ABC News Censors RFK Jr
ABC’s Linsey Davis began the interview by introducing Kennedy as “one of the biggest voices pushing anti-vaccine rhetoric, regularly distributing misinformation and disinformation about vaccines, which scientific and medical experts overwhelmingly say are safe and effective based on rigorous scientific studies.”

That apparently was not enough. After telling viewers that this is one of his most famous stances (and its own disagreement), it then censored those views.
After airing the interview, Davis announced “[w]e should note that during our conversation, Kennedy made false claims about the COVID-19 vaccines. We’ve used our editorial judgment in not including extended portions of that exchange in our interview.”
Putting aside the federal law, this is wrong. ABC can challenge such views, but it is actively seeking to prevent voters from hearing a presidential candidate on an issue of great public interest and debate.
It is particularly troubling after prior media censorship has been shown to have been wrong in silencing dissenting scientific views.
We have seen various journalistic and scientific figures banned for expressing skepticism over pandemic claims from the origins of the virus to the efficacy of certain treatments. For example, when many people raised the possibility that the virus may have been released from the nearby Chinese virology lab (rather than the “wet market” theory), they were denounced as virtually a lunatic fringe. Even objections to the bias of authors of a report dismissing the lab theory were ridiculed. The New York Times reporter covering the area called it “racist” and implausible. Now, even W.H.O. admits that the lab theory is possible and Biden officials are admitting that it is indeed plausible.
The same is true with the debate over the efficacy of masks. For over a year, some argued that the commonly used masks are ineffective to protect against the virus. Now, the CDC is warning that the masks do not appear to block these variants and even CNN’s experts are calling the cloth masks “little more than facial decorations.”
It is also not clear where ABC draws the line. Joe Biden has made so many false statements that the Washington Post gave him a “bottomless Pinocchio.” Likewise, many view contested claims over climate change and transgender issues to be dangerous. Will ABC now be censoring these other candidates or positions?
As noted by ABC, the overwhelming weight of scientific opinion still disagrees with Kennedy. That is fair to note. However, ABC is now claiming the right to censor presidential candidates to protect the public from harmful thoughts or disinformation, including major issues behind a campaign. It is wrong for both the country and for journalism.
We do not have to be protected from dangerous thoughts by the media. A far greater danger lurks in the indoctrination and orthodoxy that comes from censorship.

Double-vaxed, single-boosted, have now had Covid 5 times... I am angered beyond words at this redefinition/Bowdlerization of the word "vaccine", because it sure as fuck hasn't turned out to be at all "effective", despite all (now denied) promises to the contrary.
The continued insistence that the vaccines have been unassailably scientifically proven beyond the shadow of any possible doubt to be "safe and effective" (by the scientifically sound processes used by the scientists to do sciencey things like this) does nothing but denigrate the entire concept of science in the minds of Joe and Mary Sixpack. I'm a scientist, as well as an engineer, and I object most strenuously to being tarred with this very broad brush. I'm not a "scientist" sucking Da Gummint's hind tit.
Science is never settled: science reacts to evidence contrary to whatever current knowledge may assert, by evolving and increasing understanding. Using "science" in a cowardly attempt to prevent the entire discussion from taking place is a goddamned abomination.

I’m sorry that you have gotten sick so often after believing that getting jabbed would protect you. You’d think that at least one of the 20 people in the video that said that the jabs would protect you and end the pandemic would question why after they had gotten jabbed numerous times they would be getting sick over and over, but not one of them did. Both Fauci and Walensky are still saying safe and effective when both of them have gotten infected more than once after their jabs. And you’re right that they changed the narrative midstream after it was obvious that they weren’t effective at all. Biden, Fauci, Walensky and the other heads of state flat out said that if you got jabbed you wouldn’t get infected or transmit it to others. Nowhere did they quantify that with “well it might keep you out of hospital" like they are trying to sell now. Nor did they tell us that we would have to keep getting them over and over into infinity. I’d be just as pissed as you are. Especially when the jabs were never tested for efficacy and all those people saying that they were effective had to know that. Fauci and Walensky certainly did because they had access to the trial notes before they authorized them. John Campbell actually flipped his lid when he read that the jabs didn’t stay in the arm and that information was also known before authorization. I’m surprised that he stayed on YouTube after that episode.

adequately alive, for the moment. It's been a year since my last bout.
I don't think that covid will kill me anymore, anyway. We did lose one more friend a couple of months ago (the ex-singer who was still on supplemental O2 for a couple of years after her first bout, and was still fighting long covid; congestive heart failure).
No, what's going to kill me will either be getting vaporized, or heart failure from having one too many realistic nightmares about getting vaporized. No smiley.

It was Dec. 2019 when I got a flu/pneumonia that lasted 4 months. (COVID was not on the radar at the time.) 10 (more or less) months later, antibodies for COVID showed up. I still cough. I just took an over the counter pill called Mucous Relief. 2 1/2 years later, I have symptoms. I also had this out of the blue skin rash in mid-summer 2020. That lasted 2 years, now only seems to affect the soles of my feet.
So, I haven't vaxxed, haven't had COVID again, but that first bout is still with me.
We were all fucked up, usefewersyllables.
Neither of us did anything wrong.
And we are all subject to being turned to ashes in an instant.

Btw, Texas Attorney General joined several other states to investigate COVID vaccine production and distribution in an effort to bring prosecutions against the agencies and pharmaceutical companies for the harm they did to citizens with the vaccines.

People have split off from friends and family over vaccinations. It has caused a huge societal rift. It is a make or break issue for many voters.
There is quite a bit of stenography going on in the push for war with China, and the proxy war with Russia. Unfortunately, people have been fairly supportive of the proxy war and the pivot to Asia.

The vaccine
mandates -- get the jabs to keep your job or your student/staff/faculty status -- affected many millions and not in a positive way, and many families had someone, or knew someone, who experienced a serious adverse event or worse. These people are unlikely to forget what was sold to them even as the mandates quietly are removed.
For sure, in 2023 vaccines are not the top issue, and RFK Jr recognized that in his announcement speech where he spent very little time on the mandates and a good deal of time, 20 min or so, talking about the war in Ukraine and how the natsec state sucks up so much of the annual budget. And as a student of the Cuban Missile Crisis under his uncle, RFK Jr appears very keenly aware of the dangers of going toe to toe with a major nuclear adversary.

How statistically significant are excess deaths now? They might have been statistically significant when Delta was dominant, but people are figuring out what the Danes knew in February of last year, which is that Omicron is not Delta. Figuring that out ought to keep the death rate down.
Here's a phenomenon which will become very much statistically significant -- de-dollarization. Sure, it's been going on for awhile, but the Biden administration's temper-tantrum over Ukraine (and its forthcoming temper tantrum over China) has made it far, far worse than it would otherwise be. Wait until the global banks start dumping their dollar-denominated asset reserves on the open market, causing hyperinflation on the level of 1923 Germany. Then you'll see a pretty solid excess death rate here in the US.
