Please allow me to introduce myself

Another exile from GOS. It seems you may have an influx of similarly situated individuals in the near future.

I was in a Bernie diary, where two individuals were discussing how every Bernie diary is quickly overrun with new users slamming Bernie. A new user that had just returned from a TimeOut for sh*tting in Bernie diaries, slammed Bernie supporters as being delusional and paranoid. My offensive statement: 'Speaking of new users...'

If only I had supported Hillary and her supporters more...

Oh well. I have been lurking here for the past few weeks, and hope to be able to contribute to the conversation.

Thanks for providing a site for the progressive voice.

the primary results, there's a very good chance that Alpha will post a 'primary watch' essay later this afternoon.

But, even if he doesn't, many of us will be here for post-election analysis/discussion.

seemed completely over the top. I like it here. I've only been here a few days, but I haven't seen anyone being nasty and disrespectful like at TOP.
And I haven't seen the spelling police either. I'm a paralegal. I spend a lot of time proof-reading legal documents, so yes, I can spell, but why is it so necessary to point out someone's small spelling mistake? That always bothered me there. I felt like the person pointing it out was just doing so to feel superior.

I used to be one too. Don't miss it -and I love Mondays ( for some reason) -good to be a retired paralegal. It feels really nice to let my brain go softer, my quick retort instincts relax. Know what I mean?

Welcome! I'm a former lurker over there and feel comfortable commenting here. It has been (was?) my first election / primary there, and it was shocking watching things devolve. I'm a big fan of evidence-based argument for positions, and that has almost-completely been lost there with the remnants, including some very impressive efforts indeed, coming from the stalwart Bernie Sanders supporters (in election diaries at least), although I'm hardly ever venturing over there any more to see it because the other stuff is bad for my blood pressure. Smile

and tip LD and others writing Bernie diaries. I no longer read the comments because they have been overrun by nasty people. I feel pretty confident I will check in over there even less after the nomination. Who wants to spend their free time reading about Trump and Hillary?

A. If asset forfeiture is misused by local cops to enrich their police departments, is not the proper punishment to force them to do deficit forfeiture to equal things out? Like your credit card bills, mortgage, and taxes?

B. Since Denny Hastert repeatedly sodomized students he trained as a high school wrestling coach, and Tom DeLay wants him to serve no time for his lawbreaking efforts to bribe his victims into silence, does that mean that Republican Family Values have taken on a hole new dimension?

C. If over 1/3 of America's total health care costs go directly to the overhead, profits, and bonuses of private insurance companies, does that mean that privatizing Veterans' Adminsitration health care will be good for the economy?

D. Xi Jinping has mixed Marxist and Keynesian policies to further his country's economic growth, while expanding his personal political power. But does he really know how to rock and roll?

I used steel gaffs many years ago in US Army as a 36K communications wireman, back when Jimmy Carter was President. Climbing Georgia pinetrees and phone poles out in Ft. Stewart back then. I'm guessing everything's wireless now, and that old military MOS is basically obsolete.

One of the things I find refreshing about this place is that while I don't always agree with everyone I seldom find myself in situations where up is down, black is white, and the sun rises in the west. Here, at least, the disagreements tend to make sense.
