Another Exile from DailyKos joins The Caucus
I suppose I should have seen the writing on the wall when Kos himself declared a virtual open season on anyone who refused to get behind Hillary Clinton after March 15th. As for me, there's a whole laundry list of reasons not to get behind her at all, but personally, her being open to cutting things like Social Security and Medicare are a deal breaker, faux progressive veneer aside.
But that doesn't seem to matter to those who support her. They've decided that she has to win no matter the consequences. And since they've made their choice, I must now make mine. Since they have become so hostile to anyone who makes even a constructive criticism regarding Clinton, her actions, her surrogates or her supporters, I won't be posting there anymore. Telling people I'd vote in protest for Jill Stein probably didn't help either, but I digress. The only thing I really regret is losing some friends there who gave me good advice when it came to my disability diaries and other things, but life goes on, I suppose.
In any case, Homer177 from DailyKos no longer exists to me, and I'll be posting disability stuff here instead.

Heartily agree on that score
I still go lurk to read non-political stuff -- enjoyed your diaries when I came across them even though I rarely if ever commented. But the non-primary diaries are getting harder to find and tend to sink like a stone; for example Besame had a great piece on how chemists are working on developing tests to determine just how much cannabis is in baked goods so that proper "serving sizes" can be determined, which is important for both medicinal and recreational cannabis usage. That's something that I probably wouldn't have come across in my usual reading spots so it's the kind of information I found interesting.
I basically gave the site a "time out" (not posting or recommending anything there) but I reserve the right to go back even if it's just to say "told ya so" when things don't go according to plan. And yeah, cuts to Social Security/Medicare are a BFD in this household as well, with Mr. Scribe (my spouse of almost 25 years) and I getting close to that "magic number" as well as having a disabled relative who benefits from both.
