Five Children Murdered After They Were Deported Back To Honduras
Between five and ten migrant children have been killed since February after the United States deported them back to Honduras, a morgue director told the Los Angeles Times. Lawmakers have yet to come up with best practices to deal with the waves of unaccompanied children apprehended by Border Patrol agents, but some politicians refute claims that children are fleeing violence and are opting instead to fund legislation that would fast-track their deportations.
San Pedro Sula morgue director Hector Hernandez told the Los Angeles Times that his morgue has taken in 42 dead children since February. According to an interview with relatives by the LA Times, one teenager was shot dead hours after getting deported. Last year, San Pedro Sula saw 187 killings for every 100,000 residents, a statistic that has given the city the gruesome distinction as the murder capital of the world. That distinction has also been backed up by an U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency infographic, which found that many Honduran children are on the run from extremely violent regions “where they probably perceive the risk of traveling alone to the U.S. preferable to remaining at home.” Hugo Ramon Maldonado of the Committee for the Protection of Human Rights in Honduras believes that about 80 percent of Hondurans making the exodus are fleeing crime or violence.
Since October 2013, Border Patrol agents have apprehended about 63,000 unaccompanied children and another 63,000 “family units” (adults and children) at the southern U.S. border. While a steady stream of deported immigrants are flown back to Honduras about three times per week, the United States sent its first planeload of about 40 Honduran mothers and children from this particular wave in mid-July. Those individuals were dropped off in Honduras’ capital San Pedro Sula.
*
Still, deportations — and sometimes certain death — will likely not stop. Especially jarring comes recent news out of a New Mexico immigration detention center where multiple lawyers representing women claim that the Honduran consulate is advising immigrants “to forego legal counsel and consent to deportation,” according to a Santa Fe affiliated public radio station.

*sigh* I read this when I was out at lunch with my oldest. She was rather shocked at the torrent of nastiness I let loose. I wonder, is this what that baby-shit-yellow pantsuit wearing wretched cow would want for her kid? Someone needs to to confront that nasty wench and ask her if she's happy with the 'message' she sent. Maybe ask if this is the life she'd want for her kid the liar and the grandbaby.
I hate it when I get this mad.

Hillary: deport children to "send a message"
Hillary Clinton Defends Call To Deport Child Migrants
These children are refugees. They ought not to be detained or deported. What is the matter with our politics?

Well, some of us got a message, loud and clear.
Don't think it was the one she wanted to send, though.

Don't bother to read the comments on
The website, it's full of insensitivity comments from people who have no concept or concern that the US created the heinous conditions that those kids are fleeing from.
I don't care that the media doesn't cover stories about the things that we write about here, or that are in the EBs that joe finds.

People agree with a Trump and others that say that the US should just carpet bomb the people in the Middle East because they are ignorant of why there's so much conflict in the area.
I see comments stating that they have been fighting for thousands of years, but they don't realize that the people over there are fighting us because we have destabilized those countries for a century and longer.
It's pointless to try to reason with those types of people. They won't listen.

It is my understanding of the law that people who have reason to fear for their lives have, at minimum, a right to a hearing before a judge before being deported. Children, in addition to an appointed lawyer, would be eligible to have a temporary guardian appointed. (If this is not the case I would like to be corrected.)
The Obama/Clinton team, which supported the overthrow of the democratically elected president and subsequent reign of terror on ecologists, unionists, school teachers, and others, should have to publicly explain their actions. To me, there is no excuse for this frightful state of affairs.

The US hasn't fought a war in self defense since Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. And some of the military forces fought against the Japanese, but why did the US need to fight in Germany? They didn't attack us. I do understand how bad Hitler was, but the banks and other people, corporations were supplying and financing him. As usual, the banks fund both sides.
I recently read an article that stated that Roosevelt and others knew about the concentration camps years before he decided to get the US involved in the war.
Has this been posted on top? I'd love to see how Hillary's supporters can defend this.
Scientists are concerned that conspiracy theories may die out if they keep coming true at the current alarming rate.
Japan and Germany were allies.
Germany declared war on the US on Dec 11, 1941, and Congress responded in kind later that day.
In practical terms, it made sense to apply our efforts in concert with those of our European Allies, particularly given the very real and reasonable fear that if we didn't the Russians would take all of Europe east of the Rhine, including a good chunk of northern Italy.
In 1939, American isolationism was very powerful. Hell, British isolationism was strong. The nightmarish and wholly pointless butchery that was WWI had given an entire generation of French, British, Americans and Canadians a healthy skepticism about the propaganda of the warmakers. For decades (and perhaps still today, I don't know) there were many who claimed that FDR knew in advance about Pearl Harbor but let it happen because it was the only way he could get the American people to support going to war on behalf of civilization, against the Nazis. This is the germ of the sick idea in the PNAC that what the country "needed" was a Pearl Harbor scale catastrophe, in order to make the American political scene safe for the right and proper exercise of American hegemonic power in the Middle East and elsewhere.
The bottom line being, I don't know when or why FDR "decided to get the US involved in the war", but it's quite certain that he decided to get the US involved in the war long before he admitted as much to the American people, and was actively putting American power to work against the Nazis long before Dec 1941.

