That other place is like Flies On Shit!

Sorry, this is just a little rant. I must get it out or I might explode, and I just vacuumed the living room and I don't want to create another mess!!

It is getting ridiculous over at DKos. If you make a pro-Bernie, or anti-HRC comment, the Shillary folks start swariming over you like flies on shit. It's ridiculous! It's almost like they can smell the win, and are circling like sharks to cut down, denigrate and demoralize the losing side!!

I'm so infuriated with the whole political process, the rigged system, and Dems specifically, that I sometimes have thoughts that I'd rather Trump win than Hillary! An insane man who probably hasn't a clue what he's doing, and is clearly incompetent to be president frequently seems preferable to that corporate, war mongering bitch and her low-integrity voters! Grrrr.....

Thanks for listening, or not!! LOL Just had to vent somewhere that I wouldn't be trampled on like piece of garbage in the road!

Believe me. That's how it's done to demoralize you. Make you feel like you are in the small minority. HRC and the "elite" are stealing this election becasue the majority of people are with Bernie but are being divided and conquered. Do not get discouraged. HRC is going down.

My DKos usage has always been cyclical, and I'm in a frequent user state at the moment... . but I should probably take your advice. Sometimes I just want to take my computer and throw it out the 5th story window, I get so damned mad!! LOL

I just don't get how someone can support HRC. I can't get my mind around it. I find it just as difficult to think with that as I do supporting Trump. They are both revolting and dangerous human beings. How is it that out of 310 million people in this country those two ended up being the chosen ones!!!

It has crossed my mind recently that part of the reason we ended up with a Trump and an HRC as the chosen ones is because that's the way the parties wanted it to be. HRC is so corrupt and so beholden to Big Everything and she's so pro-war that it would probably suit the GOP very well to have her as President. I'm sure that's not the case, but it seems a bit fishy to me. I've always been of the frame of mind that the parties are much more in cahoots than they let on. It's just implausible that we find this country in the deep shit it's in and it's all the fault of one party.

I absolutely believe that Hillary was the one chosen by the DNC, but I don't believe that Trump is the Repub nominee because it's the way the RNC wanted it. The Republican party made the mistake of having an honest election in a year of voter insurgency. The RNC and all of the status quo Rethugs are horrified. The two living GOP ex-presidents won't endorse Trump. The list of elected Rethugs who are running away from Trump is long. The list of his tepid endorsers is longer.

Can you imagine if the Dem primary system was "on the level" like the Rethugs'? Plenty of debates, scheduled to get the most eyeballs, not the least number of viewers. No super delegates to use in inflating Hillary's fake lead early on. A national party chair who kept her thumb off of the scale. Reasonable delegate allocation. If the Dems' primary system was as fair as the Repubs', I swear to God, Bernie would be the nominee.

to help elect president Obama. I got involved not because I am a partisan or was that interested in politics. From the perspective of a Washington resident my state does better under republicans because they ignore us. Federal Democrats tend to find something to damage.

Sarah Palin is what got me involved. I have lived in the rural west all my life. I have also worked and lived in Alaska. I know her type, every small town has one.

I worked very hard knowing that overcoming racism was a steep challenge. Sarah Palin made it easier everytime she opened her mouth. I had little time think deeply about why John McCain would choose someone that was the equivalent of a millstone around his neck.

After the successful election and the following great recession I realized John McCain had taken a dive. Sarah Palin was chosen because she was scary to most folks, who in their right mind would put Ms. "I can see Russia from my house" in charge of nuclear weapons? While flaming racists still would not vote for the democrat most rural folks, for intance, are actually fairly neutral and are more likely to vote republican because they want to be left alone. Sarah was like a fire under their butt to rethink what would be worse.

Had John McCain been elected The republicans would have owned the recession. It would have been the end of everything they stood for. In the end we played right into the hands of those who are directing this movie. The movie this time appears to be the same. Trump as the unpalatable one. So why are they wanting to take a dive this time?

The Republicans had a fair and honest primary. So, it's not that they're throwing the election. They're stuck with Trump because DWS is not the GOP chair.

However, after watching This Morning, this morning, on ABC, and hearing the possible Libertarian candidate, I see Trump as the DNC plant to split the party and ensure a $hillary win. And that makes my stomach churn.

