About Presidential Dictatorships
I see a lot of hair shirt wearing and pearl crushing going on. If Trumps wins it will be Armageddon!
Part of the problem is the current perception that the executive runs the country which by and large is false.
Trump is disliked equally by most of the Republican elite as he is by the the Democratic Party elite so in fact electing him would probably diminish the rise of executive power over the last few decades. No I am not arguing for his election.
However when you turn it around what would increase the power of the executive further?
Someone who is liked by the financial conglomerates and "royal" families around the world?
Someone with deep ties in the political elite?
Someone completely in synch with the MIC?
Someone completely at ease with the militarization of the police?
Someone completely at home with the national security apparatus just as long as they are excluded from its side effects?
Watching the circling of the wagons by many of the great and powerful and their media organs over the email leaks has been telling and worrying.
I am all for diminishing the power of the executive, yet all we have at the present is that the election of a President is the be all and end all, it's not or at least it shouldn't be. I have long suspected that the so called partisan divide is but a circus to try and fool us that there is indeed a choice.
When we want to increase the "choice" the unified howls of derision are telling.
When we propose something else there is a deafening clang as they close ranks.
Just a thought

Trouble is it seems to be everywhere [most everywhere]
More people are questioning the need for all this.
Here we are after over 18 frigging months of this bs and we're electing one person to be president over us all. People are worried one of them will start WWIII while other people are worried the other one will bring outright fascism to the country.
Are you kidding me? We can't think broader than that as humans? Well, a lot of people are thinking broader and wondering why we do this to ourselves.
From now on I refuse to vote for President of the United States because I do not want a President of the United States.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it (for now).
Glad I'm not alone in this, such a farce
And to top it off, the more mainstream media we consume
and the more use we make of the moguls’ web search engine and social media, well then, the more we are inundated by their advertising and, in the end, the richer they get.