indeed he was active pre-war
Especially about Europe. As Hitler rose FDR sent notable fact finding emissaries of all ilk to report on Hitler's doings, all before 1939 when Winston rose to power. Once that occurred FDR and Churchill joined arms in the fight against global tyranny.
We had been reading much of the Japanese Naval and diplomatic communications traffic prior to Dec 7th. And while it may seem telling that the carriers were not in harbor that morning, there is no evidence that FDR let it happen on purpose. Rather, we have evidence that if the information we had, had been properly interpreted and acted on in a timely fashion, we may have saved the battleships.
FDR decided to join the war actively in 1939 and committed acts of war against Germany before 1941. He just wasn't caught doing so publically.

Hitler declared war on us, not the other away around
we more than agreed to war with him of course. We welcomed it. In a world were Democracy was under attack on many fronts, by dictatorships of malevolent intent, FDR ever looked for ways to combat it. Hitler's declaration or war against us allowed FDR to act openly. As a history buff from birth, I found the book 'A Man Called Intrepid' by Stevenson (something like that), an illuminating insight into the behind the scenes war and pre-war times. Truly, if you want to learn how the CIA was birthed and how WWII was really won, this book will get you there. It was more than Russian blood that won the war.
Before 1939 there were programs of euthanasia in Germany whose lesson were later applied to the camps. And once Poland was invaded we did have intel on the massacres and the 1st large camps though it was often considered too fantastical to take seriously. Once the Wannsee Conference occurred in '42 we had Heydrich's blueprint before us. It's one of the major reasons why we assassinated him. We acted were we could, how we could, given all the complexities involved.

Here's an entertaining exercise in buffery:
1. Read Montgomery's memoirs.
2. Read A Man Called Intrepid. It is by William Stevenson, and about William Stephenson. (One of the 5 most important Winnipeggers ever, the others being Louis Riel, Oscar Brand, Neil Young, and Jonny Toews.).
3. Read Enigma (biography of Turing).
The fact that Montgomery couldn't tell the truth about how he was able to outwit Rommel -- and neither could anyone else -- gave him full license to assign the credit to his own genius. The last bits and pieces weren't released until the mid-90s, under the UK's 50-year embargo on certain types of classified info. Have you watched "The Bletchley Circle"? It's a Brit show, 2 series of 3-part murder mysteries, the conceit being that the amateur sleuths are a group of women who worked at Bletchley -- and of course, can't tell anybody in their lives about what they accomplished during the war. Netflix currently carries it.

yes, I've read all of those ....
Not sure if I've seen that exact show, but I've done much research into Bletchley, the code breaking and more.
One of the interesting revelations in the Intrepid book is that Rommel's success was largely predicated on intelligence from a traitor. Once that traitor was removed Rommel began to lose in the desert.

one of the other things we learned
(not sure if it was in Intrepid, which I read 40 years ago, or during the mid-90s deluge) was that Montgomery's success depended rather heavily on the Allies' ability to intercept Rommel's supply transports crossing the Mediterranean -- which they were able to do because they were decrypting all of Rommel's communications.

has it been that long? the time flies
The supply interdiction of Rommel's army is certainly mentioned in the book on Intrepid. Though not addressed at length.
One thing, as I recall, is that Montgomery was NOT trusted with all of the information gleaned from Enigma. I'm not sure he was ever privy to the source of his intel, though I may be mis-remembering.
As you point out, it's been a long time.

Not to nitpick here, but,
...where did you come up with "our" "assassinating" Hitler? He committed suicide in his bunker by shooting himself and his mistress/wife bit a cyanide capsule. They were then taken from the bunker by some of those with them, placed in a nearby bomb crater, doused with petrol and set fire.
No one of the allies assassinated Hitler. He killed himself rather than be captured or surrender.
We can't bitch about others revising history if we're doing it ourselves, can we?
I've reached the point in my life where embroidery and embellishment seem more each day to be a waste of time, since it's rather like a hermit crab gluing crap to its shell, when the moment it grows a bit larger it's just going to junk the shell for a bigger one.