My brain went into a total system collapse. When I regained consciousness I smoked some Kush and regained a smidgen of emotional stability.

Are people who post at The GOS and DU really that uninformed? That certainly explains why they support Hillary.

In another thread I got in to a short discussion about why anyone had a problem with Hillary receiving nearly a quarter billion dollars in speaking fees from Wall Street Robber Barons. Nobody can possibly be that stupid.

Never mind that the war in Afghanistan is still going strong and there are troops back in Iraq.
Oh, and in Libya, Syria and now in Yemen too.
Not to mention the troops that are in countries surrounding Russia because of Russia's aggression. Remember all the countries Russia has invaded recently? Me neither.

The Benghazi committee asked her the wrong questions.
They should have asked her what Stevens and the CIA were doing with the weapons from Libya and why they were sneaking them into Syria.
But the republicans probably already knew.

Who engineered a coup of a legally elected government there? Who then put Nazis and pliant corrupt pols (including US citizens) in place to "lead" Ukraine? Who the fuck then disavowed a referendum that the people of Crimea decided by over 95% to rejoin Russia? Because yannow the fucking Nazis there are now busily "lustrating" (look up the fucking word "lustration") the whole area of the country they control and kidnapping, raping, torturing, and killing (even burning them alive) ethnic Russians and the left-Socialists, Commies, and Russian sympathizers-so it seems Crimea made a prudent choice-as did the Eastern provinces closest to Russia, who are predominantly ethnic Russian-they are torn between a federation or annexation-but there is no fucking way they will tolerate Nazis ruling their land. And I'd like to see the proof of Russian military in East Ukraine, but don't give me any shit about troops in Sevastopol-the Russian naval base in Crimea because I guarantee you if Guantanamo was about to be overrun, OUR FUCKING TROOPS would not allow that to happen-and that isn't even a strategic naval base, ya dig?

the inhabitants of the supposed "occupied" area to maintain the status quo then maybe we need to redefine "occupation". I want to know who was actually putting troops in, and where? (Since the base was already Russian, there was no insertion, and the peninsula voted to stay Russian). And you don't get to quote Shaun Walker or the other lying US stenographers, or the slimy innuendo engaged in by Killary's State Dept and her Neocon buddies like Nuland and Kagan. I want facts, and proof-like the proof Russia gave the US that the Sarin in Syria was delivered by the rebels. And who the fuck was "asking" Russia to leave, BTW? Hmm? US Nazi stooges? Yeah, that worked out well for the Nazi occupied area, no? Maybe we should offer the fascists a nuclear sub base in addition to inserting our neolib NATO and US robber barons to rape the rest of the country?

I'm sorry, but you seem to be participating in a different conversation than the one I thought we were having. You brought up Guantanamo, and I thought that I asked if you agreed that Guantanamo was an example of American bad behavior (sieze and occupy, and *we* were asked to leave not the Russians) and you're in my face with the Russians again. I don't know who Shaun Walker is, so if I quoted him, please tell me which words and I'll apologize for the unknowing plagiarism.

YOU are making the equivalence of "invasion" and "seize and occupy" in BOTH Ukraine and Cuba. MY point was simply that Crimea was Russian originally, and with a strategic nuclear base, would not have been easily given up to a bunch of fucking US-backed Nazis in any event, but damn near the entire populace voted to stay Russian-and they had very good reasons to do so-thus our holding Gitmo was a good comparison of BS propaganda relating to invasions and military bases. Or is this whole snarky comment just so much innocent commentary on US bad behavior?:

"Apparently my education is lacking
I was laboring under the impression that invasion was more or less equivalent to putting troops by force in someone else's territory, regardless of the reasons, or who is right or wrong in any dispute. I'm glad you are here to do that, JuliaW.

Americans have been utterly bamboozled by the US overthrow of Ukraine's democratically elected government. And manipulated with the pre-programmed boogyman trigger word: "Russia." The fact that they think Russia invaded Ukraine is simply sad, geopolitically speaking. The US has four geostationary satellites over Ukraine and yet they cannot come up with a picture of Russia "invading" Ukraine. Nor can they come up with a picture of MH17 being shot down.

Both East Ukraine and Crimea held votes for Self-Determination (a human right). The Crimeans voted for re-unification. East Ukraine for a referendum to operate as an independent state within Ukraine. Both Pew and Gallup verified those majority votes one year later.

