Album of the Week - 4-2-22

Afternoon folks!

This week, I uploaded a bunch of albums. There's a couple of obviously 70's era albums - one by Jimmy Witherspoon and a really odd Howlin' Wolf album where if you listen carefully you can hear the producer thinking aloud, "let's make him sound like one of those British rockers and cash in!"

There's a playlist of stuff from a rockabilly compilation that includes tunes by Link Wray, Carl Perkins and Sleepy LaBeef.

Also, albums from the Legendary Blues Band, Roomful of Blues, Earl Hooker and Doc & Merle Watson.

Enjoy!

Jimmy Witherspoon - Handbags and Gladrags

Howlin' Wolf - The Howlin' Wolf Album

Rockabilly Compilation

Legendary Blues Band - Woke Up With The Blues

Roomful of Blues - Live At Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel

Do You Remember The Great Earl Hooker?

Doc & Merle Watson - Pickin' The Blues

Have a great weekend!

I can't keep up with what's been going on
I think my heart must just be slowing down
Among the human beings in their designer jeans
Am I the only one who hears the screams
And the strangled cries of lawyers in love

God sends his spaceships to America, the beautiful
They land at six o'clock and there we are, the dutiful
Eating from TV trays, tuned in to Happy Days
Waiting for World War III while Jesus slaves
To the mating calls of lawyers in love

Last night I watched the news from Washington, the capital
The Russians escaped while we weren't watching them, like Russians will
Now we've got all this room, we've even got the moon
And I hear the U.S.S.R. will be open soon
As vacation land for lawyers in love

Now NATO’s got their war, Covid was such a bore
And I hear Ukraine’s new Churchill will be winning soon

Hey Joe,

I think that producer of the Howlin' Wolf ate the bad brown acid. I can sure see why the wolf did not like it. I also can't believe how stupid the titling was from a marketing standpoint. It was dumb on dumb. But interesting just the same.

thanks fer da sounds!

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.