Bless you for not being pissed
I read that 3 times and it still read wrong to me, but that's *me* not you.
I wasn't born when Hitler suicided. I was born a little bit after. The first Life magazine I remember looking at had photographs of the various extirmination camps in it. I learned to read at age 1 and had been driving my parents nuts asking then what various words were that I saw in the New York Times. Dad was homesick so he got the Sunday paper delivered to us in Dallas, and I'd stand on a chair, undo the bolt, move the chair, open the door and get the paper in almost every Sunday. The comics section was HUGE and in color and I loved that.
The Times had more funnies than the Dallas Morning News and the Dallas Times Herald combined. Also It had these feature magazines in it which were fun to read... and yes, I read that paper, even sometimes trying to figure out want ads.
So, cutting to the chase, I'm looking at photos of starving men and boys, starving women and children and dead bodies stacked like cordwood in pits, all in sepia or black and white, and I murmured to my mother's horror, pointing at a photo on a page that was all pictures and no text explaining them (the text was on the previous and following pages and this was a two page spread), "mommy look at Bergen Belsen. I was there, you know."
next page showed it WAS Bergan-Belsen. my mother, for the rest of HER life, was convinced I was a reborn soul. Dunno About that, but at 3-1/2, how the frack would I know that was what it was. I'd never seen photos before iN my life and SHE had just gotten in the mail and I was looking at the magazine for the first time, sitting with her. The protective paper wrapping on the mailed magazine had just been unrolled from it.
Reading about WWII Europe has always been like reading something I lived through, in an offhand kind of way. and it gave me nightmares when nothing else did.

"Women's rights are human rights."
She sure put that one into practice by shafting working-class women with policies that she's supported over the years.
She stole that phrase from a conference
a few years earlier by that name, so one cannot expect her to actually believe that she thought it was anything else but a catchy phrase.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.--Aristotle
If there is no struggle there is no progress.--Frederick Douglass
Did she now?
Well, I suppose the very fact that she said it was important, rather than the person that first coined it. Always late to the party, and not fashionably so.
I looked it up because I suspected some plagiarism
but then got distracted and never finished checking her China speech (1995) against the conference notes.
The conference was held by the UN World Conference on Human Rights in 1993. This article gives a brief description: Women's Rights Are Human Rights
Then there is this:
Politifacts graded it:
There are many, many examples of how her words do not meet her actions when it comes to women's right.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.--Aristotle
If there is no struggle there is no progress.--Frederick Douglass
She talks a good game.
And she always has.
And her fan club points to that long history of insincere lip service and argues that somehow it represents not just her genuine interest in the concerns of ordinary folks, but her accomplishments in addressing those concerns.
Good effing grief.

HRC supporters
are proof of how very much we need to elect Sanders. He is really big on helping people get help with mental health issues.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.--Aristotle
If there is no struggle there is no progress.--Frederick Douglass
Half True
So, she did say that, but it was the conference itself that had the most impact, and she didn't do any sort of follow up.
Bingo!
And no one ever calls her on these things. Another favorite is the perception she gives about her value at the Children's Defense Fund. At most she was there for nine months, but it was more likely six or maybe even less from what I have been able to find out.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.--Aristotle

No positive accomplishment, but "standing up for"
Her policies have hurt women and children really dramatically. Claiming to support women and children is not the same as actually doing it. Neat to get credit, while being destructive.
"Making a point" by causing the deaths of children, right! Nice. And she really sees no problem with that. Like Madeleine Albright saying that the deaths of 500,000 children in Iraq (from our sanctions) were "worth it."

We get what Hillary thinks, whether that is on order from Obama, or her own fiat. But she is not SoS now, Kerry is. So if State Dept runs INS policy, is it on Kerry now, or Obama? I know he has done some executive orders, does that override State?

...but totally stupid is not one of them. HRC was very fortunate that Bernie never took his gloves off and went after her. He kept to issues and not her record. The Donald will have a field day with exposing how corrupt she really is.
Trump's foreign policy speech - actually better than H's record
I don't agree with or like all of it, but he said some important things:
1. No more "trade" deals. They've only hurt our people. He's been consistent on this for a long time.
2. No more attacking little countries to benefit multinational's, or (claiming to) trying to turn them into our image, whether they like it or not.
3. America first - the interests of the American people come first, not subverting and droning other little countries, no more military outposts all over the world where they don't benefit our people. Buy American again.
Sometimes I wonder...
Is the "lesser of 2 evils" this time a person who has been blowing the racism and bigotry whistle from day one of their candidacy? If so, that is quite sad.

Agree with untimely
They're both fascists to different degrees. It's just that one already has a record of having people die as a result of their actions on a global scale, while the other has a chance that their fascism is just a front to win an election, that, like Hillary, he is simply playing a character for votes. He does have a record of playing a character for ratings, after all.