West Ukraine (Kiev), the largest land mass of Ukraine, has never been attacked by anybody. The neonazis who rule from Kiev now, installed by the US, are still bent on the genocide of ethnic Russians who have lived in the East for centuries. They refuse to abide by the Minsk II agreement they signed with Germany and Russia and have continued with humanitarian atrocities against the East and Crimea, blocking all deliveries of medicine, blocking electricity and water, and seizing all of the people's bank accounts. The US participates in this atrocity by sea.

The NeoNazis have shredded the Ukraine constitution, removing many human rights including Self Determination. (I read constitutions and may be the only one who knows that.) All without the people's consent.

I should think that's probably at the top of her agenda, and you are exactly right. If she allows cuts to our social safety net the majority of people who voted for her will justify it in a million different ways. Then they'll blame it on the GOP. Then they'll vote for her again 4 years later. Then they'll bitch about how nothing changes, and they can't afford to retire, or their healthcare, and try to convince us to vote for her too!!

It's enough to make you wonder if it would be better to have a president Trump. If he proposes wars, SS cuts, etc... Dems will be a bit more inclined (not much, of course) to try and stop him. since portions of the Grand Bargain have been passed with each major legislation since the proposal was presented in December 2010.

Republican Senator Rob Portman boasted (2-3 years ago) at a Pete Peterson annual fiscal shindig, that lawmakers had already passed approximately 85% of the Fiscal Commission's recommendations.

Since Senator Portman said that, numerous more cuts have been passed to Medicare, and even policy changes to Medigap Insurance go into effect in 2020--they will shift additional costs to seniors [courtesy of Senators Boehner and Pelosi].

Also, cuts to Social Security Spousal benefits were passed in legislation in winter of 2015--effective on April 30, 2016.

As far as I can tell, no one cares.

I don't support Trump and I don't think he's the "dumb jerk" he's playing on reality TV in order to get the votes he's gotten. He's been masterful, really, in manipulating the Grand Ole Party. Look what he's done. More than $2 billion in free media, and the wrath of the Republican establishment.

Trump has done what we've wanted to do for decades: destroyed the Republican party. First victim, JEB! and the establishment ( wasn't it something like $160 million JEB! spent?) and the next 15 fell in order.

Remember when someone criticized Trump for giving money to politicians, including Clintons, and he explained he gave politicians money so they'd do what he asked them to do. He knows just what to say to get the "I'm mad as hell & I'm not going to take it anymore" crowd.

Clintons don't know how to fight him, cuz he IS a "loose cannon." He doesn't say & do what he's "supposed" to say. Programmed Clintons doesn't know how to deal with it. Trump lies, and he & we know he is. Clintons lie, and we're supposed to ignore it and pretend they're telling the truth. Clintons keep repeating lies, and we're expected to keep pretending they're not lies.

Trump has an MBA from Wharton. His older sister is a Judge, advocating for women's rights. Clintons siblings - dumb jerks!

I don't have to vote for POTUS ( I'm in MA) but I will. If Bernie Sanders is not the nominee, I'll be one of the 47% voting for Trump as a vote AGAINST Clintons. Remember A B C , I still feel that way: Anybody But Clintons.
Trump destroys the Republican party if he wins, the Democratic party has a chance to get out from under the clutches of the criminal Clintons/DLC/Third Way.

The message we want to send has to be both that we are done with the oligarchs control of our process AND a rejection of conservatism both in order to be fully effective IMO...

Other than that I agree with your sentiments entirely. Smile

I can't tell what the state of play is over there, they are on either 22 or 42 states. But they seem to need help.
So lets give it to them.
Bernie and Jill have the same platform, so lets get one of them elected.
The Cruptadems think they are the only game in town.
Lets show them different.

I've been reading a great deal about Jill Stein and the Green Party.

It is not the same "platform." There are things Jill Stein supports, which Bernie doesn't. Also, think a Third Party would be more powerful than adding on to the Green Party. They've been active for years, and look how much more Bernie Sanders has been able to accomplishment in the year he's been running.

They have some similarities, but are definitely not the same.

I'm looking to create the People's Progressive Party, not joining an existing party. Think that's the more powerful way forward.

having been a Green most of the time since 1992.

