05/02 - El dos de Mayo 1808
Goya's El dos de Mayo 1808 memorializes a popular uprising against Napoleon Bonaparte's occupying troops in Madrid on May 2, 1808. The scene in question, "The Charge of the Mamelukes" attempts to capture some of the street fighting between the populace and the Mamelukes of the Imperial Guard that took place in the vicinity of the Puerta del Sol. This uprising was one of the drivers of the nationwide insurrection against French rule. The eventual Spanish War of Independence that grew out of it overlapped the Peninsular War between the forces of Britain, Portugal and Spain, largely under Sir Arthur Wellesley against France.

The leader of the Nazis that day became the head of the parliament a few years later for those who don't understand how deeply the Nazis are embedded in the Ukrainian power structure. How easily we are deceived.
Well despite the horrors, it is mid spring and flowers are blooming, the garden is growing, and grass needs mowing. Onward.
Thanks for the OT, and y'all have a good one!

The Japanese groups struck me as very strong - as with Yosui Inoue.
I wished I could read the listener comments.
But instead here I see leaves being tapped and rising back up like individual piano keys.

Seventeen years at Amy's Kitchen? That chick deserves a medal!
--- me me me
In 1988 I was a worker and voting member of the Alvarado Street Bakery Co-Op. We voted to loan Amy's Kitchen $10k so they could buy a big freezer or trailer or some such. As members, we had something called "fiduciary duty" to know wtf we were voting on, so we had to be edjumacated enough to know what fiduciary meant, at least. lol We hired consultants to school us most of the time.
I still eat ASB bread, it's mostly made with ground sprouted wheat berries instead of ground flour, I think it is easier to digest. And I still kabitz inside my head when the loaf or the packaging is not perfect.
I never ever eat Amy's Kitchen crap. One time I interviewed for an IT job at Amy's Santa Rosa HQ, the worker abuse was so obvious I couldn't follow through. It was such an awful feeling, it made me regret that loan forever. Live and learn.
Where was I? Oh yeah, Maria:
