Obama thought he'd head Trump off at the pass when he was saying that if he lost he would claim that the election was rigged. So Obama gives a speech and tells us that our elections are safe from outside interference. Oops.
Have you noticed that he hasn't weighed in on this Russian stuff? He knows that he can't say that Putin put Trump in office because it would reflect badly on him. One for saying that the elections were safe, and for letting Putin walk all over the country when he was president.

Well, well, well. What is he trying to hide?
No photos before or after the event and no discussion of what was talked about during the event? Is this America anymore? For crying out loud. This was a sporting event put on by MIT. Exactly what was discussed there?
I was thinking that he's been quiet because he was out getting his $400,000 reward for screwing us. Imagine that. Being paid almost half a million dollars just to talk to people. Al should have mentioned that in his essay.