The problem is of course that the Greens are completely ineffective. They can't support their candidates with anything more than a ballot line. You'll need a party that will compromise principles in order to get a crowd of people willing to commit to class struggle, or some semblance thereof. Class struggle is the most basic form of political conflict, and Bernie's struggle against Wall Street is the most vital sign of his success.

Political platforms are meaningless. Pay attention to what people do, not what they say, and if you've learned anything from Hillary Clinton it should be this. Here is my political platform:

Assume man to be man and his relationship to the world to be a human one: then you can exchange love only for love, trust for trust, etc. If you want to enjoy art, you must be an artistically cultivated person; if you want to exercise influence over other people, you must be a person with a stimulating and encouraging effect on other people. Every one of your relations to man and to nature must be a specific expression, corresponding to the object of your will, of your real individual life. If you love without evoking love in return – that is, if your loving as loving does not produce reciprocal love; if through a living expression of yourself as a loving person you do not make yourself a beloved one, then your love is impotent – a misfortune.|XLIII|| -Karl Marx, from The Power of Money

“When there's no fight over programme, the election becomes a casting exercise. Trump's win is the unstoppable consequence of this situation.” - Jean-Luc Melanchon

In Tennessee, the Green Party is fortunate enough to have earned the scorn of the Republican Party and its Demo sidekicks, who passed a law imposing ridiculous requirements on political parties to qualify to be on the state ballots. Because the restrictions were so obviously unreasonable, the Federal judiciary in Nashville routinely orders the state to put Greens on the ballot.

Federal Court: Tennessee Ballot Access Law Unfairly Burdens Third Parties

In 2012, Jill Stein got around 6,600 votes in the state, including mine.
I live in East Tennessee, where the Demo Party is almost completely non-existent, except in the cities of Knoxville and Chattanooga. My state senator and state rep are Republicans who always run unopposed. It would be great if the Green Party would get enough votes/registrations that it wouldn't need court intervention to stay on the ballot, but they won't get many of either around here.

It became a mind control cult long before I reached the point of swearing it off. I know somebody who used to be a Rajneeshee, and the Hillary cultists display a lot of the same behavior as the Rajneeshees.

Beware the bullshit factories.

1. Don't go if possible. Like others have said, clicks = $ for kos.

2. If you MUST go, please install uBlock Origin or another ad-blocker before going, to prevent ads from loading there.

3. Take heart. Since kos' brilliant decision, their website ranking in US has gone from #150 to #267. Like a rock: https://www.quantcast.com/dailykos.com#trafficCard

That place is only for clueless Republican-lites, and should be properly ignored and/or laughed at.

in one simple edict! Expand that link to view it at 90 days and you can see the continual downward trend. One big peak on March 13th and downhill from there. Looks like the idiot in charge over there has committed website suicide. And if you think the numbers are down now, watch what happens when the primary is over and the paid Hillary trolls aren't getting paychecks anymore. It will become the Daily Ghost Town. There will be more people visiting Bodie, CA. than that place.

I know it's wrong of me to take delight in your posting of the kos stats, but I really appreciate it because I don't have to go there to find out and I'm glad that there is quantifiable consequences for such boneheadedness.

And they say things that are transparently false. The diary about Hillary calling Jeb's donors had endless comments about how this was a tactical effort to drain money from GOP donors, but if the commenter knows this, don't you think the donors themselves would too?

Please help support caucus99percent!

I was one of the first 7000 users over there. The site started out by attracting many Deaniacs... although I wasn't one of those I admire the job he did afterwards at DNC.

In 2008 I think a lot of people -- myself included -- were fooled into thinking the Obama moment was a real chance for change. That ended when he chose all the usual suspects for economic advisors, and when he quickly abandoned the public option for ACA.

I think there's a great chance for Hillary to win this election but for Repubs to make huge gains in 2018 or for them to unseat her after one term.

Someone asked why Repubs didn't try harder this cycle, I think the smart money waits on the next recession, because nobody other than Bernie has a serious agenda to take on the continuing cycle of bubbles and tepid recoveries that are the byproduct of policies favoring rentiers and wealth hoarders. If Ms Clinton presides over a recession, the Dems would be toast. I don't think the usual solution of starting a war would even help her.
