Album of the Week - 3-11-23
Submitted by joe shikspack on Sat, 03/11/2023 - 3:00pm
Afternoon folks!
This week we've got James Cotton doing some classic Chicago blues from his early days followed by an early Taj Mahal album. Following that is some blues-rock with the J. Geils Band recorded live and a studio album from country blues band Mother Earth (featuring Tracy Nelson). Then it's on to some bluegrass with a really great live album from The White Brothers (also known as the Kentucky Colonels) featuring Clarence White - better known for his work with The Byrds. Rounding out the order this week is some prog-rock with Curved Air.
Enjoy!
Here 'tis:
The J. Geils Band - "Live" Full House
Mother Earth - Make A Joyful Noise
The White Brothers - The New Kentucky Colonels Live In Sweden, 1973

hey joe
The J. Geils Full House Live was the record I came up on
(or whichever recording medium I had at the time). Whammer Jammer
was a favorite.
Many thanks, there is a lot here to absorb!

Thanks joe
I’m really enjoying all the early Taj Mahal from your collection and more.
I went to the source for My Babe …
Have a great weekend
I have Little Walter doing a version of
Inner and Outer Space: the Final Frontiers.
Willie Dixon wrote it for Little Walter. At that time,
Willie wrote a lot of stuff for particular artists like Howlin' Wolf, Little Walter and others.
