Remembering jbou from Times Past
RIP jbou. I always enjoyed his unique perspective! To me, you could not hate the guy no matter what he said, he was so witty.. you had to laugh!
Here is his last diary (I went there so you dont have to, with respect to the guy, I'm copying and pasting hope its ok):

I might not agree with what you're saying but I'll fight to the death for your right to sound like a god damn fucking moron. why are you like this?
Never forget: the earth wants us as a species dead. And I don't blame her.
You shouldn't be allowed to run for president if you haven't, at least once in the past year, muttered to yourself: "I'm such a fraud."
'Entitled optimism,' should be a phrase because nearly everyone in western society is infected with it.
I hope this election doesn't cut into anymore of my "emotionally detached" time.
a bridge too burnt

Here is his obituary, loved and admired, also he was a caring person IRL:

I remember him.
Very nice post.
He was young
Thanks for letting us know that he died. How sad.
I'm very sorry to hear this. He was quite young.
Thanks for the obit, it fills out what I knew from him at the other blog and shows he was an excellent person. Really excellent person. Very sad. RIP jbou.
Oh Wow...
This one really sucked the wind out of my lungs! I had no idea. I read most of his diaries, and even commented with him a few times. Different type of diary, but some days it was exactly what I needed.
Rest in peace, jbou... you will be remembered fondly, and with that you achieve immortality.
Really sad.
I always enjoyed his diaries.
Thanx, jbou, & I'll miss you.

Always left you thinking
from the subject title onward.
Too damn young -- then again, my dad was only 47 when a heart attack felled him. But he lives on through his words through the eternity of the Internet.
am planning to go back and read
some of his posts sometime soon. if mitch hedburg were political, and delivering one liners in his pajamas at home, he'd be jbou.
did 9 months in California prison, because Neoliberal Democrats and GOP maggots work together to profit off the drug war
So sad. So young. Heart failure.
They are flying younger every day. Drug ODs are daily here. Some bad shit on the streets. jbou was always pithy. I breathe for him.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
Thank you, Bluesee
I logged on to see if the crushing news of jbou's death was noted.
In his honor ...

He was one of the few who continued to draw me there. He was truly a gem.
Well, darn. Too often, the sensitive ones, we lose them so soon.
The ones who ride roughshod over others, nothing can fell them, they seem to go on for ever.
Rest in peace, jbou — Jon William Boudreau. Goodbye, and thanks for your words and spirit.
Word.
Thanks for bringing the news and links here. I just read some of his comments not very long ago, so it seems this was sudden.
Another Connecticut Yankee, with pithy humor and a kind heart.

Oh, no!
I always loved and T&Rd his diaries. I was hoping he might find his way here. He always made me laugh, always made me think, and always made perfect sense to me.
What a loss. So tired of losing men of good will, when the vultures and parasites keep hanging on.

RIP jbou

This is too sad.
RIP jbou

Too young. RIP

This is so sad
I followed jbou over there because I loved his off beat humor. According to his obituary, he was a fine human being too. And far too young to have been felled by a heart attack. Sad.
Do I hear the sound of guillotines being constructed?
“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." ~ President John F. Kennedy
So sad to read this. I followed him b/c of his
keen mind, sharp wit and unique way of looking at things.
RIP man. You will be missed.
Don't believe everything you think.
I came over to post something, so glad to see you already did!
I thought everyone here would enjoy this diary title of his, http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/04/01/1509166/-Arguing-on-Dailykos-is..., "Arguing on Dailykos is like taking your time and setting it on fire". For those reluctant to go there, I actually thought the title was the best part of that one (if not by much!). I wonder if we could occasionally post other diaries of his here so more could read him without providing a bunch of traffic to TOP?

Oh no. How did I miss this sad news?

I didn't always like them,
And, I'll admit it, I didn't always understand them, but I always read his diaries. I knew he was on to something, and probably understood it better than I would. I will miss him. Way too soon.
